The role

- Represent Alexander Devine locally and nationally, contributing to the wider development of children's palliative care.
- Champion the voice of children, young people and their families, ensuring their experience informs the ongoing development of our services.
About you
We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader who combines strategic vision with strong operational management and a genuine passion for children's palliative care.
You will be a registered nurse with significant experience in paediatric palliative care and senior-level leadership experience. You will have a strong understanding of clinical governance, CQC requirements, PSIRF and safeguarding, together with experience of leading service development and change.
You will bring:
- NMC registration as a Children's or Adult Nurse.
- Significant experience of palliative paediatric nursing.
- Senior-level experience of management, strategic thinking and service development.
- Experience of CQC compliance, clinical governance, PSIRF and safeguarding.
- Strong financial and budgetary understanding.

- Attend community events, and networking sessions to raise awareness of the service
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of participant progress, outcomes, and referrals.
- Collect and input data to support internal and external reporting.
- Provide case studies and feedback to the Contract Manager for inclusion in funder reports.
Team Support & Supervision
- Coordiante and mentor the team and volunteers in their daily work.
- Hold staff supervision for reflection opportunities on work and wellbeing.
- Encourage teamwork, reflective practice, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute and lead staff meetings, training sessions, and service development discussions.
- Model WCT’s values and champion best practice in all areas of delivery.
- Coordinate staff HR platform with staff data and maintain records of sickness and holiday – discuss with staff in team meetings
- Take part in staff annual appraisal and development
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are reported and acted upon in line with WCT policy.

About Degrees
The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM) geoengineering, a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.
Role
The Events Officer will coordinate and support the planning and delivery of Degrees’ international events, including workshops bringing together Degrees-funded researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders, and the biennial Degrees Global Forum. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the Events Officer will help ensure high-quality events that strengthen collaboration, showcase research outcomes, facilitate engagement with policymakers and advance Degrees’ mission to build capacity in the Global South to engage equitably in SRM deliberations.
The Events Officer will also provide general administrative support to the Policy Engagement team.
This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who enjoys coordinating complex logistics, managing multiple priorities, improving processes and ensuring that events run smoothly.
Key responsibilities
The Events Officer works under the supervision of the Events & Projects Manager, while supporting the Policy Engagement team in cooperation with the Policy Engagement Director. Responsibilities will include:
Events
- Arrange travel, lodging and other travel logistics for, funded scientists, policymakers, and other external participants;
- Maintain event budgets and expenditure records, working with the Events & Projects Manager and Operations and Finance team to monitor expenditure against budget;
- Arrange meeting facilities;
- Facilitate requests for visas and other travel authorisations;
- Serve as a point of contact for external event participants’ queries about travel and events;
- Assist Degrees staff with travel questions;
- Ensure proper distribution of participant documents in a timely manner;
- Maintain accurate event plans, timelines, trackers, action logs and participant records, and proactively follow up outstanding actions;

Qualifications
Essential
- At least two years’ relevant experience in administration, project coordination, events, or a similar role;

- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and work effectively under pressure;

The Deputy Fitness Centre Manager is a role that is largely based on site (80:20 split) and the post holder will work a minimum of 14 hours per week at front of house, leading delivery. About the role:
A safe, well maintained room can be the foundation someone needs to begin rebuilding their life. As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll make sure our supported accommodation across London provides the safe, dignified and welcoming environment every client deserves.
This is a hands on, multi skilled maintenance role focused on minor repairs and property improvements rather than specialist or technically qualified trade work. Travelling between different services across London, you’ll complete jobs such as painting and decorating, repairing walls and fixtures, basic carpentry, minor plumbing, tiling and preparing empty rooms so they can be offered safely and quickly to someone who needs a home.
You’ll plan and manage a varied workload, respond to urgent health and safety concerns and identify problems before they become more serious. You’ll also inspect rooms and communal areas, record completed work clearly, arrange materials and flag any repairs that need to be passed to a qualified contractor. At times, you may check completed contractor work and provide feedback where standards have not been met.
Our accommodation is home to people who have experienced homelessness, mental ill health and other forms of multiple disadvantage. Some services are larger, hostel-style buildings, while others are smaller residential properties. You’ll often be working in occupied environments and may meet clients while completing repairs, so you’ll need to be comfortable working respectfully around people who may be distressed or experiencing a difficult time. You won’t be expected to provide support or manage challenging situations alone, and service colleagues will be available to help.
You’ll join a growing Maintenance Team that shares knowledge, works collaboratively and takes pride in getting the details right. We are looking for a Health & Safety Education Compliance Lead to make sure the College meets all its legal, statutory and regulatory obligations across our educational and residential provision. Working closely with our Senior Leadership Team, managers, governors and external agencies, you will champion a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement - spanning health and safety, safeguarding, policy management, risk and inspection readiness.
Your day to day duties will include
- Acting as the College's operational lead for health and safety - inspections, audits, risk assessments, accident and incident investigation (including RIDDOR) and statutory testing.
- Managing a rolling programme of policy reviews, keeping every policy compliant, current and communicated to staff, parents and students.
- Identifying, monitoring and reporting on compliance risks across the College (Single Central Record, GDPR, health and safety, safeguarding), advising SLT and reporting to Governors.
- Supporting safeguarding, including confidential records of low-level concerns and arrangements for visitors and hirers.
- Preparing for and supporting education and residential inspections, including self-evaluation and improvement planning.
To be successful in this role you will need
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience in a compliance role, ideally within education or another regulated sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK educational regulations, safeguarding, data protection (GDPR) and health and safety legislation.
- Experience of conducting audits and risk assessments against statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisation, and confident communication with staff, SLT and governors.
- A relevant compliance or legal qualification (e.g. ILM Diploma in Compliance) and familiarity with Ofsted inspections (desirable).

The Finance and Operations Officer is responsible for day-to-day financial processing, HR administration and operational coordination. The role ensures accurate financial records, smooth administrative processes and effective support for staff across the Society. The postholder works closely with the Finance Manager to maintain strong financial controls, support compliance, and contribute to the efficient running of the organisation.
The Finance and Operations Officer liaises with all areas of the Society and helps provide reports and documentation to the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and Council. They are line managed by the Finance Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Financial Processing
- Process purchase invoices, staff expenses, credit card transactions and supplier payments.
- Manage Society credit cards and bank accounts under the oversight of the Finance Manager.
- Deposit payments (sterling and dollars) and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare payment runs and upload payment files in line with dual authorisation procedures.
