We are seeking three new lay volunteers to join the Chapter, the Cathedral's governing body and board of trustees.
Position: Lay Members of Chapter
Location: Chichester
Contract: Chapter members are appointed for an initial three-year period and may be reappointed for a further three years.
Chapter meets 6 or 7 times a year and these are, ideally, in-person meetings held at the Cathedral though it can usually accommodate online participation. These meetings are generally up to three hours long and members are also required to prepare in advance. Radcliffe Housing Society is a small, registered provider based in Sevenoaks, Kent, with properties across the Southeast. We are more than just a financially strong Housing provider, we are making an impact on the housing crisis, supporting sustainable communities, and providing life-long homes for our customers.
We have just built our first development for over 15years in Bromley, Kent and we are looking to grow the organisation further by either new developments or stock acquisition.
About the role:
You will be a motivated individual who will serve as a Board Member for the organisation to help the Board to provide effective leadership of Radcliffe Housing Society within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enable risks to be assessed and managed well. Your role will involve contributing to investment decisions, managing risk, and maximising the impact we can have on the sector by delivering more homes, and working with our customers to improve their homes and the areas in which they live.
We are looking for Board members who will bring expertise and experience in the following areas:
· Human Resources
· Sustainability
· Customer Services
· Health and Safety / Property Compliance
The position is voluntary (reasonable expenses paid) and there are 4 Board meetings per year held in Sevenoaks (currently remotely). In addition to Board Meetings, Board Members are expected to attended Radcliffe’s AGM and Strategic Away day.

The Elizabeth Fry Charity provides support to women, mostly on licence from prison, who have a range of complex needs. Through our work, we help women to begin to address the issues they face, improve their lives and reduce the likelihood of further involvement in the criminal justice system.
The Elizabeth Fry Charity provides a 25-bed Approved Premises in Reading, enabling women to access accommodation, support, and monitoring.
As the Charity continues to grow and develop its services, we are seeking to strengthen our Board by recruiting a Trustee with finance, accounting, or audit experience.
To achieve our strategic plans, we require strong financial oversight to support sustainable growth, ensuring robust financial management and governance across all activities. We are therefore particularly interested in individuals who can bring:
Trustees, both individually and acting together as the Board, use their skills, knowledge, expertise, and contacts to govern the Charity, safeguard its assets and apply them as efficiently and effectively as possible to further its charitable objectives.
In this role, the Trustee with finance expertise will support the Board and Senior Management Team in maintaining strong financial oversight, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring the Charity’s resources are used effectively to maximise impact.

The Board of Trustees meets five times annually at Elizabeth Fry House in Reading.
