We are seeking a creative and conscientious communications leader with exceptional attention to detail and demonstrable expertise in developing and delivering high-impact strategic communications outputs in the international development or third sector. We are a relatively small team and are therefore looking for someone who is both highly strategic and able to see the ‘big picture’, while also being happy getting stuck in at an operational level to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of outputs. Experience of working with or within networks or membership organisations would be a particular asset in this role. It is also important that you are comfortable working across all areas – from digital, to design, to publishing, to events – as well as being an exceptional project manager, confident liaising with a range of partners and stakeholders at different levels, and an experienced line manager.

The Global Distributors Collective (GDC) is in an excellent position, with a strong track record of delivery and impact, a solid funding pipeline, and a clear 2026-30 strategy. High-impact communication crosscuts the entire GDC programme and is essential to ensuring that beneficial products can be made affordable and available to all. As Communications Manager (maternity cover), you will therefore need to both hit the ground running to deliver our ambitious schedule of upcoming communications activities – from in-person and online events, to high-profile research, publications, and digital outputs – as well as to work proactively with the Head of GDC, Bopinc team, GDC strategic advisors, and fellow communications colleagues to shape and embed communication activities across a range of new projects that are kicking off in 2026-27.

About Practical Action and the GDC

Practical Action is an international development organisation putting ingenious ideas to work so people in poverty can change their world. For the past eight years, Practical Action has been hosting and building the Global Distributors Collective (GDC): a collective of 300 last mile distribution companies that cumulatively reach millions of the poorest consumers in the world with beneficial products like solar lanterns, water filters and improved cookstoves. GDC activities are delivered in collaboration with strategic and implementing partner Bopinc.

The GDC provides a collective voice for distributors to ensure their priorities are heard; drives research and innovation across the sector; facilitates the exchange of information, insight, and expertise; and provides critical services that leverage economies of scale.

Moving into our 2026-30 strategy phase, we are proactively shifting from creating and setting up advisory services and tools that support last mile distributors to embedding and scaling these initiatives. Specifically, we will focus on four key strategic pillars:

· Unlocking finance: Prepare more last mile distributors (LMDs) for investment and help to unlock country-level financing mechanisms and create LMD-focussed debt facilities. 

· Strengthening business performance: Deliver training, shared services, and data tools that reduce business costs and improve efficiency, in scalable formats.

· Scaling innovation: Identify, test, and replicate high-value business innovations and remove eco-system barriers.

· Shaping systems and local leadership: Build local chapters and influence global and national agendas so LMDs are visible, valued and represented. 

About you

We are looking for a go-getting, ambitious and proactive communications specialist who is ready to lead the GDC communications team to deliver a range of high-impact, top-quality, communications activities over the next 12 months. To succeed in this role, you must be a communications all-rounder, an experienced line manager, and an excellent written and verbal communicator with exceptional attention to detail, robust project management and interpersonal skills. About the Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager role

In this varied and exciting position, you will manage high profile WI campaigns and play a key role in achieving change on key issues affecting women and their community.

The Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager provides essential management of the Public Affairs team and its activities- including campaigning, lobbying, research and policy work- whilst working closely with the Director of Campaigns and Membership to maintain a strategic overview of the department’s work.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager to play a key role in delivering our fundraising ambitions across England and Wales. This is a varied and hands-on role, combining strategic relationship-building with high-quality event delivery to generate income and deepen supporter engagement.

The Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager will take ownership of a portfolio of major fundraising events, from planning and budgeting through to delivery and follow-up. misunderstood and misdiagnosed. PANS PANDAS UK are the only charity in the UK

OVERALL PURPOSE 

The Education Training Development Manager will lead the operational development, and delivery of the national education training programme, ensuring it aligns with organisational priorities and emerging national guidance. The role is responsible for the coordination, growth and quality assurance of PANS PANDAS UK’s national CPD training offer for teachers and educational psychologists (EPs), supporting the development and delivery of high‑quality training modules and strengthening partnerships.

About the Role 

This is a key role at the heart of the Foundation’s ambition to become even more impact-led and evidence-driven. As Research and Evaluation Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring our programmes, partnerships and investments are grounded in robust evidence and a clear understanding of what works, why it works, and how we can increase our impact. 

You will lead the design and delivery of research, evaluation and learning activity across the Foundation, working closely with teams to ensure programmes are built around clear outcomes and that insight is used to inform decisions, improve delivery and strengthen impact. 

This is both a technical and collaborative role. You will manage and commission evaluation activity, while also working alongside colleagues across the organisation to embed a stronger culture of learning, evidence and continuous improvement. 

About You 

We are looking for a skilled research and evaluation professional with experience of designing, commissioning and delivering high-quality evaluation activity. You will be confident working with data, evidence and insight to inform decision-making and improve programmes or services. 

You will bring strong analytical skills, alongside the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical recommendations. You will be comfortable managing external partners and contracts, and confident supporting others to embed evidence and learning into their work. 

Above all, you will be collaborative, curious and committed to using evidence to improve outcomes for communities. A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging is essential.

About the Role

Plunkett UK is seeking a Placemaking Account Manager to support the delivery of an exciting and growing area of our work – helping shape vibrant, inclusive community infrastructure within new housing developments.

Working closely with developers, planners, local authorities and communities, you’ll help coordinate placemaking projects that put community ownership, early engagement and long‑term impact at their heart. You’ll manage relationships with key partners, support inclusive community engagement, undertake early-stage research, and ensure projects are well‑coordinated and delivered professionally.

This is an ideal role for someone who is organised, collaborative and proactive, with a passion for community-led development and making places work better for the people who live there.

What you’ll do

A central role supporting the delivery of a programme of mental health research, coordinating projects, managing operations, and ensuring studies are delivered to a high standard from set-up through to completion.

• Coordinate and manage multiple research projects, ensuring timelines, risks, and deliverables are effectively tracked and met
• Oversee research operations, including data management, documentation, and project governance
• Lead on funder reporting and support grant applications and wider research opportunities
• Liaise with key stakeholders, including funders, NHS services, local authorities, and research participants
• Support and supervise junior team members while contributing to high-quality research outputs

What you’ll bring

For the Reseach Lab Manager role, you will be an organised and proactive research professional, with strong experience managing complex projects and data, who can confidently coordinate studies, work with a range of stakeholders, and drive high-quality research delivery in a mental health setting.

• Proven experience managing and coordinating large-scale quantitative or mixed-methods research projects
• Strong data management and administrative skills, with attention to quality, accuracy, and compliance
• Experience contributing to research outputs, including funder reports, publications, or dissemination activities
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple deadlines independently, using initiative to solve problems
• Effective communication skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders, including supporting or supervising junior team members

Key details

Hours: Part-time: 14 hours per week (two days). Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00. Specific days to be negotiated. Flexible working is possible.

Salary: £46,062 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Attendance in-person for meetings, as and when required.

In this role, you’ll lead MEL for projects funded by our partner, the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), helping us scale our impact while keeping evaluation quality high. As part of our Impact team, you’ll manage the full end-to-end MEL cycle for education projects funded by QFFD and delivered by our partners across Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.

What you’ll do

• Lead our robust end-to-end monitoring and evaluation systems across our funded projects
• Turn quantitative and qualitative data into clear, timely and high-quality reports to our funding partner
• Champion learning and continuous improvement, supporting projects to embed  learning and reflection into their work

• Strong MEL expertise, ideally in an international development context
• Experience of working closely with, and reporting to, institutional funders
