We are entering a period of transition and growth under our recently appointed CEO, Jo Godsmark. We are now looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager to strengthen our fundraising and help deliver the charity’s next phase of development.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the development and delivery of an organisation-wide fundraising strategy and annual plan, with responsibility for agreed income targets. You will grow income through corporate partnerships, community fundraising, individual giving and fundraising events, while strengthening donor journeys, stewardship and the effective use of our Beacon CRM.
You will manage and develop the Corporate and Community Fundraising Officer and work closely with colleagues leading trusts and foundations, marketing and corporate relationships. This is a hands-on role for someone who can set direction, build lasting relationships and turn plans into action.
About You
You will be an experienced fundraiser with a strong track record of delivering fundraising growth, including responsibility for generating six-figure annual income. You will bring demonstrable success in donor stewardship and in developing income through corporate partnerships, community fundraising, individual giving, campaigns or events.
You will be a confident relationship-builder who can influence and engage others, manage competing priorities and maintain a clear focus on results. You will also be comfortable using a fundraising CRM and performance data to improve supporter relationships, monitor progress and inform decisions.

The Opportunity
This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.
Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. Role Description
The Senior Fundraising Manager will play a key strategic role in supporting the mission and ministry of St Edmundsbury Cathedral by developing and delivering a diverse range of fundraising activities, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, major funding opportunities, donor stewardship and the growth of sustainable income.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, the role will identify and develop new funding opportunities, build strong relationships with Trusts and Foundations, and lead the preparation and submission of high-quality funding applications and reports. The postholder will also oversee the Cathedral’s Patron and donor relationships, legacy and regular giving activity, and provide strategic oversight of major fundraising events and initiatives.

About the Team
You will join a small, collaborative fundraising team comprising a Trusts and Foundations Manager, a Community Fundraising Coordinator, a National Activity Events Coordinator and a Fundraising Administrator. The Head of Fundraising leads on corporate partnerships, major donors and fundraising strategy. Each team member works with a degree of autonomy whilst contributing to shared income goals and a collective approach to supporter care.
Role Purpose
To steward and grow relationships with our individual supporters across every stage of their journey with HDA - ensuring that however someone first connects with us, they feel known, valued and inspired to stay with us for life. This role leads on legacy and in memory fundraising, two areas of significant strategic importance to us, whilst sustaining and developing our wider base of individual donors through appeals, regular giving and digital communications. Working closely with colleagues across fundraising and communications, you will help ensure that every supporter feels genuinely connected to our cause and to the community of people whose lives are shaped by Huntington's disease. As part of the Prospect Research Team, you'll provide the research and insight that helps colleagues identify new opportunities, build meaningful relationships and make informed fundraising decisions.
You'll play an important role in identifying new funding opportunities and providing the insight that helps colleagues build successful relationships with donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners. Through high-quality research and analysis, you'll help fundraisers to understand who is most likely to support our work, enabling them to make informed decisions and deliver personalised stewardship.
Working closely with colleagues across the High Value teams, you'll ensure our fundraising activity is informed by evidence, delivered ethically and supported by accurate data. You'll also help us develop and grow a strong prospect pipeline that will support our fundraising ambitions for years to come.
