Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and influential retail leader to join us as our Store Manager in Garstang, Lancashire, where you'll build on the success as one of the town's strongest-performing charity shops while leading an engaged volunteer team and shaping the next phase of its growth!
About Us
Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard, delivering lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead of a successful, well-established shop at the heart of the Garstang community. You'll manage and develop a dedicated volunteer team of over 30 people, building capability, engagement and stability while maintaining the high standards that have made the shop one of the town's leading charity retail destinations.
With trading across two floors and plans to return to seven-day opening, you'll play a key role in driving future growth. From developing the dedicated volunteer team to evolving the shop's unique retail offer and identifying new commercial opportunities, you'll have the freedom to combine creativity with commercial thinking to maximise income for children around the world.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:
Save the Children UK believes in a world that is fair, inclusive and equitable where all children have the opportunity to change their world. We apply this to our workforce, and we are committed to developing and supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organisation where structural inequality is actively addressed, and all employees have a sense of belonging and feel that they can thrive.

We are not looking for just one type of person - we want to recruit people who can add fresh perspectives, innovative ideas or challenge that disrupts the risk of group think. Stewardship helps Christians to be the best stewards of the resources God gives them.
Every year we support tens of thousands of people with everyday giving through to strategic philanthropy, and help thousands of churches, charities and Christian workers to strengthen their finance and governance.
We operate with the financial scope and technical complexity of a mid-sized financial services institution, but with a clear Christian mission at our heart. Amongst other things, we safely received and granted out over £134m from our Donor Advised Fund in 2025, deliver payroll services to over 900 clients each month, reach thousands with our products and campaigns, and still have ambitious plans to grow.
The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) will see digital and technology not simply as a function or infrastructure, but as a ministry enabler: creating the systems, platforms and experiences that enable increased generosity, strengthen churches and charities, and scale Kingdom impact. A key part of the role is enabling scalable growth across both Giving and Ministry Services, with a focus on platform development, product capability, data infrastructure, insight-led decision making and innovation.
This role is a new addition to a well-established Executive team, who work with high levels of trust, candour and care, and who value laughter, integrity and grace as much as strategic insight and financial acumen.
The CDO will need to work from our office near Barbican, London at least one day a week.
We help Christians be the best stewards of the resources God gives them

Volunteer It Yourself (VIY), a UK-wide not-for-profit organisation linked to youth skills/employment, volunteering and construction, is looking for a passionate Fundraising Coordinator to support our income generation work and help us grow our funding.
VIY combines volunteering and DIY by challenging young people aged 14-24 to learn trade and building skills, on the job, by helping to renovate and retrofit community buildings (e.g. youth clubs, community centres, sports clubs, and arts, music and cultural venues).
Importantly, the majority of young people we work with are outside of, or at risk of being outside of employment, education or training. Young people participating in VIY are mentored by professional tradespeople and gain vocational skills accreditations as well as access to further training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities with local providers and employers beyond the project.
VIY launched in 2011 and now operates UK‑wide with £2.6 million annual income and 25 full time employees. To date, over 1,000 youth and community buildings across the UK have been renovated, involving 18,000 young people and 1,200 trade skills mentors. You can read more about our work in our impact report.
As the Fundraising Coordinator you will support VIY’s new business function by keeping information organised, managing key systems, and helping with early‑stage bid writing. We’re seeking someone who is organised, curious and confident in their writing, with the ability to juggle different tasks and build positive relationships across the team. You don’t need previous fundraising experience — transferable skills from other roles or sectors are just as valuable.
You will play an important role in supporting VIY’s income growth and helping the team work efficiently as we expand nationally. This is a great entry point into fundraising, giving you hands‑on experience in research, bid coordination, stewardship support and Customer Relationship Manager CRM (we use Salesforce) within a fast‑moving, mission‑driven organisation.
