About Braver Together 

Braver Together is an online therapeutic programme providing structured support for parents, partners, siblings and chosen family of those at risk of suicide.

Grounded in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), the programme equips participants with practical tools, coping strategies, and deeper understanding to navigate the emotional impact of supporting someone in crisis. [

It offers:

The aim is to strengthen both individual wellbeing and the wider support system around those at risk of suicide. 

How This Role Contributes 

By supporting Braver Together, you are helping to strengthen the wider network around individuals at risk of suicide, recognising that supporting loved ones is a critical part of long-term healing and prevention.

Purpose of the Role 

To support the delivery of the Braver Together programme by helping to create a safe, welcoming, and consistent therapeutic environment for participants, while contributing to engagement, accessibility, and community-building. 

Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring that those supporting loved ones feel heard, held, and connected, alongside professional therapeutic support. 

Key Responsibilities 

Supporting Delivery & Engagement 

• Assist with the smooth running of weekly online group sessions (e.g. welcoming participants, managing attendance, supporting logistics) 

• Help foster a warm, inclusive and non-judgemental space for participants 

• Support participant engagement before, during and after sessions 

• Support in creating and promoting community sessions

• Supporting with monitoring and evaluation processes 

Creating Safe & Supportive Spaces 

• Model Body & Soul values of empathy, compassion and respect 

• Be attentive to participant wellbeing and flag any concerns to staff appropriately 

Community & Relationship Building 

• Support the development of connection among participants 

• Contribute to community spaces and follow-up engagement (e.g. community evenings or check-ins)

About the Role

ILP has a 13-member Board, with members based in the UK, Spain, Kenya and the USA. Successful candidates will be joining a collegial team with a wide range of expertise in the thematic areas of ILP’s work and experience in charity governance.

ILP is a growing and ambitious organisation, with its budget more than doubling in size over the course of the last few years. Currently with a budget of approximately £500,000 and an additional £6 million value mobilised in pro bono hours, we are looking for a trustee and ultimately a Chair who is able to support the team as the organisation continues to grow and move to the next level.

Successful candidates will be appointed initially as an ordinary Trustee. The term of the current Chair comes to an end in mid-2027. Shortly before then the Board will decide on the appointment of a new Chair, with the expectation that the successful candidate will be elected from the Board in accordance with the Articles of Association.

The key responsibilities of Board members are to ensure that the organisation has a clear strategy for the fulfilment of its charitable purposes, and to provide oversight of and support to the executive team, in accordance with the Articles of Association and the guidance on governance obligations established by the Charity Commission.

 In addition to these general obligations the Board Chair’s key responsibilities are to:

• Provide leadership to the Board of Trustees in oversight of the strategic direction and execution of the governance responsibilities of the Charity.

• Chair and facilitate meetings of the Board (hybrid meetings held from ILP’s London office), ensuring that they are conducted in an effective and inclusive manner and monitoring the implementation of decisions taken at such meetings.

• Support ILP’s Executive Director in leading the day-to-day management of the Charity and preparing for Board meetings.

• Take lead responsibility on behalf of the Board for the relationship with ILP’s Executive Director, appraising their performance and holding him or her to account.

• Give direction to Board policy making.

• Act as an ambassador for the Charity, representing its strategy and contribution to its partners and funders.

• Plan for the recruitment and development of Board members as needed in order to improve the performance of the Board.

Term of Office: Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term, serving a maximum of 3 consecutive terms.

Expected Time Commitment: Variable, but up to two days a month as Board Chair. Ordinary trustees attend four two-hour Board meetings annually, for which moderate background reading is required, and may be requested to assist with other contributions.

Compensation: This is a volunteer role, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Can you help the Bristol Oxfam Online Shop raise money to support and empower some of the world’s most vulnerable communities?

We are looking for people with an eye for detail to help us research, prepare, photograph, describe and dispatch our homewares on Oxfam’s bespoke online shop. Our specialist online shop sells an eclectic range of clothing, accessories, books, music, film and homewares, sourced from our generous donors at Oxfam shops across the area.

We have had some very interesting homewares donations over the years, from antique postal scales to vintage bears and Wedgwood tea sets. If you know your homewares and can help us identify, price, list and photograph our stock your help will be invaluable! You will receive full training and support from our friendly and knowledgeable team.

What you can do at the shop:

We believe in empowering our volunteers so, depending on your interests and what you would like to get out of the role, you can get involved with any of the following aspects of running the online shop (and more!):

· Researching rare and valuable stock

· Selection, preparation and presentation of stock

· Photography and editing

· Creating accurate and engaging online listings

· Creating engaging content for the shop's social media platforms

· Packaging and dispatching items

We are looking for English teachers or tutors to provide one-to-one, group or asynchronous lessons to Palestinians aged 13+ and adults for at least 3 months. All volunteers must complete training before they begin. 

The autumn term will run from 13/09/26 to 20/12/26.

• Applying the concepts learned through trauma-informed and emergency education training. 
• Delivering weekly 90-minute lessons, plus 30–60 minutes of preparation for at least 3 months.

PACT (Parents and Children Together) has been building and strengthening families since 1911 through outstanding adoption services and specialist therapeutic and trauma informed support services across Reading, the Thames Valley, and southern England. As one of the UK’s leading voluntary adoption agencies, we place children with loving, permanent families (over 81 placements last year) and offer lifelong specialist support through services like our Strengthening Families Team, CATCH and Adopter Champions. Alongside our adoption service provision, we empower women facing multiple disadvantages through our Alana House women’s centre and help children and their non-abusing parents recover from trauma via our Bounce Back 4 Kids programme.

For the Violence Against Women and Girls Trustee role, we are looking for individuals with demonstrable experience of working in this sector, or in closely aligned areas (e.g. domestic abuse, sexual violence, women in the criminal justice system, safeguarding, trauma informed services). You will have a strong understanding of the policy, commissioning and funding landscape relating to this field.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the coordination and management of all Bid activities, for ensuring that Bid Plans are put in place and that all internal inputs are received promptly to meet Bid submission timescales.
• Responsible for the receipt, management, control and coordination of all external and internal information and documentation with respect to the enquiry and for the team acting as custodian for Bid documents, including all approved internal documentation signed by the Organisation.
• Responsible for compliance with all internal Bid policies and procedures and for passing internal and external audits.
• Contribute to the overall Bid strategy alongside other stakeholders.
• Responsible for the overall leadership of the team and ensuring that individuals within the team are given appropriate opportunities to grow and develop, and that the team maximises performance by creating and fostering a positive, can-do attitude and outlook on an ongoing basis.
