Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

Talkthru is a specialist counselling charity based in Huddersfield, offering free, confidential support to individuals and families affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and other birth-related trauma. We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Has experience or strong interest in content creation
• Understands how to handle sensitive topics (e.g., trauma, grief) with care
• Is a thoughtful communicator and a strong storyteller (written and/or visual)
• Is comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
• Has experience with Canva, social media scheduling tools, or basic video editing (a bonus, not essential)

Proxy by IWI is dedicated to fostering thoughtful and engaged feminist responses to mainstream media, popular culture, legal issues, and advocacy.

Published daily, Proxy is committed to delivering ambitious and distinctive journalism. The publication covers topics that are of greatest significance to women’s human rights, focusing on people, ideas, laws and institutions from a feminist viewpoint and extending beyond. Proxy features original investigative reporting, insightful analysis, compelling arguments, and personal reflections, all designed to offer a multifaceted feminist take on current affairs.

Principal Responsibilities

· Maintain a thorough understanding of global trends and developments concerning women's human rights.

· Submit two articles per month for publication, each typically between 600 and 800 words in length.

· Ensure accuracy by obtaining supplementary material and further information from archives, reference libraries, and                  interviews with informed individuals.

· Conduct interviews in a variety of circumstances as required.

· Establish and maintain contacts to facilitate news gathering, including relationships with the police, emergency services,            local councils, community groups, health trusts, press officers from various organisations, and members of the public as            needed.

· Work collaboratively with the IWI and Proxy team to produce clear and precise content in accordance with house style              guidelines.

· Undertake research and write feature articles, occasionally contributing to subsidiary publications and supplements.

Requirements

· A minimum of four years’ experience in research and/or reporting.

· Proven interpersonal and collaborative abilities, able to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Flexibility, initiative, and robust problem-solving skills.

· Experience within multicultural settings and an awareness of cross-cultural differences.

· Dedication to promoting women’s human rights.

· Strong listening skills.

· Outstanding writing skills, including adaptability in writing styles and responsiveness to editorial guidance.

As Volunteer Company Secretary, you will be the "conscience of the charity," ensuring that our Trustee and Executive Team operates within its legal and regulatory framework to ensure our beneficiaries receive the highest standard of care and support. 

This is a vital role at the heart of the charity’s operations and offers the opportunity to help shape the governance of a high-impact charity. 

You will provide the bridge between the Board and the executive team, contributing directly to the Trust’s mission by underpinning strong governance and accountability at Board level. By ensuring compliance, transparency, and well-run meetings, you will support the Trustee and executive team to make informed strategic decisions that enhance opportunities, independence, and wellbeing for adults with neuro-disabilities. 

You will:  

• Manage our core administration, ensuring governance and compliance documents, records and processes are kept up to date; including managing filings with Companies House and the Charity Commission, and managing the conflicts of interest register.
• Support the Board and CEO with meeting management; helping to prepare agendas, minutes, board packs and maintain a robust rolling action log.
• Ensure good governance, keeping us aligned with legal and regulatory requirements; always advising best practice and updating the board on the Charity Governance Code.
• Support the Trustee onboarding process, helping us to stay structured and efficient. 
• Be the organisational backbone, helping Minstead Trust to stay steady, safe and well run.

What are we looking for?  

• Commitment to our Mission: an understanding of, or interest in, the challenges faced by those living with neuro-disabilities and a willingness to lead according to our values.

A bit about this role...

Every penny counts when it comes to improving the lives of the thousands of cats and kittens across the UK that need our help each year. Our Collection Box Volunteers help us raise vital funds by collecting and distributing collection boxes in their local area. Making a difference can mean as little as raising 20p, which is enough to feed one cat in our care for a day, to £150 which is the average cost of a cat in our care.

What can I expect to be doing?

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following:

• Researching local shops, pubs and businesses to place Collection Boxes
• Delivering Collection Boxes to locations
• Recording donations and thanking local businesses and supporters
• Collecting and replacing Collection boxes when they're full
• Sharing your passion for cat welfare and promoting the work of Cats Protection

What are the benefits to you and the cats?

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser. You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of Volunteers.
Money raised by our volunteers enables us to put cats first. Cats are at the centre of all we do. We care for them, ensure their welfare, and help others to understand and better support them.

How much time is expected of me?

Our Collection Tin Volunteer role is very flexible and can be completed at your own pace, independently with our dedicated support.

South East London (SEL) Mind is a highly regarded, innovative local charity working alongside people with mental health problems and dementia in their local communities to improve their quality of life. With an annual turnover of £8m, 250 staff and over 200 volunteers, we are one of the largest charities in the Mind network. SEL Mind was formed through the merger of Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind and Lambeth & Southwark Mind in January 2024.

Duties of trustees & directors

• Support and direct Change Agents UK’s vision, goals, strategy and activities.
• Actively promote and champion the work of the Change Agents UK, amplifying messages, campaigns and supporting our growth
• Approve (as part of the Board and with input from the Executive Team) financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
• Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
• Review and approve Change Agents UK’s financial statements (with the advice of an Independent Examiner/Auditor).
• Provide support and challenge to the CEO/Executive Team
• Keep abreast of changes in Change Agents UK’s operating environment and charity regulation

Role Summary

The Financial Specialist supports Solution Community's financial infrastructure by maintaining accurate records, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance across financial processes. You will report to and work closely with the CFO, Finance Team, and Operations to ensure financial accuracy, audit readiness, and efficient workflows that support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Recordkeeping

• Maintain accurate financial records, including A/P, A/R, reimbursements, and expense tracking.

• Support monthly reconciliations across accounts, digital tools, and financial platforms.

• Organize and maintain digital financial documentation for audit readiness.

Budgeting & Reporting Support

• Assist with preparing budget drafts, forecasts, and spending summaries.

• Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial reports for leadership and stakeholders.

• Track program and departmental spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Support adherence to nonprofit financial regulations, internal policies, and documentation standards.

• Assist with grant reporting requirements and donor financial documentation.

• Help maintain internal controls, approval workflows, and financial governance practices.

Process Improvement & Systems Support

• Contribute to the development and refinement of financial procedures, templates, and tools.

• Support the implementation of financial systems that improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.

Qualifications

Required

• 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or nonprofit financial operations.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to work with financial tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, or similar platforms).

• Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a remote, digital environment.

• Integrity, confidentiality, and alignment with Solution Community’s mission and values.

Preferred

• Experience with nonprofit financial compliance (e.g., 501(c)(3) reporting, grant tracking).

• Familiarity with digital finance tools (e.g., Dext, Plooto, ApprovalMax, Expensify).

• Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, or financial clean-up projects.

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, and our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. 

Cats are at the centre of everything we do, and our objectives are homing, neutering and educating people about cats and their care.

We help thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers, employees and supporters.

A bit about this role... 

Please note - Due to the nature of fundraising roles, our volunteers must be over the age of 18. 

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Whatever your skill set, this role could be perfect for you! 

What can I expect to be doing? 

As a flexible role, you have the choice to be involved in the following: 

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping with our fundraising events, attending supermarket collections or local markets. 

• Distributing collection tins – popping collection tins into local shops and pubs and collecting them when they’re full. 

• Bringing new ideas! - We always love to come up with new ideas to raise funds for cats and we’d love to help bring yours to life. 

• Engaging with your local branches and Fundraising Hub and feeling like an integral part of the team! 

What are the benefits to you and the cats? 

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge though Cats Protection’s learn online system, providing you with the skills to thrive as a fundraiser.  You’ll also have the chance to meet new people and be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.
Money raised by our volunteers enables us to put cats first. Cats are at the centre of all we do. We care for them, ensure their welfare, and help others to understand and better support them.

How much time is expected of me? 

Our Fundraising Volunteer roles are very flexible, often certain times of the year are busier than others. You can choose your level of involvement to suit your schedule!

Support, guidance and keeping you safe 

At Cats Protection we believe our volunteers should be happy and confident in their roles. We provide support and guidance from our National Cat Centre and through our regional and local volunteer groups and teams. We offer engaging online and face-to-face training, expenses and have policies and processes to help volunteers get the most out of their time with us. 

The wellbeing of our people is important and at Cats Protection we are committed to safeguarding children, adults at risk and all those that we encounter as part of our activities.
