Weekends can be a particularly important time in supported accommodation. With fewer services open and less structure around the day, having a consistent, trusted member of staff available can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing, confidence and ability to keep moving forward.
As a Weekend Support Assistant at St John’s Mansions, you’ll provide practical, person-centred support to residents, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to live more independently. Working from agreed support and risk plans, you might help someone manage their money or accommodation, access appointments and community services, develop everyday living skills or stay engaged with activities and goals that matter to them.
You’ll also play an important role in keeping the service safe and well coordinated throughout the weekend. You’ll respond to changing needs, safeguarding concerns and unexpected situations, maintain accurate records and make sure important information is clearly handed over to the wider team. You’ll need to be approachable and compassionate, while also confident in setting boundaries, using your judgement and knowing when concerns need to be escalated.
You’ll join an experienced team where you can develop your knowledge of supported housing, safeguarding, recovery-focused practice and working alongside people experiencing multiple disadvantage, with access to training, supervision and ongoing development.
We have two roles available, 1x 37.5 hrs per week and 1x 22.5 hrs per week. Exact working patterns will be discussed in interview.

About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.

About You
You will be an experienced insight, evaluation or research practitioner with strong analytical skills and a practical, community-focused approach to generating, analysing and using evidence.
You will be confident working directly with Global Majority communities and colleagues across REN and HHU, developing accessible methods, tools and resources to gather and make sense of qualitative, quantitative and lived-experience evidence. You will understand the importance of building evaluation and learning into community engagement and co-design from the outset.
You will bring professional curiosity, methodological integrity and sound judgement, able to identify patterns, question assumptions and communicate clearly what the evidence does and does not tell us, where evidence is limited and where further investigation is needed.
You will work closely with the Anti-Racism Strategic Lead and Bhip Programme Lead, providing robust analytical and evidence support while retaining professional objectivity and methodological responsibility for the underlying evidence. You will be confident reporting findings accurately, including where evidence is limited, contradictory or uncomfortable for REN, HHU or system partners, and will work collaboratively across the wider Bhip team to ensure evidence and learning are useful, accessible and acted upon.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to help build and shape the insight, evaluation and learning approach for an ambitious five-year programme, working across communities, organisations and systems to understand what is changing, what works, for whom, how and under what circumstances.
Bhip has a working Theory of Change and an emerging evaluation framework, logic model, and Global outcomes and data system, which will continue to evolve through learning. You will help operationalise these across the programme, developing and refining the practical methodologies, tools, measures and resources needed to generate and capture community insight, lived experience, programme activity and quantitative data consistently, ethically and meaningfully.
Working alongside the Anti-Racism Strategic Lead and with the Co-design Lead, Community Engagement team and Global Majority communities, you will develop and test culturally grounded, accessible and innovative ways of gathering evidence and understanding change. You will explore creative and participatory approaches that work for different communities, while ensuring the evidence remains robust and useful for analysis and Bhip’s wider evaluation requirements.
As Bhip develops, you will bring different forms of evidence together to identify patterns, test assumptions and evaluate emerging approaches and system-practice tests against Bhip’s Theory of Change, logic model and programme and organisational outcomes. You will provide analytical and evidence support to the Anti-Racism Strategic Lead, while working across the wider REN and HHU Bhip team to ensure evidence informs learning, accountability, programme development and system change.
You will help turn what we learn into accessible evidence, resources and learning for communities, Bhip colleagues, partners and decision-makers, ensuring communities can see how their insight was used, what action followed, what changed, what did not change and why and contributing to learning across Bradford and the National Collective.

Who we are
We are OUTpatients, the UK’s LGBTIQ+ cancer charity. Proudly led by and for our community, we are here to shake up the system, advocate for equity, and stand up for every LGBTIQ+ person affected by cancer. Our passion to support others is born out of personal experience; we understand what it’s like to not see yourself reflected in the services you use, and feel like you are left in the margins at a time when you most need personalised support. That is why we host peer support, educate healthcare professionals and help to shape national policy so that nobody has to go through cancer alone.
The position
The Head of Fundraising & Business Development is one of three new senior leadership roles we're creating alongside our CEO, the first time OUTpatients has built a leadership team of this kind. It's a rare chance to build an income generation function from scratch, not inherit and manage one that already exists.
You'll be the driving force behind how we fund our growth: designing and delivering a multi-channel income strategy spanning trusts and grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving and commercialised education products, and personally securing the gifts and partnerships that sustain our peer support, healthcare education and advocacy work. This is a hands-on, deeply personal role. You'll write the bids, pitch the sponsors and build the relationships yourself, not oversee others doing it.
Working closely with our incoming Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer, and reporting directly to our CEO, your work will directly shape how many more LGBTIQ+ people affected by cancer we're able to reach.
To learn more about the role, please read the attached Job Description.
We exist to improve the experiences and outcomes of LGBTIQ+ people living with and beyond cancer.
