HELP US LAUNCH MINDSET — AND CHANGE MEN & BOYS’ LIVES IN LONDON
We’re ideally seeking volunteers from London, but we welcome passionate volunteers from across England who can join meetings and support us virtually as we build something powerful.
We’re MINDSET Charity, a bold new start‑up in London on a mission to equip and empower men and boys with the tools they need for better mental health, stronger resilience and long‑term personal growth.
We’re creating a stigma‑free space where men and boys can learn real, practical, non‑clinical skills that help them build better habits, better mindsets and better lives. From 1:1 Life Coaching, to 6‑ and 12‑week self‑improvement programmes, to school workshops for teenage boys, we’re building a movement that will transform futures.
And right now, we’re getting ready to launch — and we need a volunteer for the role of Administrator to help us build the foundations that make everything run smoothly.
YOUR IMPACT WILL BE HUGE
Joining MINDSET at this early stage means you’re not just “doing admin” — you’re helping build the operational backbone of a charity that will change lives across London.
Your work will directly influence:
how quickly we can register as a charity.
how organised and efficient our teams become.
how smoothly our programmes run.
how safe and compliant our operations are.
how ready we are to launch in the next few months.
You’ll be part of the engine room — the calm, structured, reliable force that keeps everything moving.
THE ROLE: ADMINISTRATOR (VOLUNTEER)
As an Administrator (Volunteer), you’ll help us stay organised, structured and efficient by supporting day‑to‑day admin tasks, managing documents, creating templates, organising files, and helping build the internal systems that keep MINDSET running smoothly.
This role is perfect for someone who loves clarity, structure, organisation and being the person who makes things happen behind the scenes.
WHAT YOU’LL HELP US BUILD
1. Admin & Organisation
Creating and organising folders.
Drafting templates (forms, checklists, documents).
Formatting policies and procedures.
Managing shared drives and internal systems.
Supporting communication between teams.
2. Compliance & Documentation
Reviewing policies for clarity.
Formatting governance documents.
Supporting charity registration tasks.
Helping maintain compliance records.
Assisting with safeguarding, data protection and health & safety paperwork.
3. Start‑Up Support
Helping build our internal infrastructure.
Supporting the Leadership Team with admin tasks.
Ensuring documents are accessible, organised and easy to use.
Helping create the systems that future teams will rely on.
WE’RE NOT JUST LOOKING FOR ANYONE
We’re especially interested in people who:
thrive on the challenge of setting up a new charity;
enjoy organising, structuring and improving systems;
have an eye for detail and clarity;
bring calm, order and reliability to a fast‑moving start‑up;
aren’t afraid to get stuck in and work hands‑on with volunteers;
want to help create a charity that will make a real difference in men’s lives.
If you’re someone who loves building strong foundations — this is your moment.

Directly supervising and supporting team members, providing feedback to ensure the quality of the programme remains high
Delivering effective inductions to transfer key skills/knowledge to team members

The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with children specifically in the refugee context

A nurturing and collaborative working environment. We work hard to help our team members grow; investing in personal and professional development.
Accommodation in a shared house
Transportation to/from work
After completion of a three-month trial, if you commit long-term, a small monthly expenses refund
In certain periods of the year, demand is extremely high, and the shared houses might be full. If you have the means to pay for your own accommodation, please let us know. We would still be happy to host you if space is available. However, in a situation where the shared houses are full, this would allow us to offer an opportunity to someone that cannot afford to pay rent.
Looking for an internship?
If, because of your degree or for any other reason, you would like to have your period at Second Tree credited as an internship, just apply to the vacancy that you’re interested in and mention this. We have agreements with several universities across Europe, and in many other cases, these agreements can be developed on an ad hoc basis.
We challenge the biases that make us see refugees as “the other”. We change the way society perceives refugees, and refugees perceive society.

Hold leadership to account: monitor finances, performance, and outcomes
Ensure governance excellence: make decisions in the best interests of learners and stakeholders
Act as a charity trustee: ensure financial sustainability and legal compliance
You’ll also engage with senior leaders and external stakeholders, including local employers, regulators, and community partners.

We welcome professionals from a broad range of sectors, including but not limited to:
Finance, Audit & Risk

HELP US LAUNCH MINDSET — AND CHANGE MEN & BOYS’ LIVES IN LONDON
We’re ideally seeking volunteers from London, but we welcome passionate volunteers from across England who can join meetings virtually and help us build strong, safe and transparent financial foundations.
We’re MINDSET Charity, a bold new start‑up in London on a mission to equip and empower men and boys with the tools they need for better mental health, stronger resilience and long‑term personal growth.
We’re creating a stigma‑free movement — a space where men and boys can learn real, practical, non‑clinical skills that help them build better habits, better mindsets and better lives. From 1:1 Life Coaching, to 6‑ and 12‑week self‑improvement programmes, to school workshops for teenage boys, we’re building something powerful.
And right now, we’re getting ready to launch — and we need a Volunteer Treasurer to help us build the financial systems, controls and confidence that will underpin everything we do.
YOUR IMPACT WILL BE HUGE
Joining MINDSET as our Treasurer at this early stage means you’re not stepping into a traditional finance role — you’re becoming part of the founding leadership of a charity with ambition, energy and purpose.
Your work will directly influence:
how quickly we can register as a charity;
how strong, safe and transparent our financial systems become;
how confidently we can deliver programmes;
how responsibly we grow and scale;
how sustainable our long‑term future is.
You’ll be the financial heartbeat of a charity that will change lives across London.
THE ROLE: TREASURER (VOLUNTEER)
As our Treasurer, you’ll oversee MINDSET’s financial health and help us build strong, transparent systems from day one. You’ll guide the Board on financial decision‑making, ensure compliance with UK charity regulations, and help us grow responsibly and sustainably.
This role is ideal for someone with UK accounting or finance experience who wants to use their skills to make a meaningful difference.
WHAT YOU’LL HELP US BUILD
1. Financial Oversight
Maintaining accurate financial records and accounts.
Supporting the development of budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
Advising the Board on financial strategy, sustainability and risk.
Overseeing banking, payments, donations and financial controls.
2. Compliance & Governance
Ensuring compliance with UK charity finance and reporting requirements.
Supporting charity registration and financial documentation.
Helping build systems that meet best practice standards.
Preparing clear, simple financial reports for Trustee meetings.
3. Start‑Up Leadership
Helping design financial systems suitable for a new charity.
Bringing clarity, confidence and structure to our early operations.
Supporting the Leadership Team with financial insight.
Helping build the foundations that future teams will rely on.
WE’RE NOT JUST LOOKING FOR ANYONE
We’re especially interested in people who:
have UK accounting or finance experience;
enjoy building systems, structure and clarity;
bring calm, steady judgement to a fast‑moving start‑up;
understand financial controls, risk and compliance;
want to help build a charity that will make a real difference;
care deeply about men’s wellbeing, resilience and personal growth.
If you’re someone who loves building strong financial foundations — this is your moment.
