The role will involve working closely with health and social care organisations, delivering outreach in HIV clinics, organising workshops and training sessions for frontline professionals and NHS staff, and providing updates to colleagues on welfare and benefits legislation. You will also support and develop volunteers, contribute to drop-in sessions and ensure that client records, monitoring information and reports are maintained accurately and effectively.
You will be a qualified welfare rights adviser with at least two years’ experience providing welfare and benefits advice to vulnerable groups, alongside a strong understanding of the UK welfare and benefits system. You will bring excellent communication, numerical and IT skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working independently. Just as importantly, you will be empathetic, patient, tactful and emotionally resilient, with a genuine commitment to equality and the rights of people living with HIV. Experience of casework systems, volunteer support, group facilitation or specialist areas such as housing, debt management or income maximisation would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Salesforce or languages in addition to English.

About the role
Your role will be to ensure that Shelter’s service delivery model is truly inclusive and accessible. Purpose of the Job
