Who We Are
Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.
Animal Equality releases investigative materials from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. We publish our findings on television, in newspapers and online. We routinely secure mainstream media coverage, including on the BBC, ITV, Sky News, The Times, The Guardian, The New York Times and many more.
Animal Equality also advocates for political change. Our current campaigns include a UK ban on foie gras imports, increased enforcement of existing animal protection laws, legal protections for farmed fish, and Government subsidies for transitioning towards a plant-based food system.
We focus on farmed animals because of the scale and severity of the issue. More than a billion animals are confined and killed for human consumption every year in the UK. Farmed animals also often suffer in some of the worst ways: pigs typically endure painful mutilations; many chickens die of heart attacks; fish are confined in underwater cages, and some farmed animals are victims of deliberate abuse and neglect. But the problem is solvable! By utilising effective campaigning strategies, Animal Equality is having an impact for animals around the world and building a future where all animals are respected and protected and are no longer exploited for human consumption.
Animal Equality UK’s current key campaigns include:
- Strengthening enforcement of animal protection laws
- Halting the expansion of Scotland’s salmon farming industry
- Achieving a ban on foie gras imports
- Securing species-specific slaughter legislation for fish
- Inspiring the public to eat plants, not animals
About the Role
Animal Equality’s campaigns have driven Parliamentary debates, legal victories, corporate commitments, and major media coverage and inspired thousands of people to change their diets and take action for farmed animals.
We are seeking a dynamic, disciplined, and highly motivated Campaigns Officer to play a central role in growing our activist movement and delivering bold, high-impact campaigns across the UK and internationally.
This role is fundamentally about building people power. You will be responsible for significantly expanding our activist base – both online and in person – mobilising supporters into sustained action and organising impactful demonstrations that influence companies, governments, and public opinion.
The Campaigns Officer will regularly travel across the UK and internationally to organise and lead peaceful demonstrations, ensuring Animal Equality remains a visible, strategic, and compelling presence at key decision-making moments. You will be expected to travel frequently across Europe, sometimes at short notice; reasonable travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the organisation, as well as a daily stipend for plant-based subsistence. While not common, occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support campaigning activities. Any additional hours worked and agreed with your Manager can be reclaimed as TOIL.
Working closely with colleagues across departments and countries, you will help transform public support into coordinated action that drives measurable change for farmed animals trapped in the animal agriculture system.
Location: Remote in the UK. Must be able to travel to London team meet-ups once a month (at your own cost) and travel frequently across Europe.
For further information and to apply, please visit our website via the Apply button.
Closing date: 5pm on Friday, 18th September 2026.

Important information
We have increased the diversity of Frontline’s workforce in the last 12 months, but we need to do more to have greater global majority representation in our senior roles. We know the value global majority voices bring and therefore, we are strongly encouraging applicants from these backgrounds to apply. We are also a disability confident employer and welcome applicants with disabilities.
We recognise that artificial intelligence (AI) such as 'ChatGPT' etc can be useful for applicants e.g. to shorten an initial draft, so we do not attempt to have an absolute ban on AI in applications. However we would caution applicants not to rely too much on AI in drafting answers to application questions. We want to hear your authentic voice arising out of your experience, and we will be looking for answers that use examples and experiences that are specific to you. You are more likely to be able to produce that kind of content yourself than an AI will.
We reserve the right to close this role ahead of the deadline once we reach a suitable number of applications, so please apply as soon as you can!

About Alexandra Rose Charity
We should all be able to eat healthy food. But right now, healthy options cost more than twice as much as junk food. It’s getting harder and harder for people to put good food on the table. In fact, the poorest fifth of UK households would need to spend 50% of their disposable income to eat the UK Government’s recommended healthy diet. Access to a choice of high quality, culturally appropriate fruit & veg is an essential building block for our mental and physical health. We need to put this right.
We’re on a mission to give people access to their choice of fresh fruit & veg, in the heart of their community. At Alexandra Rose, we are proud to deliver a mix of practical, place-based projects and national advocacy to shape a fairer future, where everyone can afford and enjoy fresh fruit & veg with dignity.
If this aligns with how you see the world, and you want to use your skills and experience to help us build towards it, you’ll feel at home here.
