Purpose of the Role:
Due to an ambitious strategy to increase our reach and revenue by 2027, and increasing demand for our legal services, we are ready to welcome an experienced Senior Legal Rights Team Manager to our Legal Rights Team.
We are looking for an experienced and organised individual to lead the delivery of our high-quality legal rights service, managing a team to ensure our services and support comply with regulatory obligations and remain up to date with the latest legal updates. This includes casework supervision within the team as well as managing your own caseload. The legal focus of the team’s work is within the health and social care field.
In addition, you will need to support the Director of Research and Support Services in managing our external relationships, evaluating and monitoring our service, devising and delivering training and supporting research and marketing activity. Additionally, you will use casework evidence to inform the Charity’s wider policy and advocacy strategies to achieve systematic change.
To be a success in this role, you should be an excellent communicator, proactive, flexible, highly organised and able to meet deadlines. This is a challenging but well-supported role, where you can make a large, career-defining impact for Cerebra and the children and families that we serve.

About This Job
This is an exciting training role in Army Cadet Headquarters responsible for assuring that First Responder training supported through ACCT UK for the Army Cadets is delivered in accordance with appropriate national governing bodies or appropriate awarding bodies, and that the appropriate qualifications are recorded on Westminster.

Brief role description
NOVA provides trauma-informed, person-centred support to UK Armed Forces veterans who are at risk of, or already in contact with the criminal justice system. NOVA operates across England (as Op NOVA), Scotland and Wales. We are now developing the service in Northern Ireland.
The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will manage and support a caseload of veterans, providing emotional and practical support across a range of factors including mental health and wellbeing, social stability, housing and employability. They will be working in collaboration with local partners to reduce reoffending.
The Caseworker for NOVA Northern Ireland will work in the community, in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI) and other local partners to provide support to veterans at all stages of the justice pathway: pre-arrest, point of arrest, court process, custody, and transition back into the community.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Deliver high-quality psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for the PATH client group.
·Provide specialist advice, consultation and reflective practice to colleagues and partner services.
·Facilitating reflective groups for families referred to PATH.
·Identify and manage safeguarding risk in line with AUK policies.
·Contribute to multidisciplinary formulation and intervention planning.
·Support service development, evaluation and quality improvement, using outcome measures and feedback.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in standing up to the housing emergency.
About the Role
You will support our solicitors to maintain an active caseload, enabling our clients to enforce their housing rights while ensuring a high standard of client care. Your role will be varied and will include taking instructions and witness statements, drafting letters, making applications, providing court representation and making sure time recording income targets and professional and quality standards are met. You will work closely with the team in Birmingham Hub to continuously improve and integrate our services.
About you
You will need a good understanding of Civil Procedure Rules, be able to write reports and meet financial targets, as well as being able to provide a good standard of professional service and client care. You will have excellent communication skills, both in writing/drafting and face-to-face along with proficiency using case management systems and time recording. If you have housing law experience and Legal Aid/ CCMS this would be an advantage but is not essential. You enjoy collaborating as part of a team and are able to encourage and support colleagues to meet Shelter’s strategy.
