About the role
This is an exciting time to join our successful fundraising team and support the generation of income for our life-saving work through charitable Trusts and Foundations.
Supporting the successful delivery of our strategy, you will be part of the team who has responsibility for maintaining our relationships with existing Trusts, conducting independent research into both new and existing relationships to identify strong prospects, assisting with the development of compelling cases for support across all our services and having responsibility for a group of Trusts under the guidance and support of your manager.
You might have experience of working in a Trust role and are looking to take that next step in your career, with the opportunity to independently manage a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations while supporting the team on new and innovative ways of raising income. We are also interested in hearing from applicants looking to get into Trust fundraising. A willingness to learn and work with initiative is essential and in return we will support you as you develop your Trust fundraising skills.
Ultimately, a successful candidate will have solid writing and research skills, and the ability to approach the challenges of Trust fundraising for this charity with curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm.

This is a practical, hands-on leadership role at the heart of Richmond CVS’s work with local charities and community groups. The postholder will lead our support to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across the borough – helping them to grow stronger and more sustainable.
The main focus of the role is to strengthen the fundraising skills and income generation of local organisations, alongside providing high-quality advice on governance, planning and strategy. Richmond CVS already works with a range of experienced consultants and trainers and has an established suite of training resources. ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a fantastic chance to join the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, working within the Active Journeys Team as our new Project Officer.
As the Project Officer you will work closely with three existing Project Officers in the project area, and one officer working remotely, to engage with selected schools. You will also work closely alongside colleague for Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, who fund the project. You will support these schools to inspire, encourage and enable more pupils and their families to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot to school.
You will engage and work with selected schools and their wider communities across BCP, developing and delivering fun, engaging and innovative activities and events. These will be inclusive and promote and enable all forms of active travel (walking, wheeling, cycling and scooting) to school. This will be achieved through planning and delivering practical skills (like cycle and scooter skills sessions, bike maintenance and led walks and rides), information events (such as assemblies, drop in sessions, pop up stands), competitions, incentive programmes and classroom sessions. You will also support the successful delivery of BCP Council’s School Streets programme, both for new and existing schemes.
You will work closely with relevant teams at BCP Council and other key stakeholders to achieve the biggest impact through collaborative working.
You will report directly to the local Project Manager, work with the other project officers and local volunteers on the project, and other officers locally, as well as engaging with project officers across the charity.
Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required to be completed by the successful person. Candidates should be based within the geographical area with regular travel expected. We require all our colleagues to use sustainable and active travel options for work related travel wherever possible.

Our charity is growing again - this time we’re transforming online learning for school food. You’ll help shape and create resources for our new online hub. This hub will become a central point for schools, kitchen teams and caterers to seek inspiration. This role will sit in our communications team and focus on creating clear, engaging and practical resources that help people take action, whether that is a headteacher looking to improve their whole school to food or a school chef looking to transform their school meals.
You will help turn complex ideas, research and on the ground practice into user friendly content, in a range of formats, that reflects our brand, showcases the work of our chefs, schools, patrons and partners, and puts the wellbeing of children and young people at its heart.

About you and the role
This role will initially support the set up and roll out of a national school food resource hub, supporting the creation of resources for the platform, working closely with internal teams and external partners. With the hub still in development, you will be joining at a crucial point to help shape what goes live, how it looks and sounds, and how useful it is for the people we most want to reach.
Our aim is that schools and the wider school food community can quickly find practical, trusted resources that help them improve food in schools. That might be a headteacher looking for a simple starting point, a school chef wanting a clear guide to implement new practices, or a teacher looking to introduce food education.
Your role will focus on creating and maintaining high quality resources for the hub. You will turn ideas, evidence, and stories into clear content in different formats, including short one to two pagers, multi-page guides, videos, photographs and interactive resources. You will adapt your writing and framing to different audiences, keeping content aligned with brand guidelines.
This role sits within our comms team but works closely with our school transformation and membership teams. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and develop content, including supporting interviews and capturing case studies. You will also help manage the day to day flow of content into the hub, keeping resources organised, up to date and easy to navigate, while bringing a curious, practical mindset that helps us keep improving what we publish. You’ll identify any resources that could be a wider engagement tool to draw more people to the hub.

Why this role matters
Alexandra Rose run practical place-based food system transformation projects based around a voucher for fresh fruit & veg. We currently have 9 projects across the UK, and we’re aiming to scale in the coming years. Each project operates the same model, but each project adapts to work with different communities, different languages, different community support infrastructure, different retail options, and more.
At the core, we work with local trusted community organisations who distribute our vouchers to local families on low incomes with young children, and in some areas to local adults on low incomes managing food related health conditions (diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, etc). Voucher distribution is linked to a range of wider wrap around services to ensure that our projects support people in getting out of poverty in real and long-lasting ways. Our vouchers area accepted exclusively by local, independent healthy food businesses, ensuring that we are also supporting a fairer, healthier local food economy.
Our model directly tackles the barriers of affordability and accessibility to the most nutrient dense and most expensive element of a healthy diet. We change the health outcomes of young children and adults living with food related health conditions. The Assistant Business Development Officer role was a perfect progression, and after about a year I successfully applied for a Business Development Officer role. This felt really manageable given the space for development as an Assistant Business Development Officer.
What are your favourite parts of the job? Winning contracts is a really great feeling, especially when I know they’ve been shaped with service users and colleague to make sure we’re designing services that offer the best support to the most people. I also value the constant opportunities to learn, feeling supported in my development, and seeing the decisions I’m involved in having a real impact on people’s lives.
What were your highlights from last year? Our team away day in Liverpool, which was great fun as well as chance to hear from the managers of our new Liverpool service. It was one of the first bids I worked on as an Assistant Business Development Officer, and it was amazing to see our bid come to life, being delivered by a passionate group of people.
What would you say to someone thinking of applying? I’d definitely say go for it, and once you start, embrace how much there is to learn! Make the most of a really knowledgeable and supportive team, of managers who genuinely want you to succeed, and of all the opportunities to try new things and develop new skills.”

“What was your route into the team? I was a psychology graduate and teacher training drop out! With my experience of working in schools and academic research into young people’s substance use, I started working as an Education Lead for one of CGL’s young person’s services. I’ve progressed from Assistant to Officer and then Senior Officer since joining the team in 2022.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying? Not to think they can’t do it just because they don’t have experience in bid writing or business development. It’s more important to be able to demonstrate that they’re a confident professional writer and are really passionate about working in the drug and alcohol support sector.”

We’re looking for a strong bid writer to join our successful national Business Development Team as a Business Development Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in business development within a successful team that prioritises social impact, development and progression. We’d particularly like to hear from people that have experience of writing high-scoring drug and alcohol service bids.
Location: London, Brighton, Manchester or Leeds.
Salary: £37,184.91 – £39,891.91 per year. If you’re based in London, you’ll receive an additional £4,133.14 per year - Inner London Weighting.

Responsibilities
About the role
Change Grow Live is a health and social care charity. Across the country, we support people to make positive changes in their lives, including around drug and alcohol use, smoking, homelessness and criminal justice.
As a Business Development Officer, you’ll play a key part in helping us secure new contracts and deliver high‑quality services for adults, children and young people. You’ll work with colleagues across the organisation to develop excellent written material for bids and proposals. This role offers a great opportunity to learn and develop while using your established skills, and you’ll be encouraged to take on more responsibility as you progress.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Writing and editing multiple complex bid responses within live tenders
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to gather information and evidence
- Project managing smaller bids and proposals with support from a Senior Business Development Officer or Business Development Manager
- Completing online research, analysing data and collating evidence
- Creating presentations, diagrams and reports
- Helping improve how we do things.
About you
We’re looking for candidates with proven experience of writing tenders, proposals or grant applications, or writing in other professional or academic environments, for instance journalism, research or marketing.

- Able to analyse data and interpret evidence, with good IT and research skills
