The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.

Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. We are resolutely focused on outcomes, driven by quality evidence.
You would be joining a team that is passionate, ambitious, determined and warm. We care deeply for our colleagues, our charity partners and the young people we serve.
About this role
The Head of Engagement is a strategically significant and high-impact role within the Philanthropy team, responsible for leading and developing Impetus’ engagement programme across both volunteering and pro bono support.
At Impetus, volunteering refers to opportunities for employees of our donor firms to engage directly with the young people supported by our portfolio partners, helping to inspire, motivate and broaden horizons through meaningful interactions.

It involves skilled volunteers and partners contributing professional expertise to address strategic challenges and opportunities within our charity portfolio, helping to build capability, resilience and long-term impact.
The Head of Engagement will shape the strategic direction and lead the delivery of a high-quality programme of volunteering and skilled pro bono support, creating meaningful outcomes for portfolio partners while delivering engaging and rewarding experiences for supporters. The postholder will ensure that engagement opportunities align with Impetus’ investment priorities and organisational objectives, respond to donor interests, and maximise impact for the young people and charities we serve.
The role combines strategic leadership, relationship management, programme innovation and operational oversight. About us
Epilepsy can be one of the most frightening and isolating conditions a child can experience. The loss of any sense of safety, trapped in an unpredictable world, not knowing when their next seizure will happen, where it will happen, who will be there and if they will be hurt.
Living in this unpredictable world takes its toll on a child’s physical and mental health, as well as impacting their education and social life. It can limit opportunities for the rest of their life.
Children with epilepsy have a right to be heard. We are here for them.
Together we can create a society where children and young people with epilepsy have a voice and can live happy, fulfilled lives. Through research that improves diagnosis and treatments, campaigning for children’s rights, and providing innovative tools, information, and practical support for living day-to-day life.
Together we create possible.

About the role
As our Senior Grants Partnerships Manager, you'll own a portfolio of up to ten large trusts, foundations and institutional funders at six and seven figure level, deepening existing relationships while opening up new ones across North America, the Gulf States, East Asia, Northern Europe and the UK.
Working closely alongside our Programmes and Advocacy colleagues, and sitting within the Programmes team so you're close to the work itself, you'll research and win new donors, shape compelling proposals and steward the relationships that follow. Your relationship management skills will be exceptional, and you'll know how to convey HHC's mission compellingly to a wide range of senior audiences.
You'll be collaborative and culturally empathetic, comfortable working across teams, and equally at ease leading face-to-face cultivation as you are driving prospect research and pipeline development. Most importantly, you'll share our conviction that every child belongs in a family, and understand that every partnership you build and every proposal you win brings us closer to consigning orphanages to history.
About Hope and Homes for Children
Orphanages don't protect children, they harm them. The last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs: someone to love them. Decades of evidence shows that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development, and that orphanages subject children to high levels of abuse and neglect.
Today, over 5.4 million children are confined to orphanages worldwide, and more than 80% of them are not orphans at all. Children belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love: somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.
