Job description

The Role

We're looking for a collaborative and creative communicator to help strengthen how volunteers experience the Law Society.

As our Volunteer Engagement & Communications Officer, you'll play a key role in making sure volunteers across our Get Involved programme feel informed, connected, and valued. You'll bring their stories to life, build meaningful engagement initiatives, and ensure their voices shape what we do.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about community building, storytelling, and creating inclusive experiences at scale.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a strong communicator who is passionate about creating engaging, inclusive experiences and building a sense of community. You'll be confident translating messages into clear, accessible content and comfortable working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. You bring a proactive, organised approach and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You're curious and insight-driven, using feedback and data to continuously improve engagement and experience. Experience in communications, community or volunteer engagement is valuable, and an understanding of inclusive practices or membership organisations would be beneficial.

What's in it for you

This is an excellent opportunity to work with contemporary thinkers in a progressive membership organisation. The successful candidate will join a strong brand with a reputation for excellence and legal expertise, committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and a culture of trust, clarity, excellence and respect.

We offer hybrid working (minimum 2 days a week working on site), a generous flexible benefits package, a friendly working environment and the opportunity to develop your career within a professional organisation.

Please note: if you are an internal applicant, Pay Policy will apply.

The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales. From negotiating with and lobbying the profession's regulators, government and other decision makers, to offering training and advice, we're here to help, protect and promote solicitors.
