About the Role

This role is a rare and exciting launchpad for an ambitious professional looking to step into major gift fundraising. You do not need a legal background to succeed here - we are looking for someone with the drive, energy, and interpersonal warmth to connect with people, and we are fully committed to providing the coaching and mentoring you need to master the art of fundraising.

Working closely with the Faculty of Law, you will champion philanthropic efforts to raise vital income, by securing donations in the £50,000–£80,000 range from your own developing pool of individual alumni, trust representatives, law firms and a group of loyal barristers' chambers.

You will also gain hands-on experience with face-to-face major gift fundraising by contributing to an ambitious fundraising appeal to redevelop the Faculty of Law’s home, the St Cross Building; alongside securing support for graduate scholarships, academic posts and our growing access and diversity programmes.

Lyme Resource Centre (LRC) is a charity with a mission to minimise risk of Lyme disease whilst encouraging the enjoyment of outdoor activities. This goal is achieved through education of the public and healthcare professionals about ticks and Lyme disease. 

The charity has grown significantly over the past couple of years, and now needs a suitably talented individual to work with the Trustees, to lead the charity into its next phase of development.

·Work with LRC Trustees to provide charity leadership and the continuing evolution of the charity

The Organisation: YCS (Cwmni Siarad) was originally set up in 2011 to improve access to and meet the needs of groups traditionally under-represented in taking up psychological therapies, through the provision of accessible, evidence-based therapies and other support.   It has been mainly run by volunteers but is now progressing widening its services to provide facilities for private and contractual counselling support.  Any profits from its activities is used to subsidise the provision of counselling support to individuals who have difficulty accessing counselling services for a variety of reasons.  Apart from the delivery of face-to-face counselling in South East Wales, the organisation provides on-line counselling services throughout Wales.    

Job Purpose: To lead, manage and develop YCS Counselling services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible and ethical counselling provision. The postholder will support the safe and effective practice of student and volunteer counsellors, overseeing both the client journey and the placement experience to ensure positive outcomes for clients and a supportive, structured development environment for counsellors.

The role requires a strong understanding of the counselling sector, with the ability to work empathetically with a diverse client group, while supporting and guiding counsellors on placement.

As part of a small charity and an NCPS-recognised service, the postholder will adopt a hands-on approach, contributing directly to the day-to-day running of the service, working flexibly as part of the team, and supporting the practical operation of the therapy centre.

Salary: £30,030 pro rota (£18,018 for 21 hours)

Accountable to: Director

Working Pattern: 21 hours per week. Currently the post will be expected to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (9am – 5pm) at our Therapy Centre including one late shift per week (11am - 7pm).

Objectives:

(i)Ensure the delivery of safe, ethical and high-quality counselling services in line with professional standards (BACP/NCPS).

(ii) Develop and implement processes that improve client access, flow, and outcomes (e.g. waiting times, engagement, completion).

(iii) Strengthen and expand the volunteer counselling programme, including recruitment, retention, and development.

(iv) Embed a culture of reflective practice, continuous improvement, and clinical excellence.

(v) Contribute to the financial sustainability of the service through efficient resource use and support for income-generating activity.

(vi) Build and maintain partnerships with training providers and referral organisations.

(vii) Monitor and evaluate service outcomes to inform development and reporting.

Service Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of YCS counselling services, ensuring a high-quality, accessible and well-coordinated provision.
• Oversee the full client journey, including referral, assessment, allocation, engagement and endings.
• Manage client assessment appointments, waiting lists and allocation to counsellors to ensure timely and appropriate access.
• Maintain a small caseload, including undertaking client assessments and delivering counselling where required, particularly in more complex cases.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the therapy centre, including opening and closing the premises and working flexibly as part of a small team.
• Work collaboratively as part of a small, values-driven team, contributing to a supportive and flexible working environment.

Student & Volunteer Counsellor Support

• Lead on the recruitment, induction and onboarding of student and volunteer counsellors.
• Provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the placement journey, ensuring a positive, structured and professionally enriching experience.
• Act as a key point of contact for counsellors, supporting them with queries relating to client work, processes and placement requirements.
• Monitor counsellor progress, including review of client logs, attendance and placement requirements, and completion of reports for training providers.
• Support counsellor wellbeing and development through regular communication, informal support and signposting where appropriate.

Clinical Quality & Safe Practice (in collaboration with Clinical Lead)

• Support the delivery of safe, ethical and effective counselling practice in line with NCPS (or equivalent) standards.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to counsellors on managing risk, safeguarding concerns and complex client presentations, escalating to the Clinical Lead where appropriate.
• Act as a safeguarding point of contact during operational hours (e.g. when locking up) and ensure concerns are appropriately recorded and escalated.
• Monitor client engagement, endings and overall service quality, identifying areas for improvement.

Service Development & Partnerships

• Support the Director in the ongoing development and growth of the counselling service.
• Build and maintain relationships with counselling training providers to support the recruitment and retention of placements.
• Contribute to the development of systems, processes and policies that improve service delivery and consistency.

Operations, Systems & Data

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and service records in line with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
• Use digital systems (including Microsoft 365 and client management databases) to support efficient service delivery, communication and reporting.
• Monitor key service data, including waiting times, engagement and outcomes, supporting reporting requirements.
• Contribute to the effective administration of bookings, cancellations and client communications.

• Build and maintain relationships with local training organisations to increase volunteer placements.

Job description

DMI is looking for a motivated Finance Manager to join our friendly team in London. Working closely with the Head of Finance and the finance team in the UK, and liaising with relevant staff in DMI’s international offices, the successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring that DMI’s finances are managed effectively and in line with internal policies and statutory requirements.

More specifically, the Finance Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

1. Supporting the Head of Finance in ensuring that DMI complies with relevant financial legislation and regulatory requirements in the UK and internationally. This includes supporting the year-end financial reporting and audit processes across the DMI group, together with payroll, VAT and other statutory reporting requirements where relevant.
2. Leading on improving and transforming finance processes and systems across DMI. This includes identifying opportunities to automate workflows, improve reporting, strengthen controls and increase efficiency using digital tools, AI and other technologies where appropriate.
3. Developing and maintaining financial models, reports and tools in Excel to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and organisational decision-making.
4. Preparing and consolidating project and HQ budgets, cash flow forecasts, management accounts and other financial reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
5. Working closely with colleagues in DMI’s international offices to review monthly financial performance, strengthen financial processes and support planning for future periods.
6. Supporting donor financial reporting and ensuring expenditure is incurred and reported in line with donor requirements and organisational policies.
7. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to improve understanding of financial management, systems and controls, including supporting and mentoring staff with both financial and non-financial backgrounds.

Person specification

Required knowledge, skills and experience

1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.
2. Strong Excel and systems skills, including experience using financial management systems (DMI currently uses QuickBooks).
3. Experience preparing and managing budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
4. Experience improving finance processes, streamlining workflows or strengthening financial controls.
5. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work accurately.
6. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work effectively with colleagues from a range of professional and cultural backgrounds.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have proven experience in fundraising, business development, or partnership management, with a track record of generating income and building strong external relationships. Ideally, you will have experience developing fundraising plans, pipelines, or income streams from an early stage, and will be comfortable working in an environment where processes, opportunities, and supporter journeys are still evolving. 

You will be confident identifying and pursuing new opportunities, developing compelling proposals and cases for support, and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including corporate partners, community fundraisers, volunteers, and individual supporters.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

We are looking for a confident, ambitious, and entrepreneurial Fundraising Manager to help grow sustainable income for Adoption UK by building and developing strong relationships with corporate partners, supporters, volunteers, and local communities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supported by the Director of Fundraising, take ownership of developing, delivering and monitoring fundraising events and activities in line with our fundraising strategy. 

• Lead on key income streams to maximise net income and develop sustainable income streams for short, medium and long-term growth. 

• Monitor and evaluate progress against plans using management information and budgets to produce reports and forecasts as required 

• Deliver effective supporter journeys to improve supporter experience, retention, and long-term engagement. 

• Work alongside the Director of Fundraising to develop and implement processes and policies. 

• Grow and diversify income across corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, individual giving and digital activity. 

• Develop compelling proposals and pitches for corporate partners, clearly articulating social value, impact and return on investment. 

• Build and manage a strong corporate prospect pipeline using research, data and structured follow-up to convert opportunities. Identify opportunities to sponsor projects and activities. 

• Collaborate with marketing colleagues to develop assets and digital campaigns to support fundraising appeals and events. 

• Work with all Adoption UK teams to support local fundraising activities in each of the four nations including membership and community teams.

In this role, working alongside your peer, you’ll be responsible for leading and inspiring our Engagement team, with a particular focus on how we steward and grow high-value legacy relationships. You will line manage up to five individuals who deliver both stewardship and awareness activity across their regions, ensuring our supporters receive a seamless and personalised experience and our volunteers are equipped to talk about gifts in Wills.

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across Legacy Marketing & Administration, Philanthropy and Regional Engagement teams to ensure we take a more proactive, insight-led approach to identifying and supporting high-value pledgers. Your role

As a Senior Legacy Engagement Manager – Stewardship and Blended Giving, you will focus on:

• Inspiring and managing the team, working in partnership with the other Senior Legacy Engagement Manager, to deliver a world-class stewardship programme for legacy supporter
• Leading the development of a more structured, insight-led stewardship approach, ensuring clarity on when a personalised, relationship-led approach adds the most value
• Supporting and guiding Legacy Engagement Managers to prioritise and build relationships with supporters most likely to leave significant gifts
• Driving a more proactive approach to identifying and engaging high-value legacy supporters, moving beyond passive acquisition routes
• Playing a key role in developing our Blended Giving approach, working closely with the Philanthropy team to connect legacy and major giving opportunities

Job Purpose:

The Marketing & Fundraising Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing St Hilda’s East’s marketing strategy and will take the lead in organising fundraising events and securing funds from individual donations, and rental and room hire income.

They will lead on communications with external stakeholders through the development and implementation of SHE’s marketing plans and social media strategy.
