Job description

Become A Trustee at Urban Youth and Shape the Future of Young People and Inspire the Next Generation.

Your City, Your Vibe.

Urban Youth is a brand new dynamic, London-based charity on a mission to ignite positive change in young people's lives. We're about getting young people off their screens and into a community. Through fun, interactive, and engaging activities, we will build social skills, encourage team spirit, and boost confidence. We will provide a safe space where young people can discover new passions and engage in experiences they wouldn't find anywhere else. Urban Youth is more than a programme; it's a supportive community built on positive relationships, where young people are guided by positive and engaging role models who genuinely care. We're equipping the next generation with the life skills they need to be confident, resilient, and ready to face the world head-on.

As a brand new start-up, we need visionary leaders to join our Board of Trustees and help steer our mission to success. We are looking for passionate individuals with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds to provide essential governance, support, and strategic guidance. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring Urban Youth is well-managed, sustainable, and impactful for years to come.

You Don't Need Previous Experience. Just The Passion, Dedication and Committment to help us create an amazing youth work charity in London!!!

What You'll Do:

  • Provide Strategic Leadership: You will help shape our long-term vision, ensuring we remain true to our mission and deliver on our promises to young people.

  • Ensure Good Governance: You will oversee the charity's operations, finances, and legal compliance, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

  • Offer Expert Guidance: You will provide valuable insight and support to our team, using your professional experience to help us navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

  • Be an Ambassador: You will represent Urban Youth, helping to raise our profile and build vital connections within the community.

What We're Looking For:

We welcome applications from all backgrounds, but we are particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience in:

  • Law, Finance, or HR

  • Marketing and Communications

  • Fundraising or Charity Management

  • Youth Work or Education

  • Lived experience of the youth sector

  • Other experiences to help set-up, form and shape a brand new youth work charity

You don't need prior trustee experience - just a strong commitment to our values and the ability to meet for a board meeting every two months.

What You'll Gain:

  • The profound satisfaction of using your skills to create a lasting, positive impact on young people's lives.

  • The opportunity to influence the direction of an exciting new London charity from its early stages.

  • A chance to work with a dedicated and passionate team.

  • The knowledge that you are helping to build a resilient, confident, and empowered generation.

Your leadership will be the foundation of our success. Join us and help create a legacy for London's youth.

Ready to lead the change?

Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter explaining why you'd be a great fit for Urban Youth.
