To grow our work and reach more people, we need to understand the stories, experiences and outcomes of the people we support. We need evidence — not just numbers, but human truths. As our Monitoring & Evaluation Lead, you will help us capture this insight with care, dignity and rigour.

Your work will help us improve our programmes, secure funding, campaign for change and ensure that every person who comes to SUNSHINE receives the support they truly need.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Building SUNSHINE’s Monitoring & Evaluation Framework

• Develop simple, accessible tools to capture data, feedback and outcomes.

• Ensure our approach is warm, trauma‑informed and participant‑centred.

• Create systems that volunteers can use confidently and consistently.

2. Understanding the People We Support

• Gather insights into the experiences, needs and challenges of people facing loneliness.

• Analyse trends, themes and stories that help us understand who we’re reaching — and who we’re not.

• Ensure SUNSHINE stays rooted in the lived realities of our participants.

3. Measuring the Impact of Our Programmes

• Track changes in confidence, wellbeing, connection and belonging.

• Capture both quantitative data and powerful qualitative stories.

• Help us understand what’s working, what needs improving and what we should build next.

4. Supporting Campaigning & Fundraising With Evidence

• Provide data and insights that strengthen grant applications and partnership proposals.

• Help shape awareness campaigns with real stories and real impact.

• Build the evidence base that shows why SUNSHINE matters.

5. Helping SUNSHINE Grow Across London

• Ensure our monitoring systems can scale as we expand.

• Recommend improvements that make our services stronger, safer and more effective.

• Help us build a model that can grow across London — and eventually beyond.

Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

As we prepare for our public launch, we’re looking for a Communications Lead who can help us build excitement, visibility and movement‑energy around our brand. Someone who can turn our mission into stories, moments and messages that make people stop, feel, care — and get involved.

Trusteeship for Thetford Heritage Trust

Location: Thetford

Salary:  Voluntary

Thetford Heritage Trust are in the process of becoming a newly formed charity, they are seeking Trustees to join its Board as it embarks on an exciting programme of work to unlock the heritage potential of the Norfolk Town of Thetford.

The Trust has been set up to preserve and maintain Thetford’s many historic buildings and to develop a community heritage and arts centre to support and promote the town’s rich heritage and encourage local participation in the performing and creative arts

The Trust is looking to recruit five independent trustees with experience in charity governance, architectural heritage, finance, creative and performance arts and fundraising. They will join the five members of Thetford Town Council already appointed to the new board. 

This is a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in guiding the development of Thetford’s architectural and cultural heritage for future generations.

Time commitment: initially, in the setting up period, board meetings will be held bi-monthly, the time commitment will be up to 6 hours per month.

As the Trust progresses, board meetings will reduce to 4 meetings per year. Trustees are expected to attend these and to devote sufficient time to read through the board papers in advance. There may be other events that trustees are invited to attend, and other opportunities to get involved.

Meetings will be held either electronically by Microsoft Teams or in person in the Guildhall in Thetford on a Wednesday or Thursday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. From time to time, additional meetings may be necessary. 

Terms of office: our trustees can serve up to 2 three-year terms for a maximum of 6 years. 

Trustee expenses: all reasonable expenses incurred by trustees to attend meetings will be reimbursed. 

Overall purpose of the role: our trustees are legally responsible for the governance of Thetford Heritage Trust. This means they must make sure that the Trust achieves its objectives, as set out in our governing document. They ensure we have a strategy, and that our assets and resources are only used for charitable purposes in line with our governing document.

Our trustees make sure that we operate in line with any relevant laws, particularly the Charities and Companies Acts. Trustees have a collective responsibility – to work together for the best interests of the Thetford Heritage Trust.

• Making sure Thetford Heritage Trust (the Trust) pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its governing document, by ensuring that suitable strategies, plans and policies are in place.

• Ensuring the Trust complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

Leadership

• Ensuring that the Trust applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects and ensuring the financial stability of the Trust.
• Ensuring that there are appropriate policies and procedures in place for the effective and efficient administration of the Trust.
• Protecting and managing the property entrusted to the Trust and ensuring the proper investment of the charity’s funds.
• Representing the board’s agreed position when speaking publicly on behalf of the Trust.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Cats Protection helps thousands of cats every year. Our fundraising volunteers play a vital role in making this possible. By using your passion for cats and people, you’ll help raise the funds needed to support more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we’ll support you to get involved in a way that suits you best. Whether you enjoy organising events, fundraising online, promoting activities on social media, helping with administration, or coming up with fresh ideas — there’s a place for you here. Whatever your skills or interests, this could be the perfect role.

What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork
• Championing our work – helping to develop new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement
• Photography – capturing images of cats in care, cats we’re helping, fundraising events, and all things Cats Protection

Time commitment

This role is flexible and designed to fit around your other commitments. You’ll be part of a friendly team raising vital funds — and having fun along the way.
