What are we looking for?

Person Specification: What You'll Bring:

• Educated to a degree level
• At least one year of proven experience in bid and tender management, preferably within the healthcare (NHS & private), medical, social care and services, international development, economics, international relations, UN agencies, ege, UNICEF, WHO, etc, or technology sectors.
• End-to-end bid management experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience leading the whole bid process.
• Preferred qualifications include a degree in Business, Communication, Marketing, Creative Writing, English or equivalent.
• APMP Certification is also desirable, but not important.
• Sector versatility: Experience in working with both public and private sector bids in the medical, biotech, biomed, health and social sectors is preferred.

Trustees, including a treasurer, are needed for a leading charity helping people with dissociative disorders. 

CDS UK (Clinic for Dissociative Studies) is a specialist service offering assessments and treatment for people with dissociative disorders and an independent charitable provider to the NHS.

CDS provides diagnosis, outpatient treatment, clinical supervision, consultancy and training all over the UK. We also participate in research and education, contributing to what we hope is a greater understanding of dissociative disorders.

Dissociative disorders typically arise in response to extreme and repetitive trauma and/or abuse in early childhood. Dissociation can be a survival mechanism and adaptive response to overwhelming and traumatic experiences, enabling an individual to endure life events that no one person could be expected to manage without a severe impact on their wellbeing. Trustees are central to ensuring that CDS provides the best possible help for extremely vulnerable clients.

 Role summary - To participate as a member of the Maintenance Team covering general maintenance, domestic and health and safety duties. A good level of fitness is required for this role. Due to proximity to patients in the hospice, this role requires an enhanced DBS check. 

Main duties of the role - 

• To undertake simple maintenance tasks such as painting, PPM (planned preventative maintenance), erecting shelving, sweeping external areas, jet washing of terrace furniture, removal of weeds, hedge trimming, and other tasks relating to the upkeep of the site.

• To assist the maintenance team where needed to deliver and collect from Colchester General Hospital and EBME.

• To assist the maintenance team with the setting up and dismantle of rooms for meetings, ensuring all furniture and equipment requested is supplied.

• To report any maintenance, security or health and safety issues to the maintenance team

• To always wear personal protective equipment required for any task.

• To liaise with contractors and suppliers as required.

• To respect at all times the confidentiality of information including patients, staff and volunteers.

What it's like around the Board table

As a local independent mental health charity affiliated with Mind, we support people across North Kent and Medway through a wide range of services including counselling, crisis support, housing support, employment services, and children and young people’s mental health programmes.

About the Role

As Chair, you will lead our Board of Trustees and work closely with our Chief Executive to ensure North Kent Mind continues to deliver on its vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

You will provide governance leadership, support effective decision-making, and help ensure the organisation remains sustainable, impactful, and focused on the needs of local people.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and chairing the Board of Trustees
• Providing strategic leadership and direction for the organisation
• Provide line management and support to the Chief Executive on behalf of the board
• Ensuring effective governance and compliance with charity and company law

Time Commitment

The Chair role typically includes:

• Bi-monthly Board meetings
• Monthly one-to-one meetings with the Chief Executive
• One Annual General Meeting per year
• One Board Away Day per year
• Attendance at relevant committee meetings
• Occasional representation of North Kent Mind at events and stakeholder meetings
• Engagement with trustees, staff, and wider Mind network activities

Meetings are a combination of face-to-face and virtual attendance.

We are seeking a dedicated and friendly person with a passion for cooking to cook a healthy community meal for our lunch service on Tuesdays and/or Fridays.

The community kitchen chef volunteers will play a vital role in supporting Mind in Camden’s wider group services, including the Healthy Minds Community Programme and Phoenix Recovery Service. We support adults (18+) living in Camden who may be experiencing mental health challenges, isolation, or social exclusion.

A key part of our services is providing healthy home cooked meals for our community members twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays). As a Community Kitchen Chef volunteer, you will gain valuable frontline experience cooking a community meal for adults with a range of mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with other volunteer chefs to design healthy menus that are guided by suggestions and requests from our community members.  You will be challenged to create delicious meals using a limited budget and minimising food waste.

*Please note we require a minimum of 6 months commitment to your volunteering role.

Global Health Access Trust (GHAT) develops, funds and coordinates defined projects that advance health, relieve illness and preserve life for the public benefit. Projects are developed around clearly identified healthcare-access, infrastructure, workforce and system needs and move through disciplined stages of scoping, approval, team formation, funding, delivery and evidence.
