This role is an integral part of the Community Fundraising team, providing support to people raising funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and being the first point of contact for enquiries. What you’ll be doing:
- Support and provide high levels of stewardship for supporters who are fundraising for the Charity.
- First point of contact for all community fundraising supporters, including answering incoming calls and meeting and greeting supporters that visit the Charity office.
- Work alongside the Senior Community Fundraising Executive to help identify and develop ways to encourage supporters to fundraise for the Charity.
- Send fundraising materials and thank supporters in a timely manner, keeping an accurate record of these communications on the database
- Ensure community fundraising information on the Charity website and displayed within the hospital is up to date.

About the role
Reporting to the Programme Director of the What Works Hub for Global Education, you will communicate the programme’s mission and findings to a range of audiences – from policymakers in target countries, to leading global academics and international organisations. This will involve overseeing and delivering the Hub’s communications strategy, managing the Hub’s website and social media channels, creating and disseminating content, and coordinating with implementation partners in country, as well as offering a range of hands-on support as part of a tight project team. The role will involve working closely with our strategic and consortium partners, to ensure that communications and engagement activities are targeted effectively to different audiences and country contexts.
You will be based within the What Works Hub at the Blavatnik School of Government, as part of the Hub’s central programme team. You will also have strong links to the School’s corporate Communications and Events team, who will provide senior guidance and support on communications and engagement. You will be supported by, and line-manage, a Communications and Projects Officer.
This role is fixed-term until 30 June 2027.
Whilst the role is a Grade 8 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with less experience for which an appointment would be at Grade 7 (£39,424 - £47,779 p.a.) with the job title and responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.

You can get your head around research and policy ideas easily, and are comfortable working with academics. You are responsive enough to deliver fast on their priorities and win trust, but assured enough to offer ideas about more effective or efficient ways to deliver their objectives.
You must be a self-starter who is confident working in a matrix style, can cope with complexity and ambiguity, and can define, schedule and drive your own objectives and activities based on a strong understanding of the programme objectives. The role also demands excellent writing skills, digital fluency, and the ability to get to grips with complex concepts and networks.
You will be able to promote the Hub’s thinking, evidence and stories to a broad audience, including policymakers worldwide, working strategically with partners to build the Hub’s credibility as the go-to place for excellence on learning outcomes.
You will have excellent strategic thinking and interpersonal skills, experience of working with partners globally, experience of writing articles and copy for websites, and demonstrable editorial judgement. Strong project management and proven delivery skills, along with relevant work experience and demonstrable experience using social media in a professional communications capacity, are essential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and implement strategies to attract new audiences and deepen engagement with existing ones through various channels like social media, email, and events.
· Work with the Head of Engagement to improve the visitor experience to encourage repeat visits and positive word-of-mouth
· Work with the Communications Team to create and manage marketing campaigns to promote the Cathedral and its offerings
· Attend Cathedral public events and programming to gather relevant data and audience feedback
· Build creative and engaging forms of visitor feedback that captures qualitative and quantitative data key to the building of an audience-led Engagement programme
· Work with the Engagement team to plan and execute audience-led programming to attract visitors and enhance engagement, such as concerts, lectures, or tours, delivering on the new Engagement Strategy
· Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of audience development efforts
· Work with other departments, including marketing, fundraising, and education, to achieve the Cathedral’s vision and mission values
· Working with the Head of Engagement, CFO and COO to manage budgets related to audience development activities
· Develop and implement an audience development strategy and an evaluation framework that aligns with the Cathedral's overall goals

Hospice at Home’s skilled team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants provide our exceptional core services of palliative and end of life care and support people in their last year of life also providing additional services such as Lymphoedema, Bereavement and Family Support, Befriending, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy.
We provide individualised care and support to improve quality of life and our end of life care helps facilitate a peaceful and dignified death in the home and support to those who are bereaved.
Although we receive some funding from the NHS, we need to raise over 85% of our running costs in order to ensure that this vital help is available when needed and remains free of charge to patients and their families.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Major Gifts & Individual Giving Lead to join our fundraising team.
This role leads the operational development of Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland’s Major Gifts, Individual Giving and Legacy programmes, and support in the development of Trust & Foundation applications.
As a new area of focus for the organisation, the postholder will be responsible for designing, launching and growing a full supporter journey for individual donors—from regular giving through to mid‑value, major gifts and Legacy giving. They will build and manage a strong pipeline of donors and prospects, cultivating long‑term philanthropic support for the charity.
The role also carries responsibility for developing strategic corporate partnerships with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) alignment, and values‑led partnerships that deliver sustainable mutual benefit.
They will drive the charity’s communications and supporter experience. Working with the wider fundraising team, the postholder will help design and deliver a communications plan, oversee development of social media, maintain website content, and produce print and digital materials to support fundraising and raise awareness of fundraising opportunities.
