Community and challenge events fundraising coordinator jobs

We are seeking a proactive, organised and relationship-focused Community & Volunteer Events Coordinator to lead the coordination and delivery of community projects, family activities and volunteer engagement opportunities across Camden and Islington.

This is a hands-on operational role focused on strengthening community connections, increasing family engagement and supporting inclusive, welcoming activities for families accessing our services.

The postholder will coordinate a varied programme of projects, groups and events while building positive relationships with community partners, venues and local stakeholders. They will play an important role in identifying opportunities for collaboration, reducing barriers to participation and supporting innovative approaches to community engagement.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Location: SIA House, Milton Keynes. We offer hybrid working with the expectation of three days per week in the office.
Salary: £36,090 per annum

About the Role

The core purpose of the challenge events coordinator role is to plan and deliver a portfolio of established challenge events to generate income, engage our supporters and raise awareness of SIA’s wider work. Working closely with the philanthropy and events manager, this role will help to grow, diversify, and sustain fundraising income as part of the wider business development team, feeding into the 2030 strategy.

SIA’s vision is a fulfilled life for everyone affected by spinal cord injury with the aim to double the number of members accessing our network of services – this role connects companies and individuals with our work providing a platform to engage the public with our cause. The plays a key part in developing innovative, cost-effective, fundraising opportunities that will appeal to supporters, ensuring they are financially, actively, and emotionally engaged with SIA.

SIA delivers an array of challenge events including the London Marathon, accessible adventure challenge, overseas bike ride and superhero triathlon alongside support for individuals who choose to support SIA through their own sponsored challenge. We continually review and update our portfolio of events to ensure we offer a range of appealing, inclusive and innovative events. The challenge events coordinator will play a vital part in developing and shaping our future events with the guidance of the philanthropy and events manager.

As challenge events coordinator, you will work with individual and corporate supporters as an ambassador for the cause securing support for the events you deliver. Relationship management is a key part of the role specifically,

• Providing excellent stewardship to supporters taking part in their own sponsored fundraising activities in support of SIA.
• Promoting SIA’s work and challenge event opportunities amongst professional networks and organisations. This will include delivering pitches and presentations as well as attending events where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with the services team and fundraising colleagues to build relationships with supporters and promote fundraising activities across the charity.
• Highlighting new opportunities to engage and raise income from corporate partners, business members and event fundraisers.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have proven experience in fundraising, business development, or partnership management, with a track record of generating income and building strong external relationships. Ideally, you will have experience developing fundraising plans, pipelines, or income streams from an early stage, and will be comfortable working in an environment where processes, opportunities, and supporter journeys are still evolving. 

You will be confident identifying and pursuing new opportunities, developing compelling proposals and cases for support, and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including corporate partners, community fundraisers, volunteers, and individual supporters. 

We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and creative, with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues across fundraising, marketing, and operational teams.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

We are looking for a confident, ambitious, and entrepreneurial Fundraising Manager to help grow sustainable income for Adoption UK by building and developing strong relationships with corporate partners, supporters, volunteers, and local communities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supported by the Director of Fundraising, take ownership of developing, delivering and monitoring fundraising events and activities in line with our fundraising strategy. 

• Lead on key income streams to maximise net income and develop sustainable income streams for short, medium and long-term growth. 

• Monitor and evaluate progress against plans using management information and budgets to produce reports and forecasts as required 

• Deliver effective supporter journeys to improve supporter experience, retention, and long-term engagement. 

• Work alongside the Director of Fundraising to develop and implement processes and policies. 

• Grow and diversify income across corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, individual giving and digital activity. 

• Develop compelling proposals and pitches for corporate partners, clearly articulating social value, impact and return on investment. 

• Build and manage a strong corporate prospect pipeline using research, data and structured follow-up to convert opportunities. Identify opportunities to sponsor projects and activities. 

• Collaborate with marketing colleagues to develop assets and digital campaigns to support fundraising appeals and events. 

• Work with all Adoption UK teams to support local fundraising activities in each of the four nations including membership and community teams. 

• To ensure good working practices in line with Equality and Diversity policies and a pro-active approach is taken to equality, diversity and inclusion issues.

You'll also build and maintain strong relationships with schools, alternative provisions and community partners to keep programmes running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role. Alongside keeping regional delivery on track, you'll still spend time working directly with young people: being a positive presence, modelling good practice and helping create the kind of safe, engaging environments where young people can thrive.

You'll also take the lead on the activities that go beyond our weekly sessions such as organising holiday programmes, Career Taster Days, regional trips and events that give young people experiences they wouldn't otherwise have. These are some of the most rewarding parts of the role and a real chance to see young people shine in a different context.

Building relationships in the community is a big part of this too. You'll get to know the local area, embed yourself in the networks around it and find partners, venues and opportunities that help deepen out work and enhance our engagement with young people.

We are looking for a Mission Enabler to offer direction and energy to the ministry of Scripture Union with a focus on initiating and maintaining missional opportunities in South Wales. You will be an enthusiastic candidate who will be able to recruit, train, coach and support many Volunteers and Faith Guides working together with them. You will also lead by example, through the modelling of excellent mission delivery to children and young people consistent with Scripture Union’s mission in supporting the pioneering of new mission.

We are seeking a strong and motivated leader, who is passionate about seeing lives transformed, to become our Head of Services (Programmes). In this strategic senior role, you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to provide stable leadership to staff and residents in the delivery of the day-to-day leadership of the organisation and residential addiction recovery / resettlement programmes. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will help lead and motivate the organisation through transformational change to more effectively and sustainably deliver our mission – to help those affected by addiction to heal, transform, and thrive.

Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are essential. As a Christian charity, we bring our faith to the work we do and the men we work with, so you will be someone with a deep-rooted Christian faith, able to lead and inspire others in their own faith journeys, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all key decisions. Schedule 9, Part 1:3(a) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Your role, in this committed team of 40+ staff, requires balancing management responsibilities alongside a more hands-on approach, including significant contact with our residents.
