Temporary, 12 month contract Contract, Full-time
Job description

We are looking for two motivated, well-organised and approachable individuals to join our Advice Team on a fixed-term twelve-month contract. The Advice Team is a crucial part of New Horizon’s services that support thousands of young people across London facing homelessness because of family breakdown, domestic abuse, poverty, experiences of violence, or war and persecution in their home country.

The post-holders will work to deliver our brand-new accommodation project, the first of its kind, delivering high quality, youth-specific emergency provision to young Londoners aged 18-24. Your role will be to offer advice and guidance to young people staying at the project, empowering them to move on efficiently into long-term accommodation and out of homelessness. The project will be delivered in partnership with DePaul and require collaborative working with a number of other stakeholders including specialist advice services, referral agencies and funders. You will be required to work regularly both from the project’s site in Hounslow and remotely from home.

Successful applicants will have the skills to effectively engage with and progress a complex caseload of young people who are currently homeless or at risk. To excel in this role you’ll need a broad knowledge of housing and homelessness, experience in delivering specialist advice services, and the ability to produce high-quality work within tight deadlines.

Please note, we will be reviewing applications regularly before the closing date and may close recruitment early if we receive a high number of suitable applications. We recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.

For as long as young people are homeless or in need in London, we will be on a mission to give their potential a home. If you share our mission, values and commitment to young people, we want to hear from you.
