About You

You will be a highly organised, proactive and values-led programme professional with experience of coordinating and delivering complex programmes, partnerships or community-based work involving multiple organisations, communities and stakeholders.

You will be confident turning plans into practical action, coordinating people, workstreams, developing and delivering training, community leadership, networks and system-facing activity, and ensuring commitments are delivered and followed through.

As a key member of the Bhip team, you will work with the Programme Lead and closely with the HHU Programme Manager to ensure REN and HHU delivery is joined up and complementary, sharing learning, coordinating interdependent activity and working together to contribute to Bhip’s outcomes.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to take a hands-on role at the heart of Bhip, helping turn an ambitious five-year programme into practical activity across communities, organisations and systems in Bradford.

You will coordinate and deliver a diverse portfolio of REN-led work that will evolve, innovate and create meaningful change, from developing and delivering anti-racism and structural discrimination training, supporting community leaders and mobilising REN’s VCSE network, to strengthening the Health Policy Forum and supporting wider influencing activity.

Working alongside the Programme Lead and wider Bhip team, you will help support and build a genuinely joined-up programme, with scope to shape new approaches and contribute learning that helps change how health and care services, organisations and systems respond to structural racism, discrimination and health inequity, locally and nationally.

Purpose of Job
 
The Financial Reporting Manager acts as the principal link between ODI Global’s project-finance and corporate-finance functions. The role ensures that project budgets, Programme Analysis Budgets (PABs), donor income, billing, restricted and unrestricted funds, cash-flow information and project expenditure are accurately reflected in, and reconciled to, the general ledger. The postholder critically reviews financial and project information, investigates inconsistencies between project, budget and accounting data, and ensures corrective action is completed. They provide reliable analysis to support the Head of Finance, Chief Finance Officer, Senior Leadership and Board.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Financial Reporting Manager will work closely with the Head of Finance, Chief Finance Officer, finance colleagues, Portfolio Finance Managers, and project teams to deliver accurate, timely and decision-useful reporting across ODI Global.

1.     Financial Reporting Leadership  

• Support the timely preparation and critically review the monthly management accounts, ensuring that project, grant and fund information is complete, accurate and properly reflected in the general ledger.
• Lead the consolidation process for group entities and ensure the reporting of the Entities financials are accurate.  
• Provide the Head of Finance and Chief Finance Officer with clear variance analysis, financial insight and performance commentary for management and Board reporting.
• Improve the usefulness, consistency and clarity of project, grant and organisational financial reporting.
• Coordinate and maintain an accurate and current full-year forecast, supported by documented assumptions and input from finance, programme and project colleagues.
• Analyse organizational and project cash flow, highlighting funding gaps, timing risks and actions required. 
• Develop a framework for monitoring project compliance with both donor and charity requirements.

2. Financial Controls & Governance

• Maintain and improve proportionate preventive and detective controls across project-finance and corporate -finance processes, and escalate material control failures.
• Support the review and improvement of financial controls, risk assessments, delegated authorities and related procedures, ensuring they operate effectively in practice.
• Support the implementation and ongoing operation of the agreed process for deducting margin from projects at source, including reconciliations, guidance and communication with stakeholders. 
• Identify and support targeted improvements to end-to-end finance and programme processes where these will improve accuracy, consistency or efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations regarding charitable operations.
• Work with finance and programme colleagues to ensure that Programme Analysis Budgets (PABs) are accurate, current and reconciled to the general ledger each month.
• Ownership of the use of the Purchase Ordering system
• Ensure relevant payroll and staff-cost information is accurately reflected in project and programme reporting and reconciled to the general ledger
• Prepare, post and reconcile monthly project journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments

3. Audit & Compliance Management

• Maintain audit-ready financial documentation and support internal and external audits relating to financial reporting, projects, grants and controls.
• Monitor the resolution of reporting, reconciliation and control findings, and escalate material or overdue actions to the Head of Finance.

4. Team Development across Finance

• Provide practical guidance to finance and programme colleagues on project reporting, reconciliations, billing, fund accounting and financial controls.
• Promote accountability, transparency and effective collaboration between project, programme and finance teams.

5. Systems, Data & Process Optimisation

• Use finance systems and reporting tools effectively and support targeted technology improvements that strengthen reporting accuracy and controls.
• Ensure that financial and programme data are complete and accurate, and that PAB-to-general-ledger reconciliations are completed, reviewed and resolved each month.
• Contribute to the standardisation and appropriate automation of priority finance processes, with clear ownership and controls.
• Identify recurring data-quality issues, investigate their root causes and implement preventive action to improve future reporting.

Key Skills & Experience

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
• Good analytical and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, with the confidence to explain financial information clearly and constructively challenge finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Practical knowledge of applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing reporting deadlines and maintain close attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and improving operational financial controls—not solely reviewing or auditing them.
• Experience contributing to finance-system and process improvements that produced measurable gains in accuracy, timeliness or efficiency.

Success Measures

• Monthly management accounts, forecasts and cash-flow reporting are timely, accurate, supported by reconciliations and accompanied by useful commentary.
• Project and PAB balances are reconciled to the general ledger each month, with discrepancies investigated and resolved promptly.
• Management and Board reporting clearly explain financial performance, material variances, cash-flow risks and required corrective action.

Ataxia UK Research Manager

This is a part-time 12 month fixed term maternity cover post 

Salary: £44,000 pa pro-rata 

Conditions: 25 days annual leave pa pro-rata (not including Bank Holidays)

About Ataxia UK 

Ataxia is the umbrella term for a group of neurological conditions and Ataxia UK is the UK’s leading ataxia support and research charity. Ataxia UK collaborates with the global ataxia community through our Research team,  and we are on the board of the international non-profit association, Euro-ataxia. Our Services team focuses on helping people affected by ataxia across the UK live well with their condition. Our Helpline and Advocacy services provide information, and one-to-one support on a range of issues, while our Community Engagement services deliver activities, events and volunteering opportunities that bring the ataxia community together and help reduce isolation. 

Job Description 

Research:  

The post-holder is expected to gain an understanding of the ataxias, keep updated with developments in the ataxia research area, and liaise effectively with researchers and other stakeholders. 

Research Grants Programme:

• To support the Director of Research in implementing Ataxia UK’s research strategy 

• To manage the Research Communications Officer in implementing the peer review process (e.g. by identifying/ liaising with peer reviewers and keeping a database of potential peer reviewers) 

• To support the Scientific Advisory Committee by attending meetings, and manage the Research Communications Officer providing papers and writing minutes 

• To liaise with researchers funded by Ataxia UK

Global collaborations: 

• To represent Ataxia UK or stand in for the Director of Research on research projects (eg: representing the patient perspective) 

• To manage the meetings of the Pharma Strategy Advisory Group 

• To support the Director of Research in working with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to advance ataxia research 

• To assist the Director of Research in other research related-initiatives where required 

Research communication: 

• To manage the Research Communications officer in communications to people affected by ataxia (via Ataxia UK’s magazine, e-newsletter and website) 

• To represent Ataxia UK at ataxia meetings/conferences, write reports and do oral presentations 

• To assist in the organisation of Ataxia UK’s Research conferences 

• To make presentations to communicate research advances to people with ataxia and their families at Ataxia UK’s conferences

Support for people with ataxia:

Improving healthcare:

• To coordinate annual reviews of current Ataxia Centres, and accreditation reviews of new Ataxia Centres

Overview
As Director of Fundraising and Development for Plum Village UK, you will provide strategic leadership of the charity’s fundraising at this critical juncture. Building on the successful campaigns that brought our new Being Peace Practice Centre into being, you will lead the development of a sustainable, diversified fundraising operation across donor stewardship, trusts and foundations, regular giving, legacies, and partnerships, to deepen relationships of trust and gratitude with our supporters.

This role is ideal for a fundraising leader, whether from a career fundraising background or another field, who brings strategic capability alongside deep alignment with the Plum Village tradition, where fundraising itself becomes a form of engaged practice in service of mindfulness and community transformation.

Fundraising in the Plum Village tradition is fundamentally relational. It is not a matter of extracting income from a base of supporters, but of deepening the relationships of trust, gratitude and shared purpose with those who make our work possible, in ways that embody the values of the tradition. Done well, fundraising is itself a form of engaged practice. The Director will be expected to lead the function in this spirit.

The role comes with a high level of strategic ownership. An initial fundraising strategy has been developed and shared with trustees, providing a framework of priority channels, governance arrangements and resourcing for the next phase. The new Director will inherit this as a starting frame, and will then be empowered and expected to develop, refine and bring forward a fundraising strategy on their own authority, working closely with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising and presenting proposals to the board as appropriate. The role also carries operational ownership of the fundraising mechanics, including the choice and management of supporting systems, databases and tools.
 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic leadership of fundraising

• Lead PVUK's fundraising strategy, developing and refining the strategic direction, and presenting proposals to the Board for approval and resourcing.

• Set, monitor, and report on fundraising targets across all income channels, in agreement with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising and the Board.

• Provide regular substantive updates on fundraising at quarterly board meetings, working with the Lead Trustee on the preparation of board-level reporting.

• Bring forward analysis and proposals to support the Board in setting wider strategic priorities, including realistic income potential by channel and the investment required to secure it.

• Identify and manage risk in the fundraising portfolio, including channel concentration, donor over-reliance, and the sustainability of resourcing.

Donor stewardship and relationship development

• Lead the stewardship of PVUK’s existing donors, lenders, and supporters with the depth of care that this base deserves, recognising it as the most precious resource of the fundraising function.

• Cultivate and deepen relationships with major donors, including through personal contact, site visits, and tailored communication of impact.

• Work with the Chair of Trustees, the Centre Director, and other senior figures on key relationships that require their involvement.

• Steward the friendly lender base throughout the lifetime of their loans, maintaining trust and keeping them informed of the charity’s progress.

• Build and maintain a culture of gratitude and recognition that appropriately honours the contributions of all supporters.

Income channel development

• Lead delivery and growth across PVUK’s priority fundraising channels: donor stewardship, trust and foundation fundraising, regular giving, legacies and Gifts in Wills, and partnerships with values-aligned organisations and networks.

• Develop trust and foundation fundraising as a substantial new income stream, including scoping aligned funders, building peer-to-peer introductions, constructing tailored funding propositions, and overseeing high-quality application writing and reporting.

• Design and grow a regular giving programme that converts members, retreatants and supporters into ongoing monthly donors.

• Develop a structured legacy and Gifts in Wills programme that normalises legacy giving across PVUK’s communications and supports those who wish to leave a Gift in their Will.

• Develop partnerships with values-aligned organisations and networks where these support both income generation and the wider reach of PVUK’s work, in close consultation with monastics and trustees.

Operations, systems and budget ownership

• Own the operational mechanics of fundraising for PVUK, including the choice, configuration and ongoing management of databases, donor management systems, online giving platforms, and integration with communications tools.

• Manage the fundraising budget, including a discretionary supplementary budget for consultancy, training, materials creation, contracted support and light administrative resource, deployed at the Director’s judgement to develop the function effectively.

• Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant supporter records and ensure sound data practices throughout the fundraising operation.

• Provide accurate financial reporting on fundraising performance, working with PVUK’s finance function and external accountants as required.

• Make the case for additional resourcing where evidence of need supports it, including the possible recruitment of a Fundraising Officer in due course.

Communications and storytelling

• Lead the development of compelling fundraising narratives that authentically convey the work of PVUK and the Being Peace Centre to multiple audiences, including major donors, institutional funders, individual supporters and the wider public.

• Work closely with the PVUK Communications team on the integration of fundraising communications with the wider communications strategy.

• Commission and oversee the production of fundraising materials, including written content, graphic design, video and digital assets, drawing on contracted specialists where appropriate.

• Ensure that all fundraising messaging about the Being Peace Practice Centre is agreed with the Centre Director before publication.

Working partnerships across PVUK

• Work in close partnership with the Centre Director on all matters relating to Being Peace, with agreed ways of working on messaging, external representation, and any programming commitments made to funders.

• Work with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising as primary day-to-day point of contact at board level, supporting the Lead Trustee to hold strategic oversight of fundraising on behalf of the Board.

• Work with colleagues across PVUK’s communications, dharma programming, sangha-building and partnership functions, with these working relationships developing naturally in the first months of the role.

• Draw on external advisors and specialists as needed for support and assurance, both in technical fundraising disciplines and in sector-specific knowledge.

• Engage volunteer capacity from within the community where this can valuably supplement the fundraising operation.

Community Volunteers Enabling You (COVEY) has been a lifeline for children, young people and families across Lanarkshire since 1992. We provide one-to-one and group-based befriending, mentoring and family support services tailored to those who need it most. Our mission is to help children, young people and families become more resilient, safe and better equipped to reach their full potential.

As Fundraising Manager, you will lead the development of community fundraising, corporate fundraising and fundraising events (either held by us or undertaken by members of the public such as the Kiltwalk), helping COVEY grow sustainable unrestricted income and build long-term relationships with supporters.

This is a brand new role with real scope to build on COVEY’s trusted place in the local community, developing new fundraising opportunities and partnerships, as well as building on our existing relationships with volunteers, staff, trustees, supporters, funders, schools, employers, community partners and local networks.

You will also help shape fundraising activity linked to COVEY’s 35th anniversary in 2027, using this milestone to celebrate the children, young people and families we have supported over this time (and the volunteers and staff that made it happen), in turn raising our profile and build long-term supporter relationships beyond the anniversary year.

• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage fundraising activity, events, budgets, supporter communications and CRM records

• Job title: Fundraising Partnerships Manager

• Location: Hackney Bridge, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London (a canalside public destination less than five minutes from Hackney Wick station)

We’re a small charity but we pack a mighty punch. Since programme launch, we have worked with over 250 people in our Academies.

• Took diverse groups of young people to races and events, such as Hackney School Run and Black to the Trails. 

• Offered personalised mentoring to several of our young people who were struggling with school or life.

• Expanded the career horizons of young people by offering them free work experience opportunities with our partner brands.

We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Partnerships Manager to help drive the next stage of growth at The Outrunners (current annual income circa £350k). This growth will enable us to expand our after-school and holiday programmes reaching more young people where they are, building their confidence and skills.

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead our brand and corporate partnerships fundraising strategy and delivery, securing and growing relationships with values-aligned brands and businesses who share our belief in the power of movement to transform young lives.

This is a strategic and hands-on role. You will identify new partnership opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and build long-term relationships that generate income, opportunities and experiences for the young people we support.

You will translate the lived experiences, energy and impact of our young people and programmes into compelling partnership opportunities that generate income, engagement and meaningful experiences for both our young people and partners.

1. New partnerships & business development

• Build and manage a pipeline of prospective partners, monitoring performance against agreed partnership and income targets.

4. Impact, Systems & Reporting

• Maintain accurate partnership records, reporting and pipeline management through CRM systems.

• Gather stories, outcomes and impact data to support partner communications and reporting.

• Produce partnership materials, presentations and case studies.

• Produce partnership performance reports.

• Stay informed about partnership, sponsorship and CSR trends to identify new opportunities for The Outrunners.

The Opportunity

You will work directly with people and communities to explore their experiences of clinical and community-based health and care, including where racism, discrimination and structural barriers affect access, experience and outcomes. Using co-design, participatory research, deep listening, storytelling and creative approaches, you will explore what matters, what gets in the way and what communities tell us needs to change.

A key part of the role will be developing culturally grounded and accessible ways of working, recognising that conventional consultation and research methods do not work equally well for everyone. You will have the freedom to test and develop different approaches with communities, including creative, visual, narrative and participatory methods, and share what we learn locally and through Bhip’s wider national lottery collective network.

You will lead the development of Bhip’s co-design methodology while remaining a hands-on practitioner. Working closely with the HHU Programme Manager, Bhip Programme Lead, Insight & Evaluation Lead and Community Engagement Facilitators, you will help connect community participation, research and lived experience to Bhip’s Story-to-System approach, ensuring that what communities tell us can contribute to practical learning, action and change.

You will also help build the confidence and capacity of the wider Bhip team to work in genuinely co-designed ways and, where people want to become more involved, support community members and lived-experience leaders to develop as co-designers, peer/community researchers or Story Stewards.

The role will evolve as Bhip develops. We do not expect every method or area of work to be predetermined.
