Lead with heart. Create connection. Change lives.
At Bright Connections, we believe in a simple but powerful truth: no one should feel alone.
We are a brand new and small, volunteer-run and community-led charitable project based in East London, on a mission to break social isolation for people living with disabilities. Through joyful activities, shared experiences, and a community rooted in belonging, we create spaces where friendships can grow, confidence can flourish, and every person feels seen, valued, and connected.
Our journey began with one family’s love for a sister whose world had become small and quiet. From that love grew a movement — one that believes friendship is a human right, and that connection can transform lives.
To help us get fully set up and launched, we are looking for two volunteers, who can take on these flexible hybrid volunteer roles of Manager and Deputy Manager to help lead Bright Connections and shape its future.
Your role
As part of our small and passionate leadership team, you will help guide the direction of the project, support volunteers, and ensure our activities continue to bring joy and connection to those who need it most.
This is a flexible, hybrid role, designed to fit around your life while making a meaningful impact.
You might be involved in:
Coordinating and supporting volunteers.
Helping plan and oversee activities and community events.
Contributing to the development and growth of the project.
Ensuring a warm, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all.
Why this matters
Who you are
Compassionate, reliable, and motivated by making a difference.
Comfortable taking initiative and working as part of a small team.
Interested in leadership, community work, or building something meaningful.
Able to commit flexibly in a hybrid (remote and in-person) capacity.
What you’ll gain
The opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing community initiative.
Valuable experience in project coordination and team leadership.
A chance to shape something meaningful from the ground up.
The knowledge that your contribution is helping reduce isolation and build real human connection.
At Bright Connections, we are more than a project, we are a movement rooted in kindness, inclusion, and belonging.
Together, we shine brighter.
If you’re ready to help lead with purpose and heart, we would love to hear from you.
Help us build a community where no one is left behind.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Every day, LGBTQ+ young people across the UK wonder whether things will ever get better. Whether they are navigating school, family, identity, or simply trying to find their place in the world, too many of them are doing it without the visibility, support, or role models they deserve. We exist to change that - to tell them clearly and consistently that it gets better, and that their lives have value exactly as they are.
It Gets Better UK is part of the global It Gets Better movement, present in over 20 countries. Since launching here in 2018, we have reached over 2.5 million people across all four nations through digital content, storytelling, and a growing volunteer community. We show up at Prides, we tell real stories, and we keep finding new ways to reach the young people who need to hear from us - through projects like our volunteer-led podcast and Voices of Wales, for example.
We are at a genuinely exciting point in our development. With a largely volunteer-led model that is embedded and working, and new trustees joining us to help shape our direction, we are focused on building a strategy that allows us to grow sustainably and serve LGBTQ+ young people more effectively across the UK. The people joining our board now will not just oversee that work - they will help design it.
We are looking for three new trustees, each bringing specific expertise:
Because we are a largely volunteer-led charity, our trustees tend to be more operationally involved than you might find at a larger organisation. This is a hands-on role, and one that offers a genuine opportunity to contribute your expertise to something that matters.
Please see the recruitment pack for more information.
It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals.

While we are unable to provide a timeframe and future opportunities will depend on the organisation’s growth and incoming work, this role offers the chance to be part of that journey from an early stage.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Use your voice and creativity to help end social isolation.
This is a volunteer remote role but you're welcome to join us in attending our project in East London.
At Bright Connections, we believe in a simple but powerful truth: no one should feel alone.
We are a brand new and small, volunteer-run and community-led charitable project based in East London, on a mission to break social isolation for people living with disabilities. Through joyful activities, shared experiences, and a community built on belonging, we create spaces where friendships can grow, confidence can flourish, and every person feels seen, valued, and connected.
Our story began with one family’s love for a sister whose world had become small and quiet. From that love grew a movement, one that believes friendship is a human right, and that connection can transform lives.
Now, we’re looking for a Volunteer Marketing & Communications Lead to help us share that message with the world.
What you’ll do
You’ll play a vital role in shaping how Bright Connections is seen and heard. From building our presence to telling our story, your work will help us reach the people who need us most, helping us create a small but passionate community and engaging those who want to support us too.
This could include:
Developing simple marketing and communication strategies.
Creating and managing social media content.
Helping define our tone of voice and messaging.
Supporting outreach, awareness campaigns, and storytelling.
Why this matters
Who you are
Passionate about communication, storytelling, or marketing.
Creative, proactive, and motivated by meaningful impact.
Comfortable volunteering your time to help build something from the ground up.
Aligned with our values of inclusion, empathy, and community.
What you’ll gain
A chance to shape and lead the voice of a new charitable initiative.
Hands-on experience building a brand from the very beginning.
A meaningful addition to your portfolio or career journey.
The opportunity to make a real, lasting difference in people’s lives.
At Bright Connections, we’re building more than a project, we’re building a community where no one is left behind.
Together, we shine brighter.
If you’d like to be part of our journey, we would love to hear from you.
Help us tell a story that brings people together.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Help us transform how the world travels! We are a pioneering travel social enterprise using global holiday getaways to fund community-led development and environmental regeneration. We need a visionary Head of Marketing to lead our brand strategy, proving that every journey can make a real difference.
The Mission: Reshaping the Journey
The travel industry faces a significant 'economic leakage' problem. While billions are spent on global holidays, only a tiny fraction reaches the local communities hosting those journeys. Yule Travel Group CIC exists to change that narrative.
We operate a unique, dual-impact model:
The Inclusive Empowerment Hub: Providing underrepresented UK individuals with the tools, mentorship, and ethical framework to build independent livelihoods as advocates for sustainable tourism.
Global Impact Initiatives: Our retail arm that facilitates world-class international holidays for the public, where 100% of the retained surplus is legally locked to fund global development.
Your Role as the 'Head'
We are building a marketing department consisting of three people: You (The Strategic Lead), a Content Creator, and a Partnership Outreach Lead. We don’t need you to design daily social media posts; we need you to lead the overarching strategy and ensure both 'arms' of our mission are perfectly aligned.
Brand Guardianship: Overseeing the distinct brand voices of our Empowerment Hub and our Retail Initiatives, ensuring they both communicate our 'Travel for Good' ethos with radical transparency.
Team Leadership: Guiding and mentoring our volunteer content and partnership creators.
Campaign Strategy: Designing high-level marketing campaigns that promote global holidays (from luxury escapes to family packages), which in turn fund our 'Four Pillars of Change.'
The Global Impact of Your Role
Your strategic leadership will be the funding engine for our global social projects. Because of our unique CIC structure, we rely on sustainable revenue from travel to fund our missions. The more journeys we facilitate and the more independent ambassadors we empower, the more surplus we legally safeguard to fund our initiatives.
By leading our marketing team, your impact acts as a massive multiplier. You will directly drive the success required to scale the 'Made From The Mekong' project. This initiative delivers digital literacy and English education to learners across off-grid villages in Laos, while simultaneously funding a circular economy that repurposes river plastic.
The Ideal Candidate
You do not need to be from the travel industry, but you must be a strategic thinker who understands how to build and protect a premium brand architecture.
3+ Years in Marketing Leadership: Proven experience in strategy, brand management, or campaign direction.
Audience Fluency: You know how to pitch an empowerment opportunity to a professional, and how to promote a world-class holiday to a consumer.
The 'Anti-Greenwashing' Guardian: You have a strict ethical compass and know how to market social impact with dignity and facts.
An Innovation Mindset: You want to come in at the ground floor of a dynamic social enterprise, move fast, and prove that the travel industry can be a powerful force for good.
Role Logistics: This is a fully remote, flexible volunteer role (4-6 hours/week). You will be managing other volunteers, not paid employees.
Our mission: ending economic leakage in tourism, ensuring every journey becomes a powerful funding engine for measurable global impact.
