Age UK Croydon have an established befriending service providing one-to-one befriending for older people in their home. We are now launching a new and exciting Gift of Friendship (GoF) Programme to run alongside this existing face to face and telephone befriending service.
The GoF programme will offer a new additional person-centred companionship service where volunteers and older people are matched to reduce loneliness and isolation together. The service is person centred and dependent on the goals of the individual which could include, going for a walk, going shopping, attending activities or helping an older person to build or regain confidence in going out and about and developing more social connections.
We are looking for excellent people skills, a strong initiative, and effective communications, including an ability to build relationships with clients and volunteers, and undertake matching in an astute and sensitive manner. The Learning and Skills Development Co-Ordinator will lead on developing a program of training, learning, volunteering and work experience for the residents of Homeless Oxfordshire that increase self esteem, engagement and motivation. You will work collaboratively and creatively across the organisation, as well as with partners, stake-holders, and the wider community. Improving community relations and help us secure support from local training providers and employers where resident participation in the wider community will help break down stigmas surrounding homelessness and addiction.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Devise and deliver a structured programme of training and education (both formal and informal) to improve our residents' skills and confidence which prepares them for the next stage of their lives.
- As part of the LEAP team work closely with the Activities Co-Ordinator to deliver a comprehensive programme of engagement, developing skills to move away from homelessness.
- Work with partners and residents to design training that is tailored to the needs of our residents.
- Develop and maintain external relationships with local training providers, organisations and employers to find various opportunities and maintain those relationships.

LEAP empowers people with lived experience of homelessness and/or addiction, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to move towards independent living and employment. Over three years, the project aims to support 750 individuals. Through a wide range of engaging and meaningful activities, residents will experience positive outcomes such as increased confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of inclusion. They will build supportive networks, learn key life skills and access training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. Many will gain qualifications and secure long-term accommodation. The project strengthens peer support and enables residents to shape services through formalised Residents’ Forums, ensuring their voices influence senior decision-making. For Homeless Oxfordshire, LEAP enhances our capacity to deliver peer-led support, builds staff knowledge, and informs service improvement. Wider community benefits include reduced stigma around homelessness, stronger partnerships with employers and organisations, and improved understanding of the issues faced by our residents—ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society.

Energy Action Redhill and Reigate (EARR) is dedicated to improving home energy efficiency across East Surrey. We work to improve the sustainability of homes, as well as making them healthier to live in and more economical to run.
We are seeking an organised and self-motivated Project Coordinator to join our Home Energy Advice Team. You will play a key role in co-ordinating a programme of home energy surveys, distribution of energy efficiency materials and helping to deliver a series of events. The post is funded through an Energy Redress grant and is part of the Surrey-wide HEAT programme, working in partnership with other voluntary organisations across Surrey.
As Project Coordinator you will play a key role in
- scheduling home energy surveys and follow up support

Location: The role is home based; however, travel across Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge will be required to support events and home surveys.

About the opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Newcastle.
- The Newcastle Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. They attend the weekly tutoring sessions at each school, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.

Immediate Support Coordinator (Somerset and Devon)
Reports to: Bereavement Services Manager for England

Context of Role
Our client supports anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. They provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.
As they continue to expand their services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of their relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring their professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion their service to those they support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.
Main Duties include:
- To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties.
- Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction.
- Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls.
- To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual.
- To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties.

We are looking to recruit a new Fundraising Coordinator who believes in our vision that there should be “No Street Called Home” for children living on the streets in Uganda and who wants to help us to grow this impact and further change children’s lives.

Working Hours: Part-time, 2.5 days per week (working days are flexible)

This is a 2.5 day a week role which would be perfect for someone looking for a flexible job that makes a big social justice impact. You will be joining a wonderful team in the UK and Uganda. We currently have two paid staff (based in London and Bournemouth) and a variety of volunteers in the UK, plus a team of 26 staff in Uganda. You will be the first point of contact for new individual supporters and play a key role in our stewardship and engagement plans. Key responsibilities:
Supporter care and communication (30%)
·Act as the first point of contact for fundraising enquiries, including in person visits, ensuring a positive, personalised and friendly approach.
·Proactively and reactively communicate with new and existing supporters to thank and steward, in line with our established stewardship plans and practices. This will be via phone, email, letter, social media and in person.
·In collaboration with the Fundraising Manager produce materials and resources to support our stewardship of donors and supporters. This will include preparation of newsletters, social media content, marketing/fundraising materials and helping to plan and deliver supporter and participation events.
·Assist with systematic gathering and presentation of visitor feedback from a range of stakeholders including participants, group leaders, parents and teachers. Financial administration (25%)
·Working with the Finance Manager and Fundraising Manager, accurately process, record and reconcile donations received from a variety of sources.
·Log donations using a combination of manual data entry, automated imports, and third-party integrations with our fundraising database.
·Confidently run internal reports to generate statistics and impact measurements for use in our accounting and grant reports.
·Manage the charity’s Gift Aid submissions in line with HMRC guidance.
Database support (20%)
·Record supporters, donations, activities and communications accurately on the fundraising database.
·Ensure the database is fully up-to-date and complies with data protection regulations including GDPR.
·Export fundraising data and generate reports for the fundraising team.
·Maximise proficiency with the database through training, development, and opportunities to network and share best practice with other charities.
