About the opportunity

As a Risk & Resilience Officer, you'll work in partnership with colleagues across all our directorates to strengthen how we identify, assess, and respond to risk. This is a role where your facilitation skills and risk knowledge directly contribute to building a more mature, risk-informed organisation that can navigate uncertainty while staying focused on its mission.

You'll be part of our Finance & Assurance directorate, working alongside the Risk and Resilience Manager to champion a positive risk culture and deliver high-quality risk and resilience information that supports decision-making at every level. From coordinating enterprise risk management and maintaining our risk framework to supporting business continuity arrangements and ensuring our resilience plans stay current, you'll play a central role in helping the Society operate with confidence.

This is an opportunity to work across the organisation, liaising with diverse teams to embed effective risk and resilience practices into how we work. You'll share best practice, drive consistency, and help ensure that our approach to risk is aligned with our strategic objectives and truly adds value.

About you:

You're either part-qualified in Risk Management or Business Continuity (through IRM, BCI, or similar), or you have proven experience maintaining successful risk management arrangements within an organisation. You understand risk frameworks and methodologies, you've provided risk and resilience advice to stakeholders, and you know how insurance processes work.

You'll have:

- Part-qualification in Risk Management or Business Continuity (IRM, BCI, etc.) or proven experience maintaining risk management arrangements.
- Experience providing risk management and resilience advice, support, and facilitation.
- Knowledge of risk management and business continuity frameworks, processes, and methodologies.
- Understanding of insurance processes, limits, and claims.
- Strong communication skills that balance being persuasive with building collaborative relationships.
- Ability to connect with and influence colleagues at all levels.
- Initiative and comfort working both independently and as part of a team.
- Critical thinking approach that identifies opportunities for improvement.

- Supporting the coordination of enterprise risk management across the organisation.
- Championing the development of a positive risk culture and effective risk management processes.
- Maintaining and reviewing key elements of our risk management framework, including policy, guidance, and risk appetite statements.
- Contributing to the facilitation and coordination of business continuity arrangements.
- Maintaining and reviewing our organisational resilience framework, including policies, plans, and incident management procedures.
- Working with colleagues to ensure risk and resilience practices are embedded effectively across key processes.
- Producing and coordinating high-quality risk and resilience information for directorates and the wider organisation.
- Sharing best practice across teams to drive consistency and effective escalation.
- Supporting insurance-related tasks as needed.
- Keeping current with sector trends and emerging practices in risk, business continuity, and insurance.

The team is strategically and collaboratively managed by Learning and Development Managers (LDMs), each having responsibility for a number of Learning and Development Officers (LDO) working within a geographical area. Responsibilities of the Learning Development Manager include:

• strategic shared leadership of the LN

About the role

The role of Senior Manager, Audience & Communications offers a hugely exciting opportunity for a creative, dynamic and strategic communications and marketing professional to join the charity at a pivotal moment in its evolution.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business and Service Development Team at Dementia UK as a Regional Account Manager, where you’ll play a vital role in our strategy plans in managing and expanding Admiral Nursing Services across health and social care settings throughout the UK.

Whilst this role is an 18-month fixed term contract to cover an internal secondment, there are plans for future growth in the team in response to our ambitious five-year organisational strategy, where we are aiming to significantly increase the number of Admiral Nurses in our hosted services.

As a Regional Account Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of both new and established Admiral Nurse services. You will help implement, monitor, and ensure they meet quality standards and align with our Common Business Process. In addition, you will represent Dementia UK with key commissioners and stakeholders, influencing local dementia strategies and ensuring that Admiral Nursing remains central to service design, supporting the overall delivery of Dementia UK’s strategy.

We are looking for you to bring substantial experience in partnership development, account management, and project management. Having previous experience in the health and social care sector is essential, along with an understanding of government policies related to older people’s mental health, carers, and dementia.

This is a remote role, with occasional travel across the South West region, including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, to attend meetings and engage with key stakeholders. Ideally, you will be based within this area, willing and able to travel.

Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering offers an activity centre to residents of Redbridge aged 55 or above, to use for exercise and craft among other classes, and to enjoy light refreshments and a daily, 2 course, freshly prepared lunch.

A part time cook is required, to provide lunches (main course and dessert) and work alongside a small team to include; two other part time cooks and approximately 12 volunteers.  The centre is overseen by an onsite manager who will look after the day to day running of the centre, and who line manages the cooks and volunteers.

The ability to work independently and with the help of a kitchen assistant volunteer is essential in order to prepare between 10 and 30 meals per day. BIAS’s welfare and housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex issues, including disability benefits, pensions, Universal Credit, Irish passports, homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, welfare or housing to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the establishment, expansion and day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service in Haringey borough, providing specialist advice on welfare and housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.

You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients and partners, an aptitude for working independently, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met. You will work with the Advice Services Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

• Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.
• Ensuring that all casework records are kept up to date and completed clearly and effectively.
• Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of other available services, and signposting or referring clients as needed.
• Participating in regular team file reviews and supervision sessions, and contributing to maintaining BIAS’s high-quality service in line with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements. 
• Engaging positively and constructively with other service providers, including local authorities and housing providers, to maintain partnerships.
• Staying up to date with developments in welfare benefits and housing legislation and identifying opportunities to effect positive policy change, together with the Advice Services Manager.

These are the basic duties required of the Welfare and Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice venues in  Haringey[1], with some presence required at our main office in Willesden and some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).

[1] BIAS is currently running its Haringey advice services from the Hornsey Vale Community Centre, with plans to expand into additional venues in the borough later in 2025.

The Charity

James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering free clinical services. We currently have centres in Newcastle, Liverpool and London; and in early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

Our trained, professional therapists deliver a proven clinical service in a warm and welcoming environment, ensuring that men are seen quickly at the point of crisis. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

The Role

We are recruiting for a team of clinicians to deliver our clinical proven intervention at our new James’ Place centre in Birmingham, due to open in early 2026. As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work alongside the Head of Centre to manage and support the clinical team in delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. You will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention and team management and leadership. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Successful applicants will be joining a new team at a pivotal time and will have the opportunity to shape the local culture at James’ Place Birmingham. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in Birmingham and the wider James’ Place team.

Person Specification

The role requires someone with a relevant qualification who can confidently lead a team and support men experiencing a suicidal crisis. You will need to be able to effectively conduct risk assessments and deliver our clinically proven therapeutic intervention to ensure client safety. Strong therapeutic communication, the ability to work autonomously and teamwork skills are also essential to this role, as well as the ability to build trust and hope.
