Location: this role can be remote, hybrid or office-based in Viva’s Oxford office with occasional travel in the UK

At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe no one should face dementia alone. Every conversation, every visit and every small moment of reassurance can make a real difference. We are looking for a warm, thoughtful and organised Dementia Adviser to join our supportive team in London Borough of Havering working 21 hours per week.

You will work closely with people living with dementia and those who care about them, providing ongoing support. You will listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person and offer guidance that helps them feel steadier and more confident as their situation changes.

Your days will be varied and meaningful. You might be visiting someone at home, offering calm reassurance over the phone, or working closely with other professionals to make sure the right support is in place. We operate a triage system for new referrals and you will play your part in making sure people are responded to quickly and thoughtfully. You will manage your own caseload, keeping clear and accurate records, while always seeing the person behind the paperwork.

You will be part of a caring and dynamic local team who share ideas, reflect together and support one another. There will be time to meet as a team and opportunities to keep growing your knowledge of dementia, with your manager and colleagues alongside you.

About you

You will have:

- An understanding of dementia, or a willingness to learn about the experiences of people living with dementia and those who care for them.
- Experience providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support - this could be from health, social care, community, voluntary, customer service or other people focused roles.

Job title: The Social Change Nest Financial Controller (Client Funds)

Role Purpose:

This role sits at the heart of our financial controls at the Social Change Nest and combines cash management oversight, payment operations and financial compliance. However, this is not a traditional Financial Controller position. You will work with the team to ensure robust financial controls, accurate reconciliations, secure payment processes and transparent reporting for our diverse portfolio of social impact clients. Key Responsibilities:

1. Payment Processes & Systems Management

●Own and optimise the end-to-end payment infrastructure (banking platforms, expense management tools, Open Collective platform and accounting system integrations)

• Professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA or CIMA

• Strong knowledge of financial governance, internal controls and compliance frameworks
• Experience in at least one of the following:

            -managing multi-currency transactions, FX impacts and global banking corridors

            -oversight of restricted funds, ensuring disbursements align with specific grant conditions and reporting requirements

            -implementing AML and KYC protocols and ensuring rigorous due diligence on all fund movements

• IT-literate and confident with leading technological change; advanced Excel skills and track record of implementing operational improvements

Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Director of Income and Engagement, you will identify, assess and manage contract and funding opportunities. You'll lead the development of compelling, high-quality and cost-effective bids and proposals (including re-securing existing contracts), coordinating bid plans and bid teams to ensure a consistent approach. You will also support mobilisation of new contracts and services and build relationships with commissioners, funders and partners. Using insight, outcomes data and carers' feedback, you'll strengthen bids, inform service improvement and support the development of innovative service models that improve outcomes for carers.

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong track record of securing new contracts and re-securing existing contracts, with experience of commissioning and procurement processes in health, social care or the voluntary sector. You'll have proven experience of leading bid development activity and bid teams, producing high-quality, persuasive proposals to tight deadlines, alongside strong senior stakeholder engagement skills with commissioners, funders and partner organisations. You'll bring a good understanding of health and care systems (including Local Authority and Integrated Care System priorities and pressures), plus experience of service design and improvement, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and people with lived experience.

Harris Hill is seeking an Individual Giving Manager ASAP for 3-6 months, to replace a leaver and interim recruitment period. 

This is a hybrid role, working 1-2dpw in the office, will pay £38-45kpa, and will consider 4 or 5dpw total. The role is also open to possible permanent application when they recruit.

The responsibilities for the interim will include:

Keep the wheels on the current programme

Form part of the panel of Senior IG Officer recruitment

Review and make recommendations for current programme

Complete with support of Head a feasibility study of utilising agencies - we currently do most things inhouse 

Project manage the transition of our lottery product to a new supplier (it currently sits inhouse and within our current CRM, but is not going to be housed within our new CRM)

Develop and start to implement a Regular Giving programme - it is one of the highest performing income streams in the programme, but no stewardship or upgrade activity is happening. 

Good to know

We are in the middle of CRM transition from DonorFlex to Beacon - don't need to have experience of either, just have good experience of using CRMs to best practise

The current programme is not very sophisticated - no AB testing, very little outsourcing, status of data has limited progress but current workarounds drain resource. So - amazing opportunity for an interim to come in and revolutionise the programme pretty easily

Purpose of the role:

To lead and deliver Back Up’s People and Culture strategy, ensuring the organisation attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and engaged workforce aligned to its values and strategic objectives.

To act as a trusted advisor to SMT on all people-related matters, providing expert guidance on organisational development, culture, and workforce planning.

To oversee the effective delivery of HR operations, ensuring high-quality administration, compliance, and continuous improvement, with day-to-day processes delivered through the HR, People and Culture Administrator. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Staffing:

· Oversee best practice in inclusive recruitment, ensuring alignment with Back Up’s values and commitment to diversity and inclusion.

· Partner with SMT and hiring managers to identify current and future workforce needs and develop effective recruitment and workforce planning strategies.

· Ensure role descriptions are consistent, future-focused, and aligned with organisational design and strategic priorities.

· Provide strategic oversight of recruitment processes, ensuring quality, consistency, and positive candidate experience.

· Monitor recruitment metrics (e.g. time-to-hire, diversity of applicants, conversion rates) and implement improvements.

· Oversee onboarding processes to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for new starters.

· Ensure exit interview processes are delivered effectively and that feedback is analysed to inform retention strategies.

Employee Relations and Culture:

· Foster a positive, inclusive and values-led workplace culture where employees feel engaged and supported.

· Lead on complex employee relations matters, providing expert advice, managing organisational risk, and ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.

· Coach and support managers in addressing employee relations issues, performance concerns, and employee wellbeing matters.

· Work with internal groups (e.g. Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion) to design and deliver initiatives that strengthen engagement and organisational culture.

· Lead on staff engagement approaches (e.g. surveys, feedback mechanisms, action planning), ensuring insight is captured and acted upon.

· Working with the SMT develop a programme of internal communications relating to people management, organisational culture and behaviours

 Payroll and Benefits:

· Oversee monthly payroll, pension and benefits processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

· Ensure appropriate controls, reconciliation processes, and data validation are in place, with day-to-day administration managed by the HR Administrator.

· Lead on benefits review and benchmarking to ensure Back Up remains competitive and aligned with organisational values.

Learning and Development:

· Support the SMT to identify training needs and implement professional development programmes for staff and trustees which are tailored to individual and Charity goals.

· Work closely with the People Development volunteer supporting team member coaching, awareness and self-development.

· Oversee the delivery and effectiveness of the induction and ongoing learning programmes

· Lead on the e-learning programme, ensuring content is relevant, impactful, and meets regulatory requirements

Performance Management:

· Oversee performance management processes, ensuring they are consistent, fair, and aligned with Back Up’s values and behaviours.

· Provide guidance and coaching to managers on performance management, including managing underperformance and supporting development.

· Line Management of HR, People and Culture administrator providing clear direction, development support and quality assurance across HR administration.

HR Systems, Data and Insight:

• Oversee HR systems to ensure they are fit for purpose, user-friendly, and effectively support organisational needs.
• Ensure data integrity and robust reporting processes are in place across all HR systems.
• Analyse HR metrics and provide insight and recommendations to SMT.
• Use data to inform workforce planning, organisational development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Best Practice, Policy Development and Compliance:

· Review and update our staff handbook and HR policies and procedures using Back Up’s tone of voice and ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practice.

· Ensure all staff are aware of and understand HR policies and procedures through effective communication and training.

· Identify and manage HR-related risks, escalating significant issues where appropriate.

· Support organisational audits by ensuring HR systems, records, and processes are compliant and well maintained.

· Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and recommend necessary adjustments to policies.

· Support us to be leaders in inclusive workplace practices delivery of the Disability Confident scheme.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collaborate with the SMT to align People and Culture operational practice with Charity goals.

· Oversee annual staff survey.

· Manage HR-related budgets, including training and development costs.

· Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis on HR metrics to inform decision-making.

· Support the ethical and responsible use of AI and other technologies across the charity to support our ability to deliver for people with spinal cord injury.

• Significant experience in a senior operational leadership role, ideally as a COO, Head of Operations or Director of Operations in a charity, social enterprise or purpose-driven organisation.

• Demonstrable track record of building and improving operational infrastructure: systems, processes, policies and ways of working that make organisations more effective and resilient.

• Proven people management experience, including line management of senior staff, performance development, recruitment and team culture-building.

• Strong financial literacy, including experience of budget management, grant compliance, financial reporting and working with a board finance function.

The Role
Position: Community Fundraiser
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part-time or compressed hours can be considered)
Location: Homebased covering West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, East Sussex and Kent
Travel: To support with events and volunteers, this role requires regular travel. 

You'll raise awareness of Canine Partners in the South of England and maximise income from diverse community sources. A proactive approach is key to showcasing our work and charitable goals.

What You'll Be Doing

• Focus on both stewarding existing relationships and cultivating new ones, ensuring an exceptional donor experience throughout
• Act as the entry point for long term supporters and be responsible for the visible presence in the community
• Meet income targets across the year through individuals, clubs and associations, volunteers, events and challenge events
• Contribute to the wider national Community Fundraising direction

About You

• Proven experience of effectively managing relationships with volunteers, supporters, and/or external stakeholders/audiences
