We are excited to announce an incredible opportunity for a talented Bid Writer to join our passionate team at the Africa Health Organisation (AHO)!  Since 1999, we've been dedicated to delivering health and social care to millions across Africa and the Diaspora, and now we're ready to elevate our impact further.

This year, we're embarking on a mission to broaden our funding strategy by incorporating bids and tenders.  Our goal is to engage with the governments in Africa and the UK, the public sector, and the public, providing essential practical and emotional support to those facing chronic conditions.  We need a visionary like you to help us achieve our goals.

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Bid Writer to assist the Bid Manager and Head of Bids in developing and executing a winning strategy to secure the necessary financial backing.  There are numerous exciting possibilities ahead, including central government tenders, as well as local and statutory opportunities.  We're eager to explore them all.

What are we looking for?

Person Specification: What You'll Bring:

• Educated to a degree level
• At least one year of proven experience in bid and tender management, preferably within the healthcare (NHS & private), medical, social care and services, international development, economics, international relations, UN agencies, ege, UNICEF, WHO, etc, or technology sectors.
• End-to-end bid management experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience leading the whole bid process.
• Preferred qualifications include a degree in Business, Communication, Marketing, Creative Writing, English or equivalent.
• APMP Certification is also desirable, but not important.
• Sector versatility: Experience in working with both public and private sector bids in the medical, biotech, biomed, health and social sectors is preferred.
• Industry knowledge: Understanding of contact centres and/or customer experience is essential.
• Commercial acumen: Strong business sense, negotiation skills, and a hands-on approach.
• Resilience under pressure: Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Detail orientation: High attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy.

What difference will you make?

In this exciting role, you will lead the strategic effort to win new business through competitive bids, tenders, and proposals, ultimately driving AHO's success. Your specialised knowledge will enhance our win rates and maximise revenue by bringing clarity, quality, and coordination to what can be a complex and high-stakes journey.

Your primary mission is to boost AHO's tender win rates and strengthen our strategic advantage.  By diligently overseeing each step of the bidding process—from initial evaluation to final submission—you will significantly improve the quality and persuasion of our proposals, directly increasing our chances of securing valuable contracts.

You'll provide key insights to help the Bid Manager target the most promising opportunities by implementing a thoughtful "bid/no-bid" process.  This approach will ensure we focus only on lucrative and winnable contracts that closely align with our strategic goals, ultimately saving time and resources and allowing us to prioritise high-potential projects.

In this role, you will orchestrate a well-coordinated process that drives operational efficiency. Acting as the central point of contact, you will gather input from diverse internal teams—sales, finance, legal, and technical experts—ensuring everyone collaborates smoothly to meet critical deadlines.

As a self-starter, you'll elevate the quality of our bid content.  By overseeing the creation of compelling, polished materials, you'll ensure that our final submissions are professional, cohesive, and error-free. You will utilise a centralised content library filled with valuable resources, such as case studies and CVs, to streamline our efforts and enhance our proposals.

You will keep projects on track by developing detailed project plans and timelines, ensuring that all tasks are completed punctually—especially critical in the fast-paced environment of tender submissions.  Your effective management will ease the workload for colleagues focused on their core responsibilities, allowing the entire team to shine.

To foster long-term business growth, you'll create a wealth of knowledge around our tenders and bids. By conducting insightful post-submission debriefs and analysing feedback, you will capture invaluable lessons from both successes and setbacks.  This ongoing improvement process will enhance our bidding capabilities for future opportunities.

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C is a pioneering Podcast/YouTube Channel and healing membership organisation. We provide a platform for survivors and whistleblowers to share their lived experiences, highlight systemic frustrations and offer solutions rooted in culturally trauma-informed care.

Job Purpose:

This role exists to function as the organisation’s primary “frontline discovery engine,” scanning a wide range of public sources—including media platforms, social networks, interviews, documentaries, podcasts, books, advocacy spaces, and community forums—to uncover individuals who have either publicly shared their experiences or are visibly positioned within ongoing social, cultural, or institutional narratives.

The Research Story Scout is responsible for recognising not just individual stories, but also broader story ecosystems, including repeated patterns of lived experience, underrepresented voices, emerging testimonies, and whistleblower disclosures that may not yet have been formally documented or widely circulated.

A key purpose of this role is to convert scattered public information into structured, actionable story leads that can be passed efficiently to the Outreach Team for ethical and appropriate engagement.

The role also ensures that potential stories are identified early, before they become widely saturated or lost in mainstream attention cycles, enabling the organisation to engage responsibly, respectfully, and at the right stage of the individual’s willingness to share.

Ultimately, this role ensures the organisation maintains a consistent flow of credible, relevant, and timely story opportunities by continuously scanning the public landscape and translating discovery into structured, usable intelligence for outreach and engagement.

Our Information & Advice service provides free, confidential and independent support to people aged 50 and over. We are looking for a reliable and confident volunteer to help clients complete important paper and online forms.

About the Role

As a volunteer, you will help older people complete welfare benefit applications, online application forms, and other documents in person, by telephone or during a home visit. Your clear and accurate support can help clients overcome complex forms, health barriers or limited digital skills.

Task may include:

• Help clients complete paper and online forms accurately.
• Explain practical next steps within the boundaries of your training and role.
• Support appointments at our offices and outreach venues, by telephone, and in clients’ homes.
• Data entry to ensure clear and accurate records of client contact

Who would this role be suitable for?

· This role would suit someone who is patient, caring and non-judgemental, with strong communication, literacy and digital skills.

· You will need to be confident using IT systems and online forms, able to explain information clearly and comfortable handling personal information confidentially.

· Experience in administration, advice, teaching, health or social care may be helpful, but it is not essential.

· Full role-specific training will be provided before you begin supporting clients independently.

Training

You will receive core volunteer training, GDPR and data protection training, form-filling training and guidance on lone working. You will initially work alongside experienced staff in office and outreach settings.

There may also be an opportunity to work towards a Level 2 qualification in Information, Advice or Guidance and to access optional adviser training over approximately 12 months. Although this does not guarantee employment, it can provide valuable knowledge, skills and experience.

Due to the training involved and the nature of the work, we are ideally looking for volunteers who can offer regular, longer-term support.

Working Safely

The service completes a risk assessment before every client home visit. Volunteers must use the lone-working app and follow all agreed safeguarding, confidentiality and safety procedures.

Role: Director of Local Operations

Job Description:
Youth Advantage UK is seeking a volunteer Director of Local Operations to develop and lead its Local Operations Departments (England and Wales; Scotland and Northern Ireland) in identifying and delivering on opportunities for the organisation to have an impact at a local level through commissioned research projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring these Departments produce high-quality research projects which meet the goals agreed with the commissioning organisations and grow Youth Advantage’s reputation and reach in line with its strategic policies. Working closely with the COO and the Policy and Ethics Departments, the ideal candidate will use their prior experience to effectively guide and strengthen the organisation’s ability to enable evidence-based, positive local change. They should have excellent writing and speaking skills, IT literacy, and the ability to work well independently and in a team.

This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:

● In line with the organisation’s strategic priorities, to lead the Local Operations Department in designing, developing and implementing impactful research and project objectives.

● To line manage the Head of Local Operations (England and Wales) and the Head of Local Operations (Scotland and Northern Ireland), supporting them to effectively manage their own teams and to develop and implement the frameworks necessary for producing top quality research projects based around both desktop research and fieldwork.

● To work with HR in creating a strong Local Operations Department composed of individuals with the appropriate skills and expertise. To ensure these volunteers are appropriately supported and trained during their period of service.

● To work alongside the Policy Department to source potential commission and project opportunities, shaping the focus and output of the Local Operations Department accordingly.

● To develop short- and long-term strategies in relation to the Department’s activity, ensuring that these align with the wider strategies of the organisation.

● To liaise with the Policy and Ethics Department of the organisation on an ongoing basis, ensuring that their advice is incorporated into Departmental decisions and output.

● To take responsibility for relationships with key external stakeholders, at all times representing the organisation positively and professionally.

Support older people aged 65+ to become more physically active and achieve personal wellbeing goals through one-to-one mentoring. You'll provide encouragement, motivation, and practical support to help someone make positive lifestyle changes over a 12-week programme.

You will:

· Meet with an older person regularly to build a supportive mentoring relationship

· Help them identify a wellbeing or physical activity goal

· Work together to create achievable steps and milestones

· Encourage and motivate them to stay active and overcome barriers

· Review progress and celebrate achievements

· Signpost to local activities and opportunities where appropriate

· Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions

Skills You’ll Use or Develop

· Confidence supporting behaviour change

· Understanding of healthy ageing and physical activity

· Organisation and record keeping

Time Commitment

Minimum 2 hours per week

Flexible weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm

The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch is seeking a committed and enthusiastic volunteer to join our trustee team as Branch Treasurer.

About Us

The Buckinghamshire South Branch is an independently registered local charity operating within the wider RSPCA network. Our branch focuses primarily on rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming cats, rabbits and guinea pigs across South Buckinghamshire.

Like many local RSPCA branches, we rely heavily on volunteers, donations and fundraising to continue supporting animals in need.

About the Role

As Branch Treasurer, you will provide strategic financial oversight and help ensure the Branch remains financially sustainable, well-governed and compliant with charity finance requirements.

Although many day-to-day financial activities are managed operationally by the Finance Manager, the Treasurer plays an essential oversight role in ensuring the charity’s finances are managed correctly, transparently and legally.

Working closely with fellow trustees, the Finance Manager and the Head of Branch, you will:

• Monitor budgets and financial performance
• Review financial controls, governance and compliance
• Provide financial insight and assurance to the trustee board
• Help oversee annual accounts, VAT returns and Gift Aid claims
• Support longer-term financial planning, reserves and risk management
• Contribute to strategic decision-making as part of the trustee board

What We’re Looking For

This role may particularly suit a qualified accountant, finance professional, finance manager or retired finance leader seeking a meaningful volunteer opportunity. 

We would particularly welcome applications from people with:

• Experience in finance, accounting, financial management or financial governance
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• The confidence to review and challenge financial information appropriately
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
• A collaborative and positive approach
• A passion for animal welfare
• Previous charity finance experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• A recognised financial qualification (such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA) would be advantageous, though not required.

Time Commitment

• Monthly trustee meetings (typically 2–3 hours)
• Some additional flexible volunteer time between meetings
