First Give inspires young people to make a difference to causes they care about. Programme Delivery Officer role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs are responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of First Give in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, providing guidance and troubleshooting for the Lead Teachers.
The role is home-based, in Yorkshire, with regular travel to schools across the county and occasional forays to schools in the North-West. Several times a year travel will be required to London, where our office is based.

Key responsibilities
- Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
- an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;
- delivering a briefing to class teachers;
- troubleshooting via phone and email;
- booking in First Give facilitated sessions
- Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme
- Update and monitor Salesforce to track programme delivery
- Liaise with freelance facilitators to ensure events at schools are effectively staffed
- Deliver Launch Assemblies, Workshops and First Give Finals in partner schools
- Collect data for monitoring (student surveys, teacher surveys, identifying potential stories of impact, writing programme reports)

The Role

Project name: Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana

About the project
The Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana project is a two-year project funded by the European Commission. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of two co-applicants (Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organisation (WODAO) and the Alliance for Better Advocacy and Knowledge (ABAK) Foundation) in the areas of management, communication, fundraising, coordination, advocacy, gender, climate change, networking, and financial accountability.
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen both co-applicant organisations, their partners and their members to effectively participate in development and decision-making processes.
About the consultancy
The purpose of this end of term evaluation (ETE) is to assess performance of the project and to understand what specific learnings can be taken forward in future project design and implementation. It is also intended that the evaluation will contribute evidence and/or insight towards some of Sightsavers’ thematic learning questions. An external ETE, to be conducted by the end of the project, is also a requirement by the donor.
The evaluation will also be designed to collect endline data for three project indicators, as specified in the project MEL plan. It is intended that the findings, learnings and recommendations from the evaluation will be used to inform the design and delivery of similar projects and programmes.
The evaluation will employ a collaborative and participatory approach to ensure that the evaluation takes into account the complex nature of how capacity is strengthened. It will use a mixed methods approach, triangulating secondary project documentation and data with some qualitative primary data collection. This is likely to include key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with various project stakeholders. The appointed consultant will further define the methods and tools and may wish to consider elements of outcome harvesting if deemed appropriate.
Skills and Experience
The evaluation will be contracted to an external independent consultant or consultancy company. It would be beneficial if the consultant or team is at least partly located in Ghana. The evaluation team members should have the following core competencies and experience:

Extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation for international development project/programmes, with strong skills in both qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Thematic expertise in disability inclusion, Climate Action, advocacy, and/or capacity development of women’s organisations is essential. Comprehensive understanding of preferred practices/policy issues at global and national level is desirable.

Prior experience working in Ghana is essential, including data collection experience. A consultant or team with members located in Ghana is preferred.

Must have experience of carrying out evaluations of an appropriate scope and scale.

Ability to travel within Ghana is required.

We are looking for a part-time (22.5 hours per week) social media officer to ensure our community is engaged and interacted with through our multiple social media channels. The role is focused on the creation of engaging content for our social media channels, including Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, as well as monitoring these channels and engaging with our followers. About the role
At the heart of our operations, our exceptional Regional Casework Coordinators serve as the primary point of contact for members of the armed forces community reaching out to our Regional Offices for support.
In this dynamic role, no two days are the same. You may be supporting individuals in distress over the phone, managing email and voicemail communications, collaborating with volunteers on complex casework, building strong relationships with local authorities and charitable organisations, or working closely with internal services to secure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlying needs to determine the best way to support them. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensuring that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service.
Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the East of England region in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, or Essex.
You will occasionally be required to travel around the region or further afield, to attend face to face meetings or training events.

Reporting to the Regional Casework Manager our Casework Coordinators, together with our Volunteer Caseworkers, work remotely within the regional office area.
