Introduction

Afield is a brand new charity responding to environmental injustice. We do this by working with communities to rewild disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods; and by supporting artists to undertake ecological research. This exciting and demanding role will be right at the heart of making everything happen!

Objectives

You will work alongside Afield’s two co-founders to define and run the urban wilding and arts grants programmes, including managing the cohort of grantees. We are looking for dynamism, energy and experience of grant management to help us launch the first round of grants and a support programme.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the two co-founders you will set up the arts research and wilding programmes. This will include launching and running opencall and selection processes, and the cohort support programmes. Once established you will lead subsequent programmes, and plan for future cohorts. You will be:

• Feeding into the design of the arts & wilding programmes

• Taking responsibility for, and running, the arts grants grants and wilding programme (including involvement in the selection of grantees, continual learning and evaluation)

• Liaising with partners on programme delivery (eg. local councils for wilding)

• Managing selectors and mentors, supporting peer learning, and organising workshops for both programmes

• Taking responsibility for managing the cohorts

• Working with a second team member (to be recruited) to promote the programme

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is: 

• Empathetic, has a positive attitude and a desire to help our grantees

• Energetic with a can-do, self-sufficient attitude, and with the ability to independently manage a busy workload, multiple deadlines and priorities

• Confident in their ability whilst self-aware and committed to ongoing development

• Interested (and perhaps experienced) in nature, ecology or the environment

We would also like to work with someone who has:

• Experience of running a grants or funded cohort programme (ideally in either arts grants or a pioneer-style programme)

• Ability and comfort in creating structure out of ambiguity; identifying challenges and opportunities; and expressing clear proposals for change

• Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written

• Good analytical and project management skills, and strong competency in setting up and using technology such as an application management platform

• Experience of line management or managing contractors. This is not essential, as there will not initially be full line management responsibility, but would be a benefit.

Compensation and benefits

• 4 days per week role, for which the salary is £34,500 (FTE: £43,000)

Job Summary

About the Role

The Speech and Language Therapist at the Education Hub will provide specialist assessment, intervention and support for children and young people affected by the Grenfell Tragedy. The therapist will conduct comprehensive assessments using evidence-based tools, including formal standardised assessments, observational analysis and dynamic assessment approaches to evaluate speech, language and communication needs.

• Work on a 1:1 and group basis with children and young people and provide a high level of expertise to develop students’ speech, language and communication skills.

You will have:

• UK qualified status and registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) with a license to practice.

About the Organisation

The Grenfell 'Education Hub' opened last year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub provides a safe, restorative and relational education support to children and young people, their families and local schools.

A consultation process in 2023 and 2024 about the needs of the community and the bereaved and survivors led to proposals for an educational ‘hub’.  This comprises a wide range of professionals including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Specialist, and a Family Support Practitioner. The Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Philanthropy, UK, the Philanthropy Manager will support the implementation of the UK Philanthropy team’s strategy, with a focus to identify, establish and develop new and existing high value relationships with individuals who have the capacity to support IRC at a five and six figure level. Our client is an independent, Lambeth-based, grant-making foundation and charity with roots from the early 17th century. Their work aims to break cycles of financial deprivation for people living in Lambeth by awarding grants to individuals, organisations and community groups. The foundation’s grant-making is primarily focused on improving education and employment opportunities of young Lambeth residents from low-income backgrounds. This is an exciting time to join the organisation which is in the early stages of an evolving strategic review.

Prospectus is delighted to be working with the foundation on their search for a Grants Officer, who will support the Head of Grants and the wider team in the development of a place-based grants strategy. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Lambeth, London (Hybrid working – 2 days from home 3 days in the office).

The role:
This role will work across all aspects of the foundation’s grant-making activities including assessing and administering grant applications from individuals, working with organisations to develop effective and appropriate reporting and supporting the development of new streams of work. The role requires lots of contact with Grantees (initially via email and telephone) and will involve monitoring & evaluation, project development and administration process management. This role will also contribute ideas towards planning new initiatives and keeping abreast of trends and issues facing the voluntary sector, both nationally and in the Lambeth area.

The work requires outstanding attention to detail and effective time management. The post holder will also undertake assessments in relation to grants to organisations, and other grant-making duties and functions as required by the Head of Grants. The post will sit alongside an existing team of three who also undertake multiple roles to ensure the foundation’s grant-making is consistent, focussed and effective.

The person:
This person will have a high level of intellectual and analytical ability, this could be evidenced by having studied to degree level, a professional qualification of some kind or having worked at a comparable level of complexity in a professional office-based environment. They will have a solid understanding of the issues facing young people (18 to 30) from low-income backgrounds and will have the ability to present clear written assessment reports, making recommendations and decisions and the ability to think strategically as well as practically, to ensure the foundation is living its values. They will have excellent attention to detail and will be an effective time manager. Ideally, this person will have experience of Salesforce database (or similar) and possibly have a local knowledge of Lambeth and the surrounding areas.

IT competent, numerate, and highly organised, this person will have experience of grant-making or at least an understanding of its principles, hopefully a knowledge of the welfare and benefits framework and will be fully appreciative of the issues raised in a multi-cultural setting and an understanding of and a commitment to, issues of diversity and equality. SV 2has been supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse since 1994, and today provides a range of services to anyone in Derbyshire and Derby City who has experienced sexual abuse, assault or violence, including their friends and family members. We support people irrespective of age, gender or when the abuse occurred.

We're looking for a highly motivated ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to work across Derbyshire. The role will support people aged 18 and over who have experienced sexual abuse or rape at any point. About you

Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives?  Are you an experienced event organiser looking for a new challenge?  We are looking for someone with event and project management experience who has excellent communication and relationship building skills to join the team responsible for delivering our programme of events. 

You’ll have good negotiation and presentation skills, a focus on detail and the ability to manage a variety of tasks often to tight deadlines.  You will need a thorough understanding of the principles of event management and how to identify and meet the needs of service users through event delivery as well as knowledge of systems for event evaluation and service improvement.

Previous experience of organising digital events and training or facilitating groups would be an advantage but not essential. 

About the role

The Information Events Coordinator will deliver the patient and family myeloma and AL amyloidosis information events programme consisting of face-to-face and online events hosted by the team and held throughout the UK, developing the strategy for the programme and implementing event activity with the aim to increase participation and attendance.

The role holder will organise the planning, coordination and delivery of the information events programme including administration, promotion and marketing, dealing with event logistics and delivery on the day.  You will monitor the associated income and expenditure for the information events programme ensuring that the programme is delivered to budget.

You will also be responsible for organising the planning and delivery of the digital events programme, dealing with promotion and marketing and taking ownership of technical aspects of running online events as well as developing marketing material and a publicity and communications strategy for the information events programme.

The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal and Governance, the Legal and Governance Business Partner will lead on the provision of support to the charity’s staff and volunteers on all legal and governance matters.

Key responsibilities will include:
