Advance is an award-winning and innovative women-only organisation, established in 1998, providing emotional and practical support to women and girls survivors of domestic abuse and supporting women with short-term sentences to reduce offending. The project:
We are in the process of expanding our service beyond our London footprint to Bedfordshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Kent, along with Thames Valley, providing one-to-one advocacy and specialist work including workshops and group activities delivered by Advance in partnership with voluntary organisations.
This role plays a critical part in coordinating the group offering for women accessing our services, as well as providing administration support across the region.
In short you will:
• Be the first point of contact for clients coming to the Women’s Centre; offering a warm welcome and trauma informed approach.
• Hold responsibility for the Minerva telephone number and email account in your region.
• Assist in researching additional resources and events for service users; both within the Centre and across the region.
• Contribute to creating and lead on updating the local Services Directory with details of local organisations, key contacts and details of services on offer, including eligibility criteria.
• Assist the Service Manager in managing the smooth running of the Women’s Centre in your region, including managing the group workshops timetable, arranging meetings and booking external venues for client groups or training events.
• Manage administration for the Kent Minerva team
• Assist the Service Manager with the quality assurance and collation of data and information as required, including for funder reports.

Head of Finance and Operations
Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.
Accountable to: Chief Executive Officer
Start date: 01/08/2024 or as soon as possible thereafter
Hours of work: Full-time, permanent.
Salary range: £55,000 - £60,000 FTE, depending on experience.
Purpose
This is an exciting and vital role performing a range of finance and governance tasks, working within the Senior Leadership Team of a leading mental health charity focused on supporting children and young people.
The Head of Finance and Operations (HFO) will be responsible for the successful management of the charity finances and operations, as well as making a leading contribution to the charity’s strategic direction. The role is responsible to the CEO, and activity oversight spans finance, HR, IT, and office management. The HFO is also responsible to the Trustees for the financial state of the charity and as Company Secretary. As a result, the HFO must working closely with the treasurer, members of the finance and investment committee, as well as the senior leadership team and our existing finance and operation colleagues.
We are looking for an highly motivated, efficient, diligent and confident finance professional with experience of managing a team. The role is varied and would suit a qualified accountant with experience of working collaboratively and compassionately with a range of colleagues to achieve organisational objectives. There will be opportunities to increase knowledge and the successful candidate could be supported to undertake further study.
Key responsibilities and duties
Strategy, modelling and leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial strategy supporting the organisation’s wider strategic plan.
- Provide guidance and leadership on short and long-term financial decisions.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of long-range financial plans with the CEO, Board of Trustees and the Finance and Investment committee, to support organisational sustainability and growth.
- Provide leadership (including line management of at least one member of staff) to our small but invaluable finance and operations team comprising our finance and operations manager, finance assistant, and our office and IT coordinator.
Financial and Operational Management
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s mission, vision and priorities.
- Streamline and optimise operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability while availing technological advancement. This includes systems, IT, CRM, Facilities and supplier management.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Optimise and manage the Trust’s working capital and cash flow position.
- Maintain appropriate financial records and oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual reports and financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards, Charity Commission and company law requirements.
- Ensure necessary insurances and contracts are in place and provide required liability and other coverages.
- Develop and manage strong and effective relationships with external auditors, the bank, the treasurer, and other key partners.
- Hold responsibility for all tax matters and compliance with HMRC requirements.
Resources, Risk Management and Compliance
- Overall leadership and accountability for IT, Digital and Business Systems infrastructure, including appropriate data protection requirements.
- Oversight of property matters for the team office, including responsibility for lease, insurance and legal matters.
- Overall leadership for the development and implementation of the risk matrix framework.

The YWF Youth Voice Coordinator Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate and lead YWF’s revamped youth engagement initiatives. Collaborating closely with our Youth Voice Consultant and the entire team, you will bring passion, creativity, professionalism and ambition to implement our youth voice plans. These plans are informed by a recent review and are supported by a theory of change. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties
This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising and Events Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.
The Fundraising Officer will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships with groups, business and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief, and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we support.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Overview
- Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for The Cinnamon Trust.
- Maximise the contributions and connections with local business and individuals.
- Coordinate all appeals including The Big Walk across all income and media streams.
- Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities such as Payroll Giving, Legacies (with help from The Legacy Officer), in Memory Giving and Online Giving.
Supporter Engagement and Stewardship
- Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to The Trust’s supporters.
- To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all fundraising volunteers and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes, in conjunction with other teams.
- Develop and implement Fundraising groups across the UK
Database Management
- To ensure efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
- Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.
- Train other staff members to support general fundraising.
- Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.
- Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.
Individual Giving
- Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
- Lead the growth of CT100 monthly giving.
- Work with the Press and PR Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.
Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns
- Work alongside teams and PR and Communications Manager to promote The Cinnamon Trust.
- Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the PR and Communications Manager.
- Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside PR and Communications Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses and individuals
Staff and Volunteers
- Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
- Work closely with Head of Operations and PR and Communications Manager to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.
Wider organisational responsibilities
- Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Operations.
- Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of The Cinnamon Trust

We’re looking for a People Systems and Insight Analyst with experience in systems, data and reporting, and has strong analytical skills to join our passionate team.
As part of the People and Culture Directorate, you will play a critical role in managing and optimising our people systems. You’ll be enhancing the functionality of our systems and processes, so that we work efficiently and effectively, and our workforce has a seamless ‘user experience’.

About the role
This role will be part of the Programmes and Learning team which is responsible for designing, managing and delivering locally led learning solutions and build a network of regional centres that can together create lasting change in the humanitarian system.
The purpose of this role is to work alongside digital and learning specialists to enable the development and delivery of an integrated and impactful digital learning solutions and support the maintenance of a portfolio of locally-led digital learning programmes.
The post holder will need to stay abreast of digital tools that meet the demand and needs of individuals, organisations and the wider humanitarian sector.

About you

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research and Evaluation Specialist to join our Research and Performance department at The Active Wellbeing Society. Our head office is based in Tyseley (Birmingham) and we are offering this as a hybrid role, including working from the head office, across Birmingham and home working, with national travel when required. Training and Projects Officer
Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Purpose
This is an interesting and important position at the Trust, with the postholder taking responsibility for a range of administrative and project management tasks supporting our Education programme, working to both the Education Project Manager and the Trust’s Head of Programmes.
Our Education Programme is our body of charitable activity delivering training and resources appropriate for schools, colleges and universities, often working with education institutions to create a whole school/college approach to promote good mental health in students and staff alike.
The postholder will be the first point of contact for our training team, enabling our mental health training delivery to take place. There will be opportunities to play a key role in monitoring and evaluation, and obtain a good understanding of the sector. This is a key role in ensuring the Trust and its activities are serviced with robust, reliable and up-to-date evidence and information.
You’ll need to be confident in dealing with the charity’s delivery partners and beneficiaries, both over the telephone and face to face. You’ll enjoy working with and supporting our trainer and office teams, and be super organised and proactive. You’ll manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks as necessary, and will be comfortable communicating with a wide range of people at all levels. We have a small office team, and the successful applicant will need to be a flexible team player.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Work closely with and provide administrative support to the Education Programme.
- Support trainers with the day-to-day running of online and face-to-face courses and maintain effective communication links with the freelance trainers. The postholder is the primary office contact for the training team.
- Liaise with freelance trainers to provide logistical and technical support in the day-to-day delivery of training, Charlie Waller Trust (CWT) conferences and open access webinars.
- Project manage Webinars and E-Learning projects.
- Respond to general enquiries by phone and email on behalf of the Charitable Activities team and deal with these as appropriate.
- Participate in the planning, development, creation, and implementation of training programmes to ensure the smooth running of all courses.

SIG is a leading UK charity providing bespoke person-centred health and social care services. Reporting into the Senior Finance Officer, this role is jointly responsible for the delivery of a consistent and high-quality purchase ledger function across the Group. The purchase ledger team is integral to ensuring that the Group commitments are accurate and complete each month; and payments are made on a consistent basis in keeping with suppliers’ credit terms and internal policy on expenses.
The key responsibilities of this Purchase Ledger Officer include:
- Record staff expenses and property invoices (e.g., rent, utilities, repairs) promptly across all companies.
- Upload invoices promptly after processing for timely authorisation.
- Ensure invoices comply with delegated authority limits and are correctly coded to budgeted cost centres.
- Verify payment-due invoices against the aged creditors report.
- Track and record direct debit invoices, investigate debit balances, and resolve before month-end.
- Review supplier statements to capture missing invoices and prepare reconciliations for key maintenance and rent accounts.
- Respond to supplier and staff queries per SLA KPIs and forward new supplier forms and bank detail changes as needed.
- Prompt authorisers weekly for timely invoice approval and maintain evidence of key supplier reconciliations.
