You’ll be:

· planning fundraising events and activities like cake sales, quiz nights and barn dances

Time expectation

Our fundraising events organisers usually spend two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer.

What does it look like to Chair a charity at a pivotal moment of change?

Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is an established infrastructure charity supporting, connecting and championing voluntary and community organisations across North Somerset and beyond.

With a strong local reputation and a clear ambition for the future, VANS plays a vital role in strengthening communities by bringing organisations together, amplifying collective voice, and enabling others to deliver impact.

Now, at an important point in its development, the organisation is focused on building on its strengths, refining how it works, and positioning itself to be futureproof. We’re looking for a new Chair to lead the charity into its next phase.

Location: Based in North Somerset working across the South West and beyond

Time commitment: Governance commitment supported by a Vice-Chair. Currently, 4 Board meetings and 2 Development days per annum, 3-4 Governance group meetings, regular meetings with the CEO, as well as ad-hoc meetings, preparation and urgent matters arising.

Chair of Trustees at Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP)

Job summary: 

We're looking for a Chair of Trustees to help shape the strategic vision of WTRRP as we move forward into our 25th year as a charity. This would be someone to support us with our strategy in line with our mission and our values. In this role, you will lead the Committee and other Trustees co-chairs of the charity, share responsibility for the agenda and actions of Trustee meetings and AGM, improving good governance and acting as a senior ambassador of the organisation. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, availability and leadership skills to work collaboratively with our small staff and our volunteers.

WTRRP exists to support asylum seekers and refugees in Watford and Three Rivers who do not yet have settled status in the UK or may have specific needs relating to their application process or welfare. The main services of the charity are a drop-in session and social hub every Tuesday (at St Mary’s Church in central Watford), ESOL classes, providing advice and financial support to its clients and assisting them to integrate into the local community.

The Partnership has grown dramatically over the past 5 years, which is why we are looking for a Chair to join us. WTRRP is run by a committee that meets typically every 1-2 months and it also provides supervision to our 3 staff members and support to our 70 volunteers.

We would welcome applicants with any of the following experience:

• Governance and previous Committee experience
• Business development and charitable fundraising
• Human resources and people management
• Lived experience of being a Refugee or Migrant

Principal responsibilities:

1. Be part of the Committee, supporting the organisation as it grows and develops.

Basis Yorkshire is seeking a committed and values-driven individual to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer. This is an opportunity to support a long-standing, specialist organisation working alongside sex workers and people experiencing sexual exploitation across Yorkshire.

Basis has over three decades of experience delivering trauma-informed, non-judgemental support, advocacy, outreach and education. We work with people across all sectors of the sex industry, as well as young people and adults at risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation. Our approach is rooted in dignity, agency, social justice and harm reduction, with the voices and experiences of the people we support at the centre of everything we do.

As Treasurer Trustee, you will play a key role in supporting the Board’s oversight of the charity’s financial health, sustainability and governance. While professional financial qualifications are not required, we are looking for someone who is confident in scrutinising financial information, asking constructive questions, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

We are particularly interested in individuals who share our commitment to challenging stigma and inequality, and who can bring thoughtful, independent judgment to Board discussions. Together Drug and Alcohol Service is the commissioned community drug and alcohol provision for Devon. It provides a range of support, interventions and treatments for those wanting to make positive changes to their drug and/or alcohol use, as well raising awareness and supporting family members.

Recovery Support Volunteers can be involved in various aspects of service delivery. It is a front line, client facing role and may involve a focus on one particular area, such as group work or Duty support, or, it may involve a combination of tasks and activities. About the Role

ILP has a 13-member Board, with members based in the UK, Spain, Kenya and the USA. Successful candidates will be joining a collegial team with a wide range of expertise in the thematic areas of ILP’s work and experience in charity governance.

ILP is a growing and ambitious organisation, with its budget more than doubling in size over the course of the last few years. Currently with a budget of approximately £500,000 and an additional £6 million value mobilised in pro bono hours, we are looking for a trustee and ultimately a Chair who is able to support the team as the organisation continues to grow and move to the next level.

Successful candidates will be appointed initially as an ordinary Trustee. The term of the current Chair comes to an end in mid-2027. Shortly before then the Board will decide on the appointment of a new Chair, with the expectation that the successful candidate will be elected from the Board in accordance with the Articles of Association.

The key responsibilities of Board members are to ensure that the organisation has a clear strategy for the fulfilment of its charitable purposes, and to provide oversight of and support to the executive team, in accordance with the Articles of Association and the guidance on governance obligations established by the Charity Commission.

 In addition to these general obligations the Board Chair’s key responsibilities are to:

• Provide leadership to the Board of Trustees in oversight of the strategic direction and execution of the governance responsibilities of the Charity.

• Chair and facilitate meetings of the Board (hybrid meetings held from ILP’s London office), ensuring that they are conducted in an effective and inclusive manner and monitoring the implementation of decisions taken at such meetings.

• Support ILP’s Executive Director in leading the day-to-day management of the Charity and preparing for Board meetings.

• Take lead responsibility on behalf of the Board for the relationship with ILP’s Executive Director, appraising their performance and holding him or her to account.

• Give direction to Board policy making.

• Act as an ambassador for the Charity, representing its strategy and contribution to its partners and funders.

• Plan for the recruitment and development of Board members as needed in order to improve the performance of the Board.

Term of Office: Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term, serving a maximum of 3 consecutive terms.

Expected Time Commitment: Variable, but up to two days a month as Board Chair. Ordinary trustees attend four two-hour Board meetings annually, for which moderate background reading is required, and may be requested to assist with other contributions.

Compensation: This is a volunteer role, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

This project aims to improve mental and physical wellbeing by encouraging people to (re)connect with nature and the world around them through in-house, peer/volunteer-led activities as well as outsourced activities from local providers. The project supports social inclusion, personal and community development, and boosts people’s sense of belonging and feelings of personal achievement.

These roles are ideally suited to people with lived experience of mental health or addiction recovery. Full training is provided, including recognised First Aid certificates. You would be joining a supportive, recovery focussed, community development team. Opportunities are also available to combine this role with ‘in-house’ activity support such as Flourish Recovery Cafes and creative groups.

Tasks you may be involve in:

Purpose of the Role

The National Outreach Officer Trustee leads on developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, community organisations, and outreach partners. The role supports Hidayah’s national growth and helps ensure LGBTQ+ Muslims can access inclusive support, representation, and community connections.

• Act as a key point of contact between Hidayah and external organisations, community groups, and stakeholders.

Influential Stars was founded by Lisa Connell, who is living with an inoperable brain tumour and has spent many years supporting charitable causes. 

The platform was created from a simple belief: when influence, connection and community come together, they can create meaningful impact. 

Role and Purpose 

Did you know you can use your influence for good? 

Most people don’t realise how much influence they already have. Influence is not just about social media followers, it can come from your workplace, university, local community, friendships, professional network or simply knowing the right person. 

We are looking for proactive and enthusiastic individuals to help identify and inspire people with BIG hearts to become Creators or Collaborators with Influential Stars. 

As a Volunteer Creator & Collaborator Outreach Assistant, you will help raise awareness by building relationships, introducing suitable people to the platform and sharing Influential Stars within online and offline communities.

Every registered Collaborator receives a personalised A4 referral poster featuring their unique QR code and referral code. This means you can support the platform by distributing posters in appropriate locations, sharing your tracked referral details or speaking directly to people within your network. 

You can focus on poster distribution, digital outreach, community networking or a combination of all three. You do not need a large social media following or previous professional experience. 

Ways You Could Help 

● Display your personalised referral poster in workplaces, universities, cafés, gyms, salons, community centres, clubs and other suitable venues, with permission. 

● Ask local businesses and organisations to display your poster. ● Share your unique referral link, QR code and approved Influential Stars content online. 

● Add your referral link to your social media biography, email signature or appropriate community profiles. 

● Introduce Influential Stars within professional networks, university societies, local groups and community organisations. 

● Speak to friends, colleagues, business owners and community members who may make suitable Creators or Collaborators. 

● Attend networking events, community events or local activities and introduce people to the platform. 

● Encourage other people to register as Collaborators and begin sharing their own personalised referral poster. 

● Make FIT List nominations and inspire suitable people to use their influence for a meaningful cause. 

Key Responsibilities 

● Identify potential Creators, Collaborators and supporters. 

● Build relationships and introduce suitable individuals to Influential Stars.

● Explain the Creator and Collaborator opportunities clearly and accurately using approved information. 

● Encourage people to explore fundraising opportunities for causes they care about. 

● Promote Influential Stars within online and offline communities.

● Share your personalised referral link, QR code and approved content.

● Approach appropriate venues and request permission to display your personalised A4 poster.

● Keep a record of poster placements, including the venue, contact, agreed display period and a photograph where possible. 

● Check, replace or remove posters when necessary or at the end of an agreed display period. 

● Engage with people through LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other appropriate networks. 

● Follow up with people who have expressed an interest and direct detailed enquiries to the relevant Influential Stars team member. 

● Share approved content and help raise awareness of the platform and its registered causes. 

● Keep accurate records of outreach, referrals, responses and follow-up actions within our CRM system. 

● Follow Influential Stars’ brand guidance and avoid unsolicited or excessive messaging. 

● Contribute ideas for building awareness, attracting new Collaborators and reaching potential Creators.

Volunteer Benefits & Rewards 

This is currently a volunteer role, offering valuable experience and the opportunity to be part of Influential Stars as the platform grows. 

As a registered Collaborator, you may also be eligible for: 

● A £25 referral reward when a Collaborator you introduce goes on to refer a Creator who successfully completes their first qualifying campaign.

● A 5% Collaborator Thank You from Influential Stars’ platform share when a Creator you personally introduce successfully completes their first qualifying entry-based campaign. 

These payments are provided by Influential Stars and never reduce the guaranteed amount donated to the charity or personal cause.
