Purpose of Role 

As a MumsAid Cheer Squad Volunteer, you’ll be the energetic, encouraging presence along the fundraising event route. Your cheers and support will motivate participants, help them reach the finish line, and make each event memorable for everyone involved. 

What will you be doing? 

• Cheer, clap, and use provided materials to boost participants’ energy and motivation. 

• Be part of a team creating a lively, positive, and fun atmosphere. 

• Engage with participants and their families, celebrating their efforts. 

• Help make MumsAid events inspiring and memorable.

• Keeping the shop floor well stocked, clean and coordinated
• Processing sales and serving at the till
• Signing up gift aid donors
• Stock rotation
• Identifying special or valuable items within donated stock

Our green charity looks after dozens of spaces around the East Midlands, including Denefields Meadows in Matlock.

What does a Helpline Volunteer do?
FamilyLine operates as Family Action’s National Helpline, open Monday – Friday, 9am – 7pm to anyone 18+ experiencing challenges related to family life. Volunteers use a digital system to volunteer from their own home, offering listening & emotional support, suggestions, guidance & signposting via telephone, webchat and text messages. Volunteers are trained to support using an empathetic, people-focused approach to ensure everyone who accesses the service feels included and receives the support they need. Volunteers are also able to make referrals to other services, such as FamilyLine’s Counselling & Befriending service, or the Family Action grants programme.

How often would I need to volunteer?
FamilyLine volunteers choose the days & times for their own shifts of at least 2 hours per week. We are looking for a commitment of at least 12 months.

Recruitment and Training:
All applications will be shortlisted for interview. Those successful will be invited to our group training sessions.

We support our Haringey residents in making positive changes in their alcohol or substance use recovery journey. We have one-to-one, group, and counselling services all under one roof. We understand that many people who want help with their substance use also face challenges with other areas including housing, employment, benefits, gambling, and smoking – we’re here to help.

You'll help people access the support they need by contacting clients, arranging appointments and assisting with clinic bookings. You'll also help keep our records accurate and up to date, supporting important projects that improve health outcomes for the people we work with.

This is a great opportunity to develop administration and communication skills, gain experience in a health and wellbeing setting, and make a real difference in your local community.
