NST Regional Safeguarding Leads are members of the National Safeguarding Team (NST), working to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England. This post will be responsible for the North West region, covering the dioceses of Manchester, Liverpool, Carlisle, Sodor & Man, Blackburn & Chester.
This post supports the development of best safeguarding practice in the North West regional cluster of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals.
The Regional Safeguarding Lead (RSL) provides professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers working in DBFs and cathedrals in their region. The RSL supports the ongoing implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice and support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
The RSL will continue to embed the North West Regional Safeguarding Networks, facilitating the sharing of best practice and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies.
The RSL is required to work closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders in these bodies, representing the NST at the local level. The RSLs work closely as a team and with other colleagues in the NST to ensure Church wide consistency in approach.
Please note: The post involves extensive travel across the North West region, travel to London at least once a month, and to other areas for NST events. Terms
Permanent full and part-time contract positions for on the basis of 5 days (37h 30m) or 2.5 days (18h 45m) per week.
Hours on a Friday evening and Sunday morning will be required.
The salary band is £26,300 - £27,000 pro rata, depending on experience.
The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days pro rata plus 8 days bank holiday pro rata.
The roles are based at Woodlands Central in Clifton and Highgrove Church in Sea Mills, Bristol.
The detailed terms and conditions will be contained in the post-holder’s Contract of Employment and the staff handbook.
There will be a three-month probationary period with a review point after six weeks. An appraisal will take place to confirm completion of the probationary period and appraisals will take place annually thereafter.

The role has an occupational requirement that the post holder be a follower of Jesus and to be a worshipping member of the Woodlands Church Family, Woodlands Central/Highgrove Church (if not already) to ensureprotection of our strong Christian ethos and values, and our charitable objective of advancing the Christian faith. As Welcome Team Leader you will work as part of the Engagement team, leading a team of Welcome Hosts to provide a warm welcome and overall excellent visitor experience at Southwark Cathedral. Acting as a central point of contact, you will lead, support and develop the Welcome Team to deliver a friendly and engaging visit and ensure a high standard of customer service. You will work closely with the Head of Engagement to support the development of the Welcome Team through training and support, organise rotas and ensure adequate cover of all positions, and support the overall goal to increase visitor numbers, donations and visitor engagement.

The Winchester Beacon has been supporting individuals experiencing homelessness for almost forty years. The organisation provides a safe and welcoming accommodation for up to 22 individuals, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day across 4 sites. Residents receive personalised support through regular one-to-one meetings with a Support Worker to plan steps towards positive change and independent living.
Role Description
This 0.6 part-time hybrid role (22.5 hours per week) of Facilities Manager is based in Winchester with some flexibility for remote work. The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance, safety and functionality of the organisation’s main site and off-site residences. Responsibilities include coordinating repairs and maintenance, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and performing regular site inspections. The role also involves maintaining records, managing budgets related to facilities, and collaborating with staff and stakeholders to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
