Gardening Volunteer – Day Care Centre

What You’ll Do

Support the development and maintenance of our allotment space at the Mabel Churn Day Care Centre. You’ll help create a calm, welcoming outdoor environment where older people can enjoy nature, take part in light gardening activities, and connect with others.

You will:

· Help maintain the allotment space (e.g. watering, weeding, planting, harvesting)

· Support the set-up and upkeep of planting areas, raised beds, or pots

· Encourage and support clients to get involved in simple gardening tasks

· Help keep the outdoor space safe, tidy, and accessible

· Work with staff to plan seasonal planting or small garden projects

· Report any concerns or maintenance needs to staff

Skills You’ll Use or Develop

· Interest in gardening or outdoor activities (no expert knowledge needed)

· Friendly and patient approach when engaging with older people

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Basic understanding of health and safety in an outdoor setting

· Creativity and initiative in developing the space

Communications Team Lead (Volunteer)

We are seeking a creative and experienced Communications Team Lead to play a vital role in raising awareness of the mission of Bounds Green Food Bank and drive donations. They will be responsible for leading a team of volunteers and assisting the team in coming up with creative ways to spread the word of the food bank.
 

About Bounds Green Food Bank: 

Open since June 2020, we serve over 4,600 children and adults in the community. We are committed to improving lives by providing food and essential household items to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow. We strive to promote social inclusion by supporting people who find themselves in a crisis situation where they need assistance to feed themselves and their families.

The role: 

• Create and lead on communication campaigns and initiatives to raise funds, recruit volunteers and promote our impact

• Manage a fantastic Communications Team of remote volunteers with specific roles (social media, website management, business partnership, graphics and community liaison), providing guidance and managing workload

• Work closely with the Fundraising Lead to create effective fundraising campaigns through newsletters, social media, flyers, events and our website.

• Liaise with the other team leads via a group chat and occasional team meetings, staying up to date with changes across the charity and providing input from the Comms Team

Person specification: 

• Previous experience in marketing, communications, or related fields preferred.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and inspire a team of volunteers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

About Us

The New Normal are a growing charity whose mission is to change the way we discuss our grief, mental health and wellbeing in open and honest spaces. We believe that nobody should ever feel isolated, and there is always someone who will relate to your story. “If there’s one, there’s two.”

We run free virtual and in-person peer support meetings for adults facing life’s difficult moments, particularly bereavement.

Kitchen Assistant – Day Care Centre 

What You’ll Do

Work alongside the chef to help prepare and serve food for older people attending the centre. You’ll assist with food prep, keeping the kitchen clean, and ensuring mealtimes run smoothly.

You will:

· Prepare ingredients (e.g. peel and chop vegetables)

· Help make tea and coffee trays

· Wash dishes and maintain hygiene standards

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a registered charity supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual exploitation through street-based prostitution, trafficking and other vulnerabilities. We offer outreach, a weekly drop-in, casework and relationship-based support to women who are too often neglected and stigmatised. We are looking for an experienced, motivated volunteer fundraiser to help us grow our income, raise awareness of the women we serve, and make sure this work can continue.

WOFM exists to bring dignity, safety and hope to vulnerable and exploited women in East London. Our work is practical and relational: meeting women where they are, building trust over time, and walking with them towards a more stable future. The role

As our Volunteer Fundraiser, you will help shape and deliver our fundraising strategy and turn it into real income. You will be a key part of securing the resources that sustain and grow our frontline support for women. • Help develop and deliver WOFM’s fundraising strategy and annual income goals.

Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure is a small, friendly charity based in Southwark, providing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities. We believe everyone should have the chance to express themselves, connect with others, and take part in activities that bring joy, confidence, and new skills.

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Drama Class Volunteer to support our weekly Friday afternoon sessions (1.30-3.30), held at St Faith’s Community Centre, Red Post Hill, SE24 9JQ (close to North Dulwich and Herne Hill stations). This position would begin in September 2026, however we would like applicants to apply in advance of this date so we can organise a taster session in the class before the summer break.

About The Role

We're looking for someone with a background in drama to support our tutor in delivering accessible and fun drama sessions for a small group of adults with learning disabilities. Each year, the group works towards a production which is performed at our end-of-year Summer Show, making this a fun, creative, and rewarding volunteering opportunity.

As a Drama Class Volunteer at Stepping Stones, you will:

• Encourage and support learners during rehearsals and performances
• Help with setting up props, costumes and resources for sessions
• Participate alongside learners where appropriate
• Offer 1:1 or group support where needed to help participants engage

We are looking for a Volunteer Shop Assistants to assist in the running of WFRC’s retail shop to maximise sales of new and used goods that help us to generate vital funds to support the vital services that we provide for women and families. You will be providing invaluable help in the operation of our charity shop

Principal Responsibilities:
- To serve customers and record purchases on the cash register
- To work with staff and other volunteers to sort, steam, hang, ticket and size donated
clothing for sale in the shop
- To help keep the shop clean.
- To assist with shop displays.
- Provide information leaflets and signpost any enquiries for WFRC services
- Comply with WFRC relevant Policies and Procedures
- Wear personal identity badge whilst volunteering
- Represent the professional standards of the charity

Safeguarding Team Volunteer

AuDHD UK

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Reports to: Designated Safeguarding Lead

Commitment: Flexible, part-time (details negotiable)

Role: Unpaid volunteer position

Purpose: To safeguard vulnerable adults accessing our services and address any potential safeguarding referrals that we receive within and outside of the organisation. The Safeguarding Team Volunteer will contribute to the completion of risk assessments for beneficiaries wishing to access our services, and complete incident logs for escalation to DSL/Deputy DSL where required. 

This role requires an Enhanced Adult DBS - please only apply if you meet the requirements for a DBS check to be carried out (a 5 year UK address history with a maximum of 12 months abroad AND a biometric passport/ID card for an online ID check).

• Respond to incidents and complete escalations where appropriate.

Risk Assessment & Policy Oversight

• Manage risk assessment case load, ensuring high standards of safeguarding is maintained.

• Be involved in the review and updating of AuDHD UK’s Safeguarding Framework and related policies.

Compliance & Governance

• Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records.

• Contribute to audits, reviews, and continuous improvement activities.

Training & Awareness

• Promote a culture of vigilance, accountability, and reflective practice.

Essential Skills & Attributes

• Recognised safeguarding training or substantial safeguarding experience.

• Adequate understanding of safeguarding considerations for AuDHD UK’s beneficiaries and best practice.

• Sound judgment, discretion, and empathy in complex situations.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to sensitive cases.

• Commitment to AuDHD UK’s mission and values.

• Lived experience of AuDHD (desired).

Time Commitment Estimate

• Risk assessment/Incident log completion: ~3 hours a week (this may be increased at times of increased activity within the charity e.g. before the beginning of Peer Support Cohort assignments)

• Safeguarding audits, governance, and meetings: 2–4 hrs/quarter
