Job description

The Diocese of Leicester is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to help oversee work to deliver the diocese’s strategic plan during a time of significant change.

The diocese covers the city of Leicester and county of Leicestershire and has nearly 400 churches and 100 church schools. It has an ambitious strategy to plant more churches and grow in ‘everyday faith’. It is also undertaking a major change programme until the title ‘Shaped by God Together’.

The Diocesan Programme Manager will join the Bishop of Leicester’s Leadership Team and help co-ordinate work to deliver the diocese’s strategic plan, ensuring that all projects and support functions are supporting the delivery of the diocese’s vision. In particular, they will work with the Mission & Ministry Team to facilitate a diocesan-wide conversation ‘Shaped by God Together’ leading to the reshaping of the diocese in the next three years.

Applicants will need to display an understanding of the Church of England, excellent relational skills together with experience of strategic planning and delivery of organisational change within a complex institution.

This post has attached to it an occupational requirement under the 2010 Equality Act, Part 1, Schedule 9, that the person should be a practising Christian.
