We are seeking an experienced and proactive School Accountant to provide effective and efficient financial support to the Bursar and the Director of Operations. The aim of the role is the day‑to‑day management of the school’s financial reporting, financial procedures, controls and compliance, with key responsibilities in management accounting, payroll, and pension administration.

This role is available as soon as possible and may be offered on a full‑time basis or part‑time (3 or 4 days per week) for the right candidate

We are looking for a qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or CIPFA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounts, payroll, and pensions, excellent accuracy and strong financial systems and IT skills. They should be organised, discreet, and comfortable working collaboratively within a small team, with experience in an education or charity finance environment being desirable but not essential.

• good all-round experience of performing administrative duties in a busy service 

• previous experience supporting victims of domestic abuse in a support role 

• a strong understanding of the problems experienced by families fleeing domestic abuse with pets 

• a confident self-starter who has had experience of working with volunteers and home visiting 

• a full, manual UK driving license and comfortable driving a van 

• confident handling cats of different temperaments

The Role

Additionally, you will:

- Support Philanthropy, Trusts and Corporate Partnership teams with pipeline development

- Manage research subscriptions, tools and supplier relationships
- Monitor sector developments, legislation and fundraising best practice

About You

About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work on people experiencing homelessness across London. As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients. Every relationship you build and every gift you secure will help create real opportunities for our clients to move away from homelessness and towards safety, stability and independence.

We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our team at Guildford Foyer. You will respond promptly to any reported incidents, accidents, or concerns, carrying out thorough checks and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone on site. You will also take a proactive approach to preventing anti‑social behaviour, working closely with support staff to maintain a positive environment. The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking a Governance Officer to join our CEO’s Office, providing key support in the delivery of our EDI Strategy and governance functions.

The role

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the centre of The British Academy to support our equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and governance activity. This varied role will support the delivery of the Academy’s EDI Strategy and action plans, helping drive meaningful initiatives across the organisation while also contributing to the smooth running of the Academy’s governance structures.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Academy, Fellows, senior stakeholders and external partners, playing an important role in supporting projects, events, communications and committee activity. From helping shape EDI initiatives and building relationships across networks to coordinating governance processes and supporting high-level meetings, this role offers the opportunity to support work that has an impact across the Academy and contribute to EDI best practice in the research sector.

Lyme Resource Centre (LRC) is a charity with a mission to minimise risk of Lyme disease whilst encouraging the enjoyment of outdoor activities. This goal is achieved through education of the public and healthcare professionals about ticks and Lyme disease. 

The charity has grown significantly over the past couple of years, and now needs a suitably talented individual to work with the Trustees, to lead the charity into its next phase of development.

·Work with LRC Trustees to provide charity leadership and the continuing evolution of the charity 

·Assist Trustees in shaping the charity’s direction and strategy

We are looking for an experienced Complaints and Compliance Coordinator to join the complaints department to provide efficient and professional administration of the complaints process, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely assessment, and handling of cases in line with BABCP procedures, and effective coordination and support for panels to enable fair and well-informed decision-making.

What you’ll be doing

Some of the duties and responsibilities of the role are:

· To keep accurate documentation when logging all complaints, ensuring accurate records for all correspondence

· To set up case files and ensure all correspondence is in a central location for each complaint

· To ensure that all formal complaints are managed in accordance with the BABCP Complaints Procedures

· To ensure that all complaints are dealt with in a timely and professional manner and investigated as directed

· To undertake the initial assessment of complaints on receipt, including reviewing whether complaints meet the initial threshold requirements set out in the BABCP Complaints and Disciplinary Procedures and acknowledging them within specified timeframes

· To identify complaints that are out of scope, vexatious, or otherwise unsuitable for progression, and prepare reasoned recommendations for closure or non-progression

· To support with scheduling the meeting and preparing case files for the panel meetings

· To set up meetings for the purpose of hearing complaints in liaison with all relevant parties

· To support panellists (across the various complaints panels) to ensure that they have all the necessary information to deliver their role effectively

· To gather supporting documentation and data for the purpose of meetings and decision making

· To monitor the Complaints inbox, action and refer as required, exercising sound professional judgement in prioritising, responding to an escalating communication

· To ensure that at every stage of the complaints procedure service users and members receive timely updates regarding the progress of their respective complaints

What we’re looking for

· Experience of working in a similar role and within a regulated environment where standards are set and enforced

· Experience of assessing, analysing or triaging complains, enquiries or referrals, including applying procedural or threshold criteria

· Proven administrative experience and confidence working with case management systems or similar databases

· Demonstrable skills in identifying risk, safeguarding concerns and matters requiring escalation

· Ability to exercise sound professional judgment within a defined framework and justify rationale for decisions made, with strong customer service and interpersonal skills

· Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly and able to contribute to the preparation of reports relating to compliance and operational efficiency
