This is a practical, hands-on leadership role at the heart of Richmond CVS’s work with local charities and community groups. The postholder will lead our support to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across the borough – helping them to grow stronger and more sustainable.

The main focus of the role is to strengthen the fundraising skills and income generation of local organisations, alongside providing high-quality advice on governance, planning and strategy. The role requires curiosity, creativity and strong problem-solving skills to help organisations find practical solutions to real-world challenges.

Richmond CVS already works with a range of experienced consultants and trainers and has an established suite of training resources. The postholder is not expected to be an expert in every aspect of charity management. A key part of the role is to coordinate and facilitate this support, drawing on specialist expertise where needed, while providing direct advice particularly in relation to fundraising and the fundamentals of good governance.

Working with a small, passionate team, you will deliver support, facilitate learning and manage projects that make a real difference to grassroots groups.

Key Responsibilities

Organisational Support 

· Provide practical tailored advice and support to VCSE organisations on governance, fundraising, income generation, and strategic planning.

· Help groups to identify funding opportunities and develop strong, realistic funding applications

SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn Ward of Camden, London, dedicated to supporting residents and young people living in an area of high deprivation.

You will deliver a range of activities e.g. cooking, arts & crafts, sports, trips, music, events etc. You will also offer support and guidance for local young people and enable them to develop life long skills while designing and running their own projects, forums etc. In school holidays you will be required to work an expected 28 hrs a week as we offer a full program of activities and free meals for young people

To manage and develop our community service department to ensure that all elderly and terminally ill pet owners receive help from our volunteers nationwide To lead and motivate all Community Service teams, encompassing the volunteer coordinators, the support team and the volunteer registration team to ensure an excellent standard of service is given to both volunteers and owners alike. To be responsible for ensuring a prompt, appropriate and sympathetic reply to all communications and correspondence within the department. To work closely with Community Service Manager to deliver a smooth, coherent and first class service to everyone we assist both during the working day, evenings and weekends. This post will require a good overall understanding of the needs of elderly people and their pets, ability to problem solve and experience of motivating and managing staff. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1 .VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR LEVEL I & LEVEL II I)

To lead and motivate all Volunteer Co-coordinators Level I & Level II on a day-to-day basis to ensure they are properly trained and competent to deliver the appropriate level and quality of service to all petitioners when handling any request for help. II) Once identified, to refer any difficult and problematic cases to the CEO or the Community Service Manager for prompt action and feedback. III) To work closely with the Community Service manager and volunteer coordinators Level II to ensure delivery of our on-call emergency service both midweek and weekends and deputise for the Community Service Manager in her absence and time off.

IV) In collaboration with the Community Service Manager, to appropriately schedule the out of hours rota to ensure cover at all times for our emergency service.

V) To be contactable out of hours, if needed over the evenings and weekends.

VI) To ensure a Monday morning debrief with the Community Service Manager and weekend coordinator, to log, discuss and resolve any issues that have arisen.

VII) To manage and develop a mentoring scheme for volunteer coordinators Level I to enable them, in time, to progress to a Level II role.

VIII) To mentor all volunteer coordinators Level II to ensure they are reaching their targets and sustaining an excellent level of service.

2.THE SUPPORT TEAM

I) To lead and motivate a team of individuals to ensure an outstanding level of support is provided throughout all communications across the entire support team.

II) To support and mentor the Community Support Manager to help facilitate the delivery of a smooth, coherent and first class service to everyone we help.

III) To ensure any problems with volunteers are quickly identified, addressed and referred if needed for extra assistance.

3.OTHER

I) To ensure all relevant correspondence and communications across the Community Service Department are answered promptly and sympathetically.

II) To produce weekly reports for the Chief Executive in collaboration with the Community Service Manager, to detail work of the team that is, especially happy, unhappy, unusual, interesting, serendipitous etc.

III) To liaise with all other members of The Trust in a flexible manner.

Open Rights Group (ORG) is recruiting for a Pre-Crime Programme Manager

The Pre-Crime Programme Manager leads our work on predictive policing and surveillance within the criminal legal system and counter-terrorism policy, with a particular focus on raising awareness of, and challenging, the impact on over-policed and over-surveilled communities.

They are responsible for the development and implementation of the Pre-Crime programme, working with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and other staff to expand the programme’s profile, network and funding opportunities.

As a Programme Lead, they will also be responsible for working with the SMT and other Area or Programme leads to further develop and uphold ORG’s values and collaborative working culture. They will be recognised as an issue-expert and senior leader within the organisation.

Activities

This is a permanent position at Open Rights Group, and we have secured a number of project grants to deliver the following activities:

• Lead and manage the Safety Not Surveillance (SNS) Coalition, the UK’s only coalition fighting to prohibit AI- and data-driven predictive policing. SNS brings together grassroots partners with national organisations to build power in communities, secure media coverage, engage decision-makers and mobilise those with lived experience.

• Develop detailed policy positions on the deployment of AI and data-driven technologies by private and public actors in criminal justice, immigration and national security.

• Advocacy to encourage decision makers, including MPs, Lords, Government departments and the Information Commissioner’s Office, to adopt ORG’s and the coalition’s recommendations.

• Conduct campaigns that raise awareness of the threats posed to people’s digital rights by the data-driven technologies in policing and counter-terrorism, as well as more broadly.

• Through research and FOIs, help build a legal case with our partners against covert Police-led pathways under Prevent, the UK’s counter-terrorism programme.

• Opportunities to campaign against digital ID, the Online Safety Act and to protect freedom of expression.

What we’re looking for

You might be knowledgeable on the current and emerging technologies impacting policing and the criminal justice system.

We are searching for a Trust and Foundations Officer to work with the Trust and Foundations Manager to grow Turn2us’ income from grant funding. This role will sit within the wider Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, which focuses on building relationships with trusts, corporates and major donors.

The ideal person for this role may have experience working within the charity sector, or equivalent, in a relationship management role and/or knowledge of how to work with Trust and Foundations to generate income. Or they may have relevant transferable skills that they are looking to apply to this role. Job Title: Community Outreach Officer (Scotland)

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £32,395 to £48,593. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £35,635 depending on the candidate's skills and experience. Context and Purpose of the role

The Community Outreach Project (Scotland) an initiative to bring the Ramblers strategy to life, and open the outdoors to some of the groups that have the most barriers to getting out walking.  The project works with community-based contacts in urban areas with a focus on refugees, asylum seekers and people from global majority communities.

Key responsibilities

· Lead on the design, development and implementation of the Community Outreach Project Scotland.

· Identify and develop new partnerships and opportunities to help grow and expand project and impact.  

· Assess and monitor risks, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

·Contribute to the organisation approach to risk management

· Lead on and manage the project budget and programme evaluation and reporting.

· Overall responsibility for groups of inexperienced participants in outdoor settings using industry best

practice in risk management

· Capture success stories, case studies and good practice in how our work makes a difference.

· Work with the Scotland’s director and fundraising team to secure the funding and support required to sustain and expand project.

· Develop effective ways to build bridges between excluded communities and  existing Ramblers walking groups by building strong and proactive relationships with volunteers.

· Engage and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to provide accessible and sustainable walking experiences.

· Contribute to GB-wide strategic approach to community engagement with those who face the greatest barriers to benefit from being outdoors

· Engage and proactively develop excellent working relationships across the organisation

The person

Qualification

· Hill and Moorland or Mountain leader qualified (or trained with assessment pending) and a valid 16 hour Outdoor First Aid Certificate

Knowledge and Experience

· Experience of managing volunteers and staff including training and mentoring outdoor leaders0

· Experience of initiating strong external partnerships and collaborative internal relationships to deliver mutually beneficial activities and outcomes.

· Experience of successfully engaging communities in sport and physical activity programmes, in particular, outdoor activity provision.

· Experience of implementing change and working with others to adopt new ways of working.

· Experience of assessing and managing risk in relation to outdoor physical activity

About the role
 
Missing People offers an inspiring programme of events and challenges throughout the year to engage our community and supporters to raise vital funds for our important work. In this exciting role you will be responsible for organising activities that significantly grow the numbers of people getting involved in events and fundraising activities in line with plans. You will be the point of contact and provide excellent stewardship to those brilliant supporters. This will include working sensitively with people with experience of the cause, often to do something positive ‘in hope’ of a missing loved one, and actively inspiring more of them to do so. The successful candidate will undertake the successful delivery of the National Lottery Heritage Fund project, the Community Development Officer will work closely with the Project Manager, Conservation Officer and the Woodland Trust Northern Ireland Team in order to achieve this. The Community Development Officer will report to the Project Manager.

The Role:

• To resource, develop and deliver a calendar of environmental events/activities to promote heritage and biodiversity within Mourne Park through developing close working arrangements with other relevant bodies.
• To work with all relevant stakeholders to develop appropriate programmes and activities, including youth groups, school and other educators in building heritage and biodiversity awareness and participation.
• To ensure that all programmes and activities are compliant with child welfare and safety practices. To undertake site specific Risk Assessments for all activities/events to ensure compliance in line with Health & Safety practices.
• To actively engage partners, interested organisations and local people to secure consensus, community ownership and involvement in the delivery of the project.
• Carry out data collection, surveys, research, appraisals and information gathering, producing monitoring reports as required.
• To assist the Project Manager to compile reports and claims and supporting the Conservation Officer with practical activities (recording, conservation works etc.) as required.

The Candidate: 
• You’ll have experience Delivering projects. Along with extensive experience of complex, multi-disciplinary projects bringing together a variety of skills from both within and outside the organisation to plan, monitor and deliver projects on time and to budget
• You’ll be experienced in In Environmental Education (especially woodlands and rivers), including experience of volunteer and community engagement.
• You will have experience developing and delivering training programmes (preferably including accredited training through a recognised body) directly and/or through procured providers in environmental or countryside skills
• You will have experience working with, developing and managing land management and owning partners.
• You will have previous experience in roles involving public facing communications, including for example, public consultation, media work, lobbying and event management.
• You’ll be experienced in delivering community led projects and activity plans (Heritage Fund or other) and the creation and management of volunteer groups e.g. “Friends of Groups”
• You will be qualified to HND/Degree level in environmental/heritage related, community development, volunteer management and project delivery or related field is desirable.
• A full driving licence and ability to undertake travel across a wide area. Overnight stays may be required.
