Main purpose of post
This is an important role in the fundraising team which is responsible for identifying, developing, and converting opportunities to generate income to achieve Weston Park Cancer Charity’s strategy. This role will support the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to secure income generation through corporate organisations. It carries an income target aligned to the grade of the post holder, within an overall corporate income target of over £400,000 per annum.
You will be expected to understand Weston Park Cancer Charity’s unique offer, the needs and priorities of our corporate partners and be capable of taking our propositions and clearly shaping them to create mutual value for the communities we support and our partners.
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for an income target of which aligns with the grade of the post, contributing to an overall corporate income target of over £4000k pa.
· Delivers income growth through gifts from corporates, workplace fundraising and public facing corporate donations.
· Support the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive corporate partnership strategy which is data driven and demonstrates strong ROI.
· Develop and deliver concepts and ideas, from early discussion through to detailed proposals, working with colleagues across the charity.
· Contribute to maximising sponsorship of our key programmes such as Big Purple Bus and Grant-Giving for cancer research and other initiatives.
· Write detailed, accurate and compelling bids and proposals that clearly articulate how Weston Park Cancer Charity are the preferred choice to meet the partner and project objectives for Charity of the Year or long-term strategic partnerships.
· Work with our events team to promote opportunities for corporate partners to support the annual events programme e.g. tables at events , team challenge events
· Succinctly communicate the impact of our work, ensuring it inspires and clearly matches the requirements of potential corporate partners and major donors.
· Be a key interface for external corporate enquiries and act as an external ambassador, undertaking significant networking across the region and representing the charity at key meetings and events.
· Be responsible for the management of an agreed number of accounts, providing excellent relationship management.
· Ensure that the resource and capability exist to deliver partner/funder requirements and proactively identify and seek to fill any gaps.
· Ensure we collect detailed and continuous feedback so that we learn from experience and effectively evaluate both successful and unsuccessful funding proposals and initiatives.
· Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline that is realistically capable of meeting agreed income targets and reflects both the strategic priorities of Weston Park Cancer Chairty and the external funding priorities of our corporate partners
· Maximise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunities, work place fundraising and volunteering, and Gifts in Kind.

About MediCinema
MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.
The Role
We are looking for a fixed-term maternity-cover Deputy Cinema Manager to join the team at our established MediCinema based in Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, serving paediatric patients in the Royal Hospital for Children, and adult patients from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The post-holder will work with the Cinema Manager and the team of nurses and volunteers who support our MediCinema, and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.
We run 4 regular inpatient screenings each week which includes evenings. The post holder will be required to work on a shift pattern to include evenings each week and potentially weekends. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these regular inpatient screenings.
The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Support the Cinema Manager in delivering a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings so the role requires regular evening working.
- On screening days be responsible for:
- Marketing the service through the hospital’s wards, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
- Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
- Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are always screened to the highest technical standards. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
- Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly and that, where appropriate, consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
- Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
- Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
- Help the Cinema Manager collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
- Assist with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
- When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with hospital departments and patient groups.
- Support the development and roll out of any new type of screenings we embark on.
- Support the delivery of our ‘Beyond the Big Screen' bedside services, including our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.
Nurse & Volunteer Management
- Help the Cinema Manager build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include assisting with recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
Marketing and Relationship Management
- Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, building relationships with key hospital staff, and working alongside our partner Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity who kindly support our paediatric screenings.
- Help develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community.
- Representing the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
- Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include fundraising events, live performance and other relevant activities.
Administration and other duties
- Deputise for the Cinema Manager as and when required.
- Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
- Help manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
- Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Glasgow MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
- Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach

The Person

Job Purpose:
Manage the on-site delivery of MSF UK’s Face-to-Face (F2F) fundraising activity across Festivals and Events, ensuring high-performing, safe and professional fundraising operations that maximise income and public engagement.

About the role

This is a critical, income-generating role responsible for growing Perennial’s Individual Giving programme and increasing unrestricted income, with a primary focus on supporter acquisition and on supporter development and retention.

The Role
The Deputy Events Manager will support the Events Manager in the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of Schools North East’s annual events programme. The role will take responsibility for allocated events and projects, ensuring that each one is delivered to a high standard, on time, within agreed budgets and in line with the charity’s strategic priorities.
This is a key operational role within the Events team. You will work across conferences, online events, webinars, roundtables, training sessions, stakeholder events and other activities that bring together school leaders, business professionals, policymakers, commercial partners and wider education stakeholders. You will help ensure that delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors experience Schools North East events as professional, purposeful and valuable.

Person Specification
Essential
Event Delivery:
At least 3 years’ experience in event planning and delivery, including responsibility for coordinating events from planning through to evaluation
Operational Organisation:
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines, tasks and priorities at pace
Problem Solving:
Able to remain calm under pressure, solve practical problems quickly and respond effectively to unexpected issues during event planning and live delivery
Communication and Customer Service:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide professional, responsive and high-quality customer service to delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, suppliers and colleagues
Stakeholder Relationships:
Confident in building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of people, including venues, suppliers, school leaders, speakers, sponsors and partners
Income and Commercial Awareness:
Experience supporting income-generating events, including delegate bookings, sponsorship, exhibitors, ticket sales or commercial partnerships
Supplier and Venue Coordination:
Experience liaising with venues, AV providers, event suppliers and contractors to support high quality and cost-effective delivery
Budget Awareness:
Able to monitor event-level budgets, track income and expenditure, and maintain accurate records to support financial reporting
Technical Skills:
Confident using event systems, CRM or database platforms, virtual event software, G Suite or similar tools, and basic AV equipment
Collaborative Working:
A proactive, can-do approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a small, busy team

Highly motivated, target-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes that support education in the North East
Sector Interest:
