Your Role
As our Community Engagement Officer, you'll inspire communities, volunteers, and supporters to help transform the lives of disabled children, young people, and their families.
Working as part of our passionate Fundraising and Advocacy team, you'll build meaningful relationships, grow fundraising, raise awareness, and help expand Challengers' impact in local communities.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Build and maintain relationships with local communities to grow fundraising income.

About you

About the role
The Company Partnership Fundraiser willgrow income from companies and organisations across the UK The role will focus primarily on employee-led fundraising and local business support, developing relationships that arise from personal connections to myeloma and growing these into long-term sources of income and engagement. They will build on local company opportunities often identified by the Community Fundraisers and promote Myeloma UK’s exciting range of events to encourage participation and support, as well as proactively identify new opportunities for company support.
You will work with Fundraising colleagues, collaboratively identifying wider fundraising opportunities such as community events, major donor, and legacy leads which can then be developed further by the relevant fundraising specialist in the team. The role will require travel throughout the UK to maximise engagement opportunities with supporters and income generation. The Head of Public Fundraising is a new role at Coeliac UK leading the charity’s public fundraising function. The role focusses on driving sustainable growth across individual giving, community fundraising, events, lottery, raffle, digital fundraising and merchandise. This role is responsible for delivering Coeliac UK’s 5-year fundraising strategy to maximise return-on-investment, grow long term supporter value, and contribute to the charity’s mission.

Who are we looking for?
Key to the success of this role is a strong understanding of individual giving fundraising. This role blends the strategic oversight and leadership of a Head of role across multiple income streams, with the hands-on expertise of an IG fundraiser. Experience across other income streams and areas of fundraising delivery would be a huge benefit as the role leads community fundraising and events, will take on digital fundraising - currently led by the Chief Engagement Officer, as well as manage the data and supporter care functions, but experience in individual giving is essential as Coeliac UK has defined that as an area of priority income. Could you be our new Fundraising and Events Coordinator at Destitute Animals Shelter?
We're looking for someone who not only loves and cares for animals but is also resilient and resourceful in dealing with humans! If you're the sort of person who isn't afraid to develop and try out new and creative ideas to put us out into the community, but who is also well experienced in raising funds and running events that make a real financial and social impact, this could be the role for you.
This is a brand-new position within our Shelter's small team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Everything we do is in service of our mission to Rescue, Love, Repeat, taking in animals who have nowhere else to go, giving them the care they need, and finding them the homes they deserve. You'll report to the Chair of our Fundraising and Promotion Committee and work closely with our Operations Manager, with strategy and support offered throughout. Your role will be operational, with a focus on delivery and community engagement, and you'll be encouraged to make your own mark on it as we grow.
Destitute Animals Shelter has developed a Fundraising Strategy for 2025 – 27, and we're looking to diversify our income streams to make sure we're hitting the financial targets that cover the rising costs of the good work we do daily at our Shelter. With support from the Committee, you'll help shape that strategy as well as deliver against it.

Reach Charity is a small volunteer-led national charity supporting children born with, or who acquire upper limb differences (ULD) in childhood, for the whole of their lives! Being born with/acquiring an ULD in childhood is rare. Our role in the Reach team is to support our volunteers in every way we can to keep Reach families connected and supported with and by their community as and when they need it for life. This role will help us sustain and potentially grow that level of support.
Contract: One-year fixed-term contract. The role will be reviewed before the end of the fixed term. Any extension, permanency or change to contracted hours will be subject to organisational need, funding and written agreement.

Core purpose of the role:
The Operations & Development Officer will provide high-quality operational, administrative and executive support to the Operations Lead and the wider Reach team.
