• Promoting and developing the charity to help it grow and maintain its public benefit.
• Maintaining sound financial management and control of the charity’s resources.
• Ensuring a fully effective and appropriate system recruitment, for appointment the and monitoring of the work and activities for the CEO and Senior Management team.
• Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the charity and its resources, striving for best practice in good governance.
• Maintaining absolute confidentiality about all aspects of Trustees’ business

• Rebuild with Hope develops an effective strategy in line with the core values of the organisation
• All Board Members are fully involved in discussions and decisions, and the contribution of individual Members is monitored. The Chair will encourage group decision making, teamwork, and a sense of shared purpose, and will foster a sense of inclusivity and shared mission by informing the Board at each meeting of any ‘Chair’s business’ which has taken place since the last meeting
• The Board’s agenda is appropriate and focuses on the key strategic issues, all planned business is dealt with in an equitable, fair manner and a conclusion is reached in each case, and that decisions are clearly and accurately minuted
• The Board continually monitors Rebuild with Hope’s progress, and that Board Members have regular, timely and relevant information on strategic and financial issues and key risks
• Board Members have a proper knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities
• The Board delegates, as appropriate, to its Committees and to its Chief Executive
• Regular reviews of Board, Committee and Chief Executive performance are undertaken, and a programme of development processes for the Board, its Members, and the Chief Executive is established

• Ensuring that staff create sound financial instruments for the control of charity assets
• Advising on the financial implications the Charity's Strategic Plan
• Ensuring that the annual accounts are compliant with the current charities’ SORP
• Ensuring close working relationships with the internal audit team and any Committees of the Board
• Ensuring that sound financial management is maintained and ensuring expenditure is in line with the charity’s objects
• Acting as a counter signatory on charity cheques and any applications and receipts of funding (if mandated)

About us:

Business Launchpad (BLP) is an enterprise charity based in Tooting, in the London Borough of Wandsworth. We support young people aged 18 to 30 to start and grow their own businesses, access employment, and build skills for economic independence.

Our core programmes are:

• Pathways, our flagship 12-week enterprise cohort programme, guiding young people from idea to early-stage business.

• Business Lab, a 6-week pipeline programme for young people exploring enterprise as a route forward.

• Career Connect, our annual employability fair connecting young people with employers and opportunities.

About this Volunteer role:

Location: Tooting Works, Tooting, London SW17

Duration: Minimum 4 weeks, up to 12 weeks (flexible by arrangement)

Hours: Part-time or full-time by arrangement

Remuneration: Volunteer

This role sits within our Programmes and Delivery team. You will work alongside our Programme Coordinator on the recruitment, onboarding and administrative tasks that keep our programmes running day to day.

It is a practical role with real responsibility. You will see how a charity programme team works from the inside, including how we bring young people onto our programmes, track their progress and stay in contact with partners and referrers.

What You Will do:

Recruitment and Participant Outreach:

• Support recruitment campaigns for Pathways and Business Lab across digital channels.

• Help manage the enquiries inbox and respond to initial expressions of interest.

Onboarding and Administration:

• Help prepare and send out welcome packs, joining instructions and programme information.

• Assist with collecting participant documents, consent forms and eligibility evidence.

• Help communicate session timetables and any changes to participants.

Programme Administration:

• Help prepare session materials, including printing, digital uploads and room or resource coordination.

• Maintain recruitment progress tracking spreadsheets.

• Assist with gathering participant feedback to support our monitoring and evaluation.

Communications Support:

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the programme team, including sending emails, texts messages and making phone calls with programme participants.

• Follow up new leads for programme interest and support with discovery chat bookings and follow ups.

What We Are Looking For:

You do not need previous charity experience. We are looking for someone reliable and well organised who genuinely wants to support young people. We will give you the training and supervision you need to do the role well.

Volunteering Arrangements

The placement is based at Tooting Works in South London. Some tasks may be done remotely, depending on the stage of the programme cycle, and this can be agreed with your line manager.

We ask volunteers to commit to their agreed hours and to give notice if they cannot attend. We will agree a schedule at the start that works for both of us.

Volunteers are essential to Shannon Trust and bring their energy, ideas and skills to train mentors in prisons, support learners in the community and enhance our business support team.

We are looking for volunteers to provide training and support to our mentors in prison. There may be some additional preparation and/ or administrative tasks in between volunteering days at the prison.

Our prison volunteers nurture the growth of the Shannon Trust in their prison. They help unlock the power of reading by delivering training sessions for prison mentors and offering ongoing advice, guidance and support through mentor meetings.

Volunteer recruitment dates

The closing date for applications to attend our next round of training is 24 January 2027. In some circumstances, volunteer vacancies may close early. Successful applicants will be sent interview questions in advance with notice to prepare. We will respond to all applications. Successful applicants will be invited to an interview between 25 January and 5 February 2027. This is an opportunity for you to meet our regional team, to find out more about you and for us to share more information about the volunteering role.

Training:

You'll be given high quality training to prepare you for volunteering with Shannon Trust. This takes place over 4 training sessions and via our online training portal. We ask that volunteers aim to complete the training in one course as this means that you will be ready to start actively volunteering. The next training sessions for volunteering for people applying to be a prison based volunteer will take place as follows.

Lead Volunteer Role Description

• To update the Volunteers’ Rota from the Court diary and ensure that each Volunteer in the team and the CCSS office has a copy. Wherever possible, the Rota should be kept on a computer for updating and emailed to the rest of the team and the office. 

• Ensure sufficient numbers of Volunteers are on duty for effective and appropriate support for bereaved families and witnesses who attend the Inquests.

• To arrange and re-arrange the Rota between the Volunteers, noting any holiday or leave of absence dates.

• Ensure a finalised Rota is sent to the office at the end of each month in order for volunteer expenses to be checked and processed.

• To ensure that all the Volunteers have each other’s contact details and the Volunteer emergency contact details are included in the court file and updated when changes occur.

• To ensure monthly and yearly statistics are kept up to date and to send the Monthly Statistics to the Volunteer who collates the stats at the end of each month.

• To ensure there are sufficient Report Forms for the Volunteers’ use if collecting stats in paper format.  If alternative methods of collecting stats are used, to ensure that the team are all using the same method.

• To inform the Operations & Training Manager and the CCSS office of the need for more Volunteers or of any leavers.

• To assist with the recruitment interviews and induction of new Volunteers.

• Responsible for the support of new Volunteers and their final sign off.  Where the Lead Volunteer has concerns about the level of support required or the competency of a new Volunteer, they should refer those concerns to the Operations & Training Manager.

• To organise Volunteer team meetings (minimum of 3 meetings per year) and to inform the Operations & Training Manager and the CCSS office via email of the dates of these so they can attend if necessary/appropriate.

• To immediately refer any serious concerns raised by the Coroner or Coroner’s Officers to the CEO.

• To inform the CEO immediately of any issues or concerns that arises at the Court that might impact on the CCSS.

• To provide local information for the Helpline Court Information Sheet when requested.

• To ensure the team follow the practices of the court and work in partnership with the court staff.
• To forward any testimonials about the support provided by our volunteers to the CCSS office.

• Responsibility for maintaining the stock of CCSS leaflets.

• Organise cover for themselves when they are on holiday or need to take time off.

Who are LRMN? 

We offer refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants a specialist and holistic service. We  advocate for people’s rights, campaign for wider change, meet their basic needs and help them improve their wellbeing. 

Why do we need you? 

Triage volunteers are an essential part of our team, making sure that clients are able to access the right service. You will deal with initial client enquiries (in person, over the phone or by email), assess what support clients need and help the access the right service for them.  This might be with us, a partner or another external service. 

Our triage team is integral to the smooth running of LRMN. Without them our advisors wouldn’t be able to provide life changing support to the people who access our services. 

Our triage team are the first people that clients will talk to so it is essential that we offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space and give them the right information about the services we offer. Given the demand that we face, volunteers help us do that. 

What activities will you be involved in? 

As part of our triage team, you will volunteer alongside staff and fellow volunteers to: 

• Welcome clients to our Migrant Hub and speak to them about their needs

• Help clients and referrers understand the services we offer and how to access them

• Respond to new referrals and upload them onto our case management system

• Contact clients to book in appointments and follow up referrals 

• Take on other administrative tasks as identified from time to time 

As you become more experienced, you may be involved in giving basic advice, providing  support letters and other duties. 

Our triage volunteers are based at our Migrant Hub drop-in service (in Woolwich on Tuesdays)

You will be supervised by the Migrant Hub Coordinator and liaise with all staff across the organisation as appropriate.

Is there induction and training? 

Yes, we provide a comprehensive induction to all new volunteers. This covers roles and  responsibilities, safeguarding, record keeping and use of our client management system  (Advice Pro).

You will be provided with the training needed to perform the role and will have the opportunity to join training with the whole LRMN team.

About Future Dreams

Future Dreams is a breast cancer charity providing practical, emotional and wellbeing support for people affected by breast cancer.

At Future Dreams House in King’s Cross, we offer a wide range of classes, workshops, one-to-one services, support and educational activities, helping people feel supported throughout and beyond their breast cancer experience.

We are looking for organised, reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to provide administrative support to our Programmes & Services team and help us ensure that our activities run smoothly.

About the role

This is a practical, hands-on volunteer role supporting the behind-the-scenes administration involved in delivering our programme of workshops, classes and one-to-one services.

You will work alongside the Future Dreams team and help with a range of tasks, which may include:

• Creating simple banner images in Canva to promote workshops and activities.
• Creating timetables and signage in Canva for immersive days and events at Future Dreams House.
• Adding workshops, classes and one-to-one appointments to our Momence booking system.
• Updating, cancelling or rescheduling workshops and one-to-one appointments.
• Emailing customers about cancellations, timetable changes or rescheduled appointments.
• Checking information is accurate and up to date across our booking system and programme materials.
• Supporting the team with general administrative tasks as required.

Full guidance and training on Future Dreams systems and processes will be provided.

 About you

We are particularly looking for volunteers who are dependable, organised and comfortable working independently once trained.

You will ideally have:

• Good general IT and administrative skills.
• Experience using Canva, or confidence using similar design software.
• Basic graphic design skills and a good eye for presentation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• Confidence managing calendars, schedules or booking systems.
• Clear and professional written communication skills.
• A calm, flexible and practical approach to problem-solving.
• The confidence to ask questions when something is unclear.
• A commitment to confidentiality and handling information appropriately.
• A genuine interest in the work of Future Dreams and supporting people affected by breast cancer.

Previous experience of Momence is not required, as training will be provided.

Consistency and reliability are particularly important for this role. Our programmes run throughout the week and the administrative work behind them is essential to providing a good experience for our visitors.

We are therefore looking for volunteers who can make a regular commitment and become a trusted part of the team, rather than providing occasional ad-hoc support.
