About Degrees
The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM) geoengineering, a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.
Role
The Events Officer will coordinate and support the planning and delivery of Degrees’ international events, including workshops bringing together Degrees-funded researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders, and the biennial Degrees Global Forum. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the Events Officer will help ensure high-quality events that strengthen collaboration, showcase research outcomes, facilitate engagement with policymakers and advance Degrees’ mission to build capacity in the Global South to engage equitably in SRM deliberations.
The Events Officer will also provide general administrative support to the Policy Engagement team.
This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who enjoys coordinating complex logistics, managing multiple priorities, improving processes and ensuring that events run smoothly.
Key responsibilities
The Events Officer works under the supervision of the Events & Projects Manager, while supporting the Policy Engagement team in cooperation with the Policy Engagement Director. Responsibilities will include:
Events
- Arrange travel, lodging and other travel logistics for, funded scientists, policymakers, and other external participants;
- Maintain event budgets and expenditure records, working with the Events & Projects Manager and Operations and Finance team to monitor expenditure against budget;
- Arrange meeting facilities;
- Facilitate requests for visas and other travel authorisations;
- Serve as a point of contact for external event participants’ queries about travel and events;
- Assist Degrees staff with travel questions;
- Ensure proper distribution of participant documents in a timely manner;
- Maintain accurate event plans, timelines, trackers, action logs and participant records, and proactively follow up outstanding actions;
- Coordinate communications and follow-up actions between the Events & Projects Manager and other Degrees teams;
- Support supplier management and contracting processes as directed by the Events & Projects Manager;
- Support the development and maintenance of appropriate event risk assessments;
- Support post-event close-out, including participant feedback, reconciliation of records and expenditure, documentation and lessons learned.
Degrees Global Forum
- Support the Events & Projects Manager and the Conference Manager in the planning and delivery of the Degrees Global Forum;
- Coordinate participant registration processes and attendee records;
- Support abstract, poster and session submission processes;
- Support coordination with the venue, destination management company and other event suppliers, including maintaining schedules, requirements and action logs;
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for funded participants.
Support of policy engagement team
- Maintain the list of external policy engagement contacts.
- Draft general and formal correspondence; reviewing and formatting documents and slides according to style;
- Organise and maintain the policy engagement team’s shared mailbox and filing system;
- Schedule staff and other meetings;
- Support the administration and maintenance of Policy Engagement team processes, including agreed monitoring, evaluation and learning systems;

Qualifications
Essential
- At least two years’ relevant experience in administration, project coordination, events, or a similar role;
- Experience supporting the delivery of events, workshops, conferences, or similar activities, including coordinating travel and other logistics;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an additional three years of relevant professional experience;
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and work effectively under pressure;
- Strong attention to detail and a professional, responsible approach to work;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic, remote environment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds;
- Excellent Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook, and confidence learning new digital tools;
- Experience maintaining financial records, monitoring or reconciling budgets, and working with spreadsheets;
- Experience using CRM systems, project management tools or similar databases;
- Ability to travel internationally when required, including to attend the biennial Degrees Global Forum; and
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
- Experience supporting international conferences, academic events, or other complex multi-day events;
- Experience with event registration or conference management systems;
- Experience using travel management platforms and supporting visa or travel-authorisation processes;
- Experience developing or maintaining standard operating processes;
- Knowledge of project management methodologies;
- Advanced digital skills, such as specialised spreadsheet functions, database administration or online form and workflow tools;
- Experience working in the charity, international development, research, non-governmental or intergovernmental sectors;
- One or more additional languages; and
- An interest in climate change, international development or international research collaboration.

The Job
Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. The Church Engagement and Events Officer will play a key role in building relationships with churches, supporters and volunteers across Britain, Ireland and Europe, helping them engage more deeply with USPG's vision and mission.

North Star Service, part time 30 hours per week (to include Tuesday, hours can be worked across 4-5 days)
North Star Service works with people who are experiencing homelessness, and have difficulties with their relationship with substances and mental health. The service main base is at the Compass Centre, however also operates across Bristol and within homeless hostels. North Star runs a variety of interventions including initial engagement, drop-ins groups to build relationship skills and safety, psychological skills groups and one to one therapy either as a weekly longer term intervention, or a standalone session format in drop-in clinics embedded within hostels.
Assertive Contact & Engagement (ACE) Service, part time 22.5 hours per week (to include a Tuesday, Hours can be worked across 3-5 days):
St Mungo’s Assertive Contact & Engagement (ACE) Service works with people with complex mental health needs who are not actively engaged with other services and face multiple barriers to accessing mainstream support. The service operates across Bristol, running a variety of services including community one to one work, therapeutic groups and drop-ins, and training for other services.

The focus of this role is on reduction of risk and minimising impact of domestic abuse by providing support, advice and assistance to adults and any children living within Stop Domestic Abuse’s dispersed accommodation who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse.
Dispersed accommodation is safe, self-contained accommodation with a similar level of specialist domestic abuse support as provided within our refuges but which may be more suitable for victims-survivors who are unable to stay in a refuge with communal spaces. This may include: women with male children over 16, male victims-survivors, including men with children, LGBTQ+ victims-survivors, older adults, victims-survivors with disabilities, victims-survivors facing multiple disadvantages and victims-survivors with pets

The Executive Assistant is a senior member of the Lead Bishop's Office, working closely with the Lead Bishop and Chaplain to extend and enable the Bishop's ministry and leadership across the Diocese of York. Responsibilities
Executive Support to the Lead Bishop
- Provide high-level executive support to the Lead Bishop.
- Manage a complex and demanding flow of correspondence and diary, ensuring that responses, appointments and commitments align with the Bishop's priorities and strategic objectives.
- Exercise judgement in balancing competing demands on the Bishop's time and attention.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, visits, engagements and public events.
- Organise travel, accommodation and associated logistics.
- Ensure the Bishop is fully briefed and appropriately prepared for meetings, visits, services and public engagements.
- Maintain oversight of actions requiring the Bishop's attention and ensure timely follow-up.

- Lead on the Bishop's Office responsibilities as part of clergy appointment processes in the York Archdeaconry (as set out in the process document), working closely with the Archdeacon of York's Office and the Chaplain.

- Work closely with the Bishop and Chaplain to support the delivery of strategic priorities and objectives.
- Maintain awareness of forthcoming commitments, key developments and emerging opportunities across the Diocese, including a weekly diary meeting with the Bishop and chaplain, a quarterly look ahead and meetings with the Archdeacon's Office and the other Bishops' EAs for diary setting and coordination

- Support the administration and coordination of the Ministerial Development Review (MDR) process within the Archdeaconry of York, working with relevant clergy, reviewers and diocesan staff to ensure reviews are arranged and completed in a timely manner.

Woolwich Service Users Project is a charity based in central Woolwich, supporting people experiencing homelessness, poverty, poor mental health, addiction, social isolation and multiple disadvantage. WSUP provides a welcoming, non-judgemental, open-access community space where guests can access practical support, health and wellbeing services, specialist advice, and trusted relationships.

Purpose of the Role
The Health Coordinator will lead and develop WSUP’s health coordination offer, ensuring that guests can access timely, appropriate and compassionate support around physical health, mental health, addiction, sexual health, primary care, housing-related health needs and wider wellbeing.
The postholder will provide structured triage, one-to-one support, casework, referrals and follow-up for guests experiencing complex needs. A key part of the role will be helping people who are not currently engaged with statutory or mainstream services to reconnect with healthcare, housing, welfare and specialist support.
The Health Coordinator will also play a key role in developing and overseeing WSUP’s women’s service provision, including Women’s Wednesday. This will include coordinating health and wellbeing support, strengthening referral pathways for women, supporting peer-led activity, promoting safety and inclusion, and ensuring the service responds to the needs of women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, poor mental health, addiction, temporary accommodation, poverty, social isolation or resettlement barriers.
The postholder will also support female residents linked to women’s accommodation and community-based support pathways in Greenwich, helping them access WSUP’s trusted community hub, women-only provision, health coordination, practical support, peer connection and specialist referrals at a pace that feels safe and appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health Coordination and Casework
· Provide a welcoming, trauma-informed and non-judgemental first point of contact for guests seeking health and wellbeing support.
· Carry out structured triage conversations to identify health, housing, safety, safeguarding, mental health, addiction, income, resettlement and practical support needs.
· Support guests to register with GPs, attend appointments, understand health information and navigate primary care services.
· Coordinate access to health interventions delivered through WSUP and partner agencies, including Hepatitis C testing, TB screening, dental support, eye care, sexual health services, mental health outreach and addiction recovery pathways.
· Support guests to access sexual health testing and referrals, mental health referrals, substance misuse support, welfare advice navigation and warm referrals into appropriate specialist services.

2. Development of Women’s Service Provision
· Lead the development and day-to-day oversight of WSUP’s women’s service provision, including Women’s Wednesday.
· Ensure Women’s Wednesday provides a safe, welcoming, women-only, low-barrier community support space offering peer support, health coordination, wellbeing activities, welfare advice and community connection.
· Work with women using WSUP services to co-produce activities and shape the ongoing development of the women’s programme.
· Identify and respond to the specific needs of women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, unsafe housing, temporary accommodation, poor mental health, substance misuse, poverty, trauma, isolation or resettlement barriers.

3. Partnership Working

Position: 000052 Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based, Macclesfield, Cheshire. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week
Salary: Circa £22,600 per annum (FTE circa £28,300 per annum)
Contract: Fixed term contract until 31 March 2027. Our services are contracted. We currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2027.

The Role
Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
- Provide personalised information, advice and support.
- Supporting stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.
- Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.
About You
You will have experience in:
- Experience/background in a caring profession, ideally supporting people with disabilities
- Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records.
- An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association.
- A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload.
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role

The role
Reporting to the Director of Programme Delivery, you will provide day-to-day coordination, monitoring and support across a portfolio of international projects.
Your principal focus will be coordinating a major multi-country, multi-year programme across multiple participating countries. You will work closely with Country Directors, project teams, technical and MEAL colleagues, Fundraising, Finance and People teams, as well as donors and delivery partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating multi-country project delivery against agreed workplans, budgets, results frameworks and donor requirements
- Maintaining clear project plans, risk registers, dashboards, logframes and delivery trackers
- Identifying risks, delays and bottlenecks early and helping teams find practical solutions
- Managing budgets, forecasts and expenditure, including donor financial reporting and budget realignments
- Supporting country teams and partners to strengthen their project and financial-management capacity
- Managing or matrix-managing project colleagues across different countries and disciplines
- Coordinating monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities, ensuring that reliable evidence informs delivery
- Supporting high-quality narrative and results reporting in collaboration with grant-management colleagues
- Monitoring sub-awards, sub-grants and partner compliance
- Supporting donor monitoring visits, audits, procurement and grant-compliance processes
- Contributing to proposals and concept notes for future institutional funding
- Ensuring safeguarding is embedded effectively across the projects you coordinate
- Travelling internationally when required to support programme delivery
As projects begin, evolve and close, you will work flexibly across the wider portfolio, providing dependable coordination wherever it is most needed.
About you
You will bring significant experience coordinating large, restricted-funded international programmes, ideally valued at more than £1 million per year. This may have been gained within international development, child protection, education, health, WASH or another related field.
You will also bring:
- A recognised project-management qualification and strong practical expertise in work planning, risk management and multi-stakeholder coordination
- Experience delivering single- or multi-country projects funded by institutional donors such as USAID, FCDO, the Dutch Government or major foundations
- Strong financial-management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure monitoring and donor compliance
- Experience of complex institutional-donor grant requirements, or the ability to apply closely related experience
- Experience managing or matrix-managing multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams
- Strong knowledge of results frameworks, indicators, monitoring and donor reporting
- Experience overseeing sub-awards, sub-grants, consortium partners or other delivery partners
- Excellent organisation, analysis and problem-solving skills
- The ability to remain calm, make sound decisions and manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and spoken English; Spanish, Romanian, Ukrainian or Arabic would be an advantage
