Volunteering and Foster Caring Manager is a new role at Mayhew, reflective of the importance of volunteering and foster caring in our ability to deliver our onward strategy and direction. This is a highly visible and important role for Mayhew. The postholder will be working across all teams with staff and volunteers, supporters, partners and members of the public.

This role requires an effective leader and manager, with practical subject matter expertise in volunteering good practice, strong organisational skills, and a drive, rooted in passion for both animal welfare and volunteering, to enable Mayhew to reach many more dogs and cats and pet owners who need us by cultivating a thriving, engaged and diverse volunteer base.

Staff and volunteers at Mayhew, particularly in animal facing and public facing roles have duties that can be physically and emotionally demanding, sometimes interfacing with dogs and cats and pet owners who are in distress and facing heart-breaking situations. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease which is uncommon, complex and poorly understood. It affects the immune system and can cause lasting damage to the kidneys, skin, heart, lungs and/or brain. This organisation is the only national charity supporting people living with lupus and those that care for them. They hold an ambition for a world where people with lupus can live full and active lives and work hard to empower people by providing information about lupus and offering support so their voices are heard and their condition diagnosed and managed effectively.

This is an exciting new role for the organisation which will focus on engaging with communities and recruiting and training volunteers to deliver peer support services for those living with lupus. As Community Services Coordinator you will work as part of a small, tight-knit team, and will facilitate co-production sessions with stakeholders across the lupus community, enabling beneficiaries to design and shape community-based services. The role will involve providing direct support to service users, producing regular reports, and supporting and managing volunteers to provide service resourcing. The organisation is particularly interested in developing their support offering across Northern Ireland and require someone who understands the health landscape and is confident to engage with a range of stakeholders to develop their offering.

This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact across the lupus community. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Trusts, in a lovely team of three. You will play a lead role and help the team raise their income target of c£1.7m income from a range of Trusts and Foundations.

This role will develop and maintain relationships with trusts, foundations and statutory funders through updates and other bespoke communications in order to maximise income.

About the role
The Chief Programmes and Communities Officer will lead the charity’s Programmes and Communities Division. This division oversees our work with pupils, university students and parents, so that we can support young people from less-advantaged backgrounds to access and thrive at competitive universities. It is also home to our Research and Impact team, who ensure that our programmes are making an impact on the lives of young people and that our expertise is utilised externally to enhance best practice in the sector.

The Chief Programmes and Communities Officer will be responsible for ensuring high quality delivery across our programmes, ensuring we maximise our impact on the young people and communities we support. They will also bring our programmes and communities work closer together to strengthen the impact we have in the places of greatest need. Overview

Prostate Cancer Research (PCR) is seeking a highly organised and proactive Patient Engagement & Programme Officer to support the delivery of several key patient-focused initiatives, including the infopool and Prostate Progress. 

This role will sit within the Patient Projects team, providing operational, administrative, and patient engagement support across a range of programmes designed to support and empower men affected by prostate cancer. 

The postholder will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of patient communications, programme logistics, digital resource management, and recruitment support for the national Prostate Progress research platform. 

The role will be split approximately 50% supporting Prostate Progress recruitment and patient engagement activities, and 50% supporting wider programmes. 

Key Responsibilities 

Prostate Progress – Patient Recruitment & Support 

Provide support to patients and participants, particularly during the upcoming national recruitment campaigns delivered with NHS DigiTrials. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Managing and triaging incoming emails and phone enquiries from patients responding to recruitment invitations or having issues using the platform 
• Responding to patient queries using approved FAQ materials and support documentation 
• Escalating complex queries or complaints to appropriate internal teams 
• Liaising with our technical support team to resolve participant platform issues and triaging issues accordingly

About Beyond the Streets

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centered support, provide training for the third sector and statutory professionals, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience. Our training and partnership work seeks to equip professionals to understand the sex industry, particularly survival sex, and to support them to engage with women selling sex in a trauma-informed way.
