We are SafeLives, the UK-wide charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for everyone, for good.
We work with organisations across the UK to transform the response to domestic abuse. We want what you would want for your best friend. We listen to survivors, putting their voices at the heart of our thinking. We look at the whole picture for each individual and family to get the right help at the right time to make families everywhere safe and well. And we challenge perpetrators to change, asking ‘why doesn’t he stop?’ rather than ‘why doesn’t she leave?’ This applies whatever the gender of the victim or perpetrator and whatever the nature of their relationship.
Last year alone, we delivered more than 700 sessions to over 15,000 learners across the UK in policing, health, housing, justice, education and the specialist sector. And we have reached 90,000 adult and 100,000 child survivors through programmes designed and delivered with partners.
In the last 9 years, close to 7,000 perpetrators have been challenged and supported to change through flagship interventions developed by our Drive Partnership and the programme continues to expand year on year.
Together we can end domestic abuse. Forever. For everyone.

Fundraising Officer, Peterborough Cathedral — £32,000
Help write the next chapter for one of England's great cathedrals. No fundraising background? Bring your relationship-building skills, we'll teach you the rest.
Peterborough Cathedral is at a genuinely exciting turning point. We're delivering an ambitious Strategic Review and Masterplan, and moving fundraising away from reactive, crisis-driven appeals towards something more strategic and sustainable, built on real relationships, better systems and disciplined stewardship. Full training, a structured induction and regular one-to-one support from our Head of Fundraising are all part of the package.
What you'll actually be doing:
We know brilliant fundraisers come from all kinds of backgrounds, so if you don't tick every box on the person spec, we'd still love to hear from you. The charity is looking for an experienced and strategic fundraiser with a strong track record of securing income, managing pipelines and building funder relationships. You will bring excellent communication and relationship-building skills, alongside strong leadership and people-management experience. Corporate partnerships experience would be valuable, as would experience of membership or mixed-income models, but most importantly you will be motivated by the mission and excited by the opportunity to grow and diversify income.
To apply, please submit your CV in the first instance. Should your experience be suitable, we will arrange for a meeting to brief you on the role. You'll then have all the information you need to formally apply. We are looking forward to connecting with you soon.
This charity is a Disability Confident Employer. After you apply, you will receive an email asking whether you wish to declare a disability for this application. As part of this commitment, a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role will be offered an interview.
At Prospectus we invest in your journey as a candidate and are committed to supporting you with your application. We welcome all candidates to apply, regardless of age, sex/gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, marital status or pregnancy/maternity. If you have any disability and require reasonable adjustment/s to any part of the process then please contact Jessica Stoddart at Prospectus.
