We're looking for a Media, Communications and Campaigns Lead to join UNJUST and lead our media, internal and external communications, and campaigns activity. Working closely with the Executive Director and Research and Policy Lead, you'll develop and deliver strategic communications that support our organisational goals, increase visibility and strengthen our advocacy and campaign efforts.
This is a varied role where you'll manage media enquiries, develop relationships with journalists, create content across our digital platforms, support public campaigns and ensure our research, engagement and policy work is communicated effectively. You'll also help amplify the voices of lived experience through ethical, accessible storytelling and prepare key messaging and briefing materials for media and political engagement.
We're looking for someone with experience in media and communications, excellent written and verbal communication skills, confidence working with journalists, and a strong understanding of the role strategic communications plays in advocacy. You'll be organised, collaborative and committed to UNJUST's values, anti-racism and ethical storytelling.

Content Creation and Development:

Stakeholder Engagement:

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. About the role
As Senior Supporter Retention Officer (Appeals and Islamic Giving), you will lead the development of supporter-led, multi-channel fundraising campaigns. You'll design bespoke supporter journeys for key audiences, including Islamic givers and mid-value supporters. You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with both long-standing and new supporters of MAP, helping to grow income from existing audiences to fund vital medical aid.

The GAMH Research, Policy and Advocacy Officer is a new post that will play a central role in advancing GAMH’s global policy and advocacy agenda, helping to strengthen and elevate the focus on the health and wellbeing of men within national, regional and global policy environments. The postholder will design and deliver policy advocacy initiatives, generate high-quality research, write reports and publications, support project coordination, engage stakeholders and partners, and support communications to influence decision-makers aimed at improving health and wellbeing outcomes for men and boys within a gender equality framework. The position will work across all GAMH workstreams, with a particular focus on men’s health in Europe, prostate cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programmes.

The Transforming Peace & Security Campaigner will lead Medact’s campaigning for healthcare spaces which truly centre health and health justice, not surveillance, profiling and policing, in addition to providing ongoing strategic support to members organising against war and nuclear threat.
This role will lead on our strategic priority area of Ending State Violence. The campaigner will implement campaign strategy focused on targeted organising to build coalitions and solidarity with marginalised communities, continuing our campaign against the Prevent duty in health, and supporting our Medact Abolitionist Approaches to Health Group. They’ll also work with our established Nuclear Weapons group to promote disarmament and encourage investment in nonviolent responses to conflict. The Role
Our Individual Giving programme is central to our fundraising strategy to increase our unrestricted, sustainable income. This is a key role in supporting the Individual Giving Manager to recruit and steward donors across a range of channels including face-to-face, telemarketing, direct mail and digital. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple programmes including regular giving, lottery, cash appeals, in-memory and legacy, as well as to play a key role in our matched funding Christmas campaign. This role will help to meet or exceed our annual targets which will help us provide the best care for patients, staff and loved ones at our hospitals.
Key Tasks
- Help to co-ordinate our match funded Christmas Campaign
- Using evidence-based insights, support with the planning and implementation of several integrated direct marketing campaigns across a range of channels including direct mail, email, social, display advertising and newsletters including managing suppliers on concept creation, oversight of copy and creative and delivery schedules. Work with the IG Manager on performance analysis and learnings to enable enhancements and improvements
- Support the IG Manager in the set up and operational management of our face-to-face fundraising campaigns for regular donor and lottery player recruitment. Including invoice processing, complaint handling, site management and training for third party fundraising teams
- Work with the other IG Officer to optimise and improve our regular giving and lottery stewardship journeys. This will include researching and proofing content, engaging with supporters and looking for opportunities to cross-sell
- Being proactive in writing up process documents and maintaining documents for Individual Giving Team
- Day-to-day point of contact with external agencies including face-to-face agencies, creative agencies, printers and fulfilment houses
- To support the Head of Supporter Engagement with the development of a legacy marketing programme
- Support with the stewardship of our in-memory donors, including donors who set up tribute pages on MuchLoved
- Work with hospital staff and stakeholders to gather content, encourage fundraising and manage our contactless stations
- Work with our Supporter Services Team to monitor and action all feedback, speaking with supporters over the phone and via email, and properly recording supporter interactions on our database
- Work with the Fundraising Operations team to open fundraising post and log cash, card and cheque donations
- Send out stewardship materials to supporters from the office
- Support the C&E Manager with fundraising event and donor stewardship as required
- Work with the Communications Team to develop internal messaging for the Charity and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Work with the Finance Team to process invoices and ensure activities are properly coded

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people who live in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. Currently, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.
Over the last 20 years, CSAN has built up a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities with a combined annual spend on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.
The key responsibilities of the post are:
1. To scan the social policy environment to capture developments in legislation, consultation papers and Bills relevant to the Caritas network for the purpose of comprehensive tracking and briefing.
2. To deliver an effective programme of Catholic advocacy and political campaigns that contributes to the common good, with particular attention to the priorities of the dignity of workers, child poverty, social care and end of life; supporting and connecting well with the team’s other activities, and where possible with the CSAN membership’s priorities,
3. To draft campaign and advocacy materials for the range of media channels used by CSAN and support the CEO in engaging with the press and approaches from campaigning organisations including contributing to CSAN’s social media networks.
4. To provide admin support and contribute to CSAN’s Alliances as required, especially the Advocacy Alliance and the Criminal Justice Alliance with information and education on policy and legislation.
5. To ensure that our advocacy is consistent with the Bishops’ understanding of the Church’s role in society and supports the priorities of the Bishops’ Conference, especially the Department for Social Justice.
6. To act as a conduit of information and communication between the Bishops’ Conference and the CSAN members, under the guidance of the CEO, assisting CBCEW where possible in gathering information and the lived experience of poverty.
7. To develop and contribute to practice materials for the network, especially in the areas of campaigning, advocacy, social policy and formation for mission.
8. To oversee monitoring of the Catholic press and relevant wider networks for relevant articles, developments and campaigns.
9. To support the general work of CSAN as required by the CEO, including leading in the development and organisation of the charity in specific areas subject to skills and experience.
The work of the small national team requires a high level of integrity and teamwork, respect for and capacity to navigate complex civil and church contexts at pace, and a stable commitment to personal formation and training. Our Policy and Public Affairs Officer (maternity leave) will bring a professional track record of relevant research and analysis, production of compelling communications, and diligent administration. A satisfactory basic DBS check and references are required.
