Help a growing energy education charity and bring financial rigour to how we manage and grow our impact.
About us
Curieus Games CIC is a UK Community Interest Company, in the process of converting into a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). Our mission is to raise energy literacy through play. We make energy and climate education fun and accessible. Our vision is to inspire and attract young people to work in the energy sector.
Our flagship programme, Megawatt, consists of an energy-based educational card game supported by a series of workshops. The object of the programme is to engage students on energy and sustainability through gamification and ethical debates. We deliver the programme to primary and secondary schools across the UK, with 30 schools receiving the Megawatt programme in the 25/26 academic year. Schools receive a full day of workshops, the full suite of Megawatt resources, and training to support teachers to integrate Megawatt into curriculum teaching.
We offer our programme to schools for free. We work with energy developers and other organisations to fund our work in schools, delivering community engagement and social value on their behalf. We’ve built partnerships with several high profile energy developers in offshore wind, solar, batteries and nuclear, as well as winning grants from the National Lottery and the Royal Academy of Engineering. We already have funding secured to deliver to 50 schools in the upcoming academic year.
Megawatt has also been translated into French and Polish and is currently being rolled out to schools in France and Poland through partnerships with local institutes.
You can see more about the work we do here - www.megawatt.game
The next chapter
Curieus Games is converting from a Community Interest Company into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). As a charity, we will have access to more sources of funding, giving us an opportunity to grow our impact by reaching more schools and developing more resources to teach about the energy transition.
To lead that next chapter, we're building a founding board of trustees to govern the charity into the next phase of our journey and build on the success we’ve had so far.
The role
As Treasurer, you'll be the person who makes sure the charity grows on solid financial footing — guiding our reporting, risk management and financial strategy as we scale from 30 schools to hundreds. You'll bring:
Working arrangements
Six board meetings a year, mostly online with occasional in-person sessions — around 3-5 hours a month in total including meetings. It's a three-year term. The role is voluntary and unpaid, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
More details are in the attached Trustee Information Pack.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

OOEF is a small, fast-growing charity and we need people to help us run it well. You can do this on-site with us — in which case you will the magic in action — or remotely, or a mixture of both. Volunteer scheduling, communications, grant applications, impact reporting, events, partnerships... or whatever else you spot needs doing and are motivated to get involved with. No music background needed. We are looking for someone organised, reliable and genuinely interested in what we do.
About the role
Orchestra of Everything Foundation (OOEF) delivers free, immersive music education to around 250 children aged 7–11 at two Bath primary schools in Twerton and Whiteway — nationally ranked deprived communities. Our impact is off the scale: school leaders tell us that 86% of children show improved attitudes to learning across all subjects, and we have been instrumental in a 39% reduction in pupil suspensions. Our work has caught the attention of the Department for Education, and Bath Spa University now incorporates our model into teacher training.
As an Operations & Admin Volunteer you might focus on one area or help across several, depending on your skills and availability: volunteer scheduling, communications, grant applications, impact reporting, events and partnerships. This role can be shaped entirely around you. If you want to be on-site — watching sessions, being part of the team, seeing the impact first-hand — we would love that. Volunteers who come in consistently tell us it is the most motivating thing about the work. But if remote or flexible working suits you better, that works too.
What you'll bring
• Organisational ability and initiative — keeping multiple things moving without always being asked
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Comfort with email and shared documents
• Any of the following are a real bonus: bookkeeping, design, research, fundraising, project management, web skills
Time commitment
The time commitment is flexible and entirely negotiable — from a couple of hours per month to something more regular. Some volunteers come via employer volunteering schemes on a rota (companies and organisations are very welcome); others commit as individuals on an ad hoc basis; others come as students fitting volunteering around their studies. We will shape the arrangement entirely around your availability.
What you'll get from it
• Real insight into how a values-driven music charity operates at a pivotal moment in its growth
• Close working with the founding team on work that genuinely matters
• If you come on-site: the chance to see the direct impact of what you do
• We welcome pro bono contributions from companies supporting employee volunteering
• DBS check arranged and funded by OOEF (if working on-site)

We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the shared houses are full, this would allow us to offer an opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.

If, because of your degree or for any other reason, you would like to have your period at Second Tree credited as an internship, just apply to the vacancy that you’re interested in and mention this. NOTE: If you require a visa to stay in Greece for the minimum ten-week commitment, please know that as a Greek NGO, we are unable to sponsor your visa.
We challenge the biases that make us see refugees as “the other”. We change the way society perceives refugees, and refugees perceive society.

COMMUNITY MANAGER & SQUAD LEADER (The Heart of SUNSHINE) - VOLUNTEER ROLE
The Spark: Why We Need You
London is one of the most vibrant, fast-paced cities on Earth. Yet underneath the noise, it is facing a quiet crisis. In boroughs like Tower Hamlets, nearly 40% of our neighbors report feeling chronically lonely and isolated. For many, urban isolation is a heavy, daily reality.
We are SUNSHINE, and we are here to smash that isolation with pure, unadulterated, radical positivity!
We don't do boring, clinical forms or awkward networking. Instead, we take over inner London’s public and unused spaces with high-vibrancy pop-ups—bringing bright neon t-shirts, upbeat music, handmade positive quote cards, and literal bubble machines directly to the pavement to turn strangers into neighbours.
We have the vision, the gear, and the strategic roadmap locked down. Now, we need our ultimate host. We need a warm, empathetic, and naturally bubbly Community Manager to nurture our digital group chats, welcome new participants, and lead the squad on the ground!
Your Mission: What You’ll Do
As our founding Community Manager, you will be the bridge between our online spaces and our real-world hangouts. You will be the very heart of the SUNSHINE experience, working to:
Who You Are (The Perfect Fit)
You do not need a degree in public relations or corporate hospitality.
We are looking for a human who is:
Why Lead With Us?
Ready to Bring the Sunshine Back to London?
Let’s paint the town yellow together.
To Apply: Please send a brief introductory note and a link to your LinkedIn profile or CV directly through CharityJob. Tell us a little bit about your community background and why you want to be the welcoming face of SUNSHINE!

Could you help shape the future of Katherine Low Settlement?
We're looking for a new Treasurer Trustee to join our Board.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with financial experience to use their skills to support one of Battersea's longest-established charities.
About Katherine Low Settlement
Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation. We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people every year.
About the Role
KLS is looking for a Treasurer Trustee to bring financial insight, sound judgement and strategic challenge to our Board. This is a rewarding opportunity to help a community-focused charity stay financially strong, well governed and able to make a lasting difference for people in Battersea and Wandsworth.
What You’ll Do
• Guide Board-level understanding of KLS’s finances, risks and long-term sustainability.
• Chair the Finance Committee and help turn financial information into clear, confident decisions.
• Provide Board level scrutiny of budgets, management accounts, reserves, cash flow, controls and annual accounts, including reviewing income and expenditure, monitoring restricted and unrestricted funds, and supporting year-end reporting.
• Provide constructive challenge on funding, strategy, financial planning and major commitments, including grant budgets, funder reporting, reserves planning and financial sustainability.
• Champion transparent, ethical financial stewardship that supports safe, effective services.
• Contribute to wider discussions on strategy, governance, safeguarding and organisational sustainability, in a more general trustee capacity.
Who We’re Looking For
• Financial confidence, curiosity and clarity, with the ability to read the numbers and ask thoughtful questions.
• Ability to help others engage with finance in a practical, accessible way.
• Experience in finance, accountancy, audit, risk, grant management, charity finance, trusteeship or the voluntary and community sector.
• Understanding of charity finance, including monitoring restricted funds, reviewing management accounts, supporting reserves policy, preparing for audit or independent examination, and helping trustees understand financial risks.
• A professional accountancy qualification is welcome but not essential if you have broader financial leadership or governance experience.
• Previous trustee experience is desirable but not essential.
Equality, Diversity and Accessibility
We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, especially those with lived experience, community connections or insight into the communities KLS serves. We are committed to an accessible recruitment process and will make reasonable adjustments where needed.
Appointment Requirements
Appointment is subject to eligibility to act as a charity trustee and, where applicable, as a company director, a satisfactory DBS check and any relevant identity verification requirements.
How to Apply
If you are interested in using your financial skills to support local impact, we would love to hear from you. Please send a CV and short supporting statement outlining your interest in KLS, your relevant financial or governance experience, and what you would bring to the Board to Sarah Gibb, KLS CEO.
