We are offering a rewarding opportunity within Crawley and Mid Sussex team, with a focus on Mid Sussex, to provide a range of services which aim to make a difference to family and friend carers. You will be expected to work across all localities as required.
Carer Wellbeing Workers provide invaluable services to help improve carers’ resilience and ensure they are supported to maintain their caring roles. They provide tailored information and advice, practical, emotional and planning support, peer opportunities, contingency planning, active listening and through partnership working are pro-active in the identification of carers.
Using experience of working with adults and families, a working knowledge and / or lived experience of social care and health, the postholder will use excellent communication and interpersonal skills to offer carers one-to-one and group support either face to face, via the telephone or using virtual video mediums such as Zoom or MS Teams.
The role is a mix of remote / homeworking and community venues. You will be expected to be readily able to travel across Crawley and Mid Sussex to deliver carer support and on occasion to venues across the County to attend meetings and training as required.

Key Responsibilities
Carer Support: Provide a blend of in-person, online, telephone, 1-to-1, and group support to carers in Crawley and Mid Sussex. Proactively reach carers from under-represented and diverse communities, ensuring the service is accessible to all.
Information & Guidance: Offer tailored, personalised information, guidance, emotional, and practical support to carers, helping them navigate local services and make informed decisions. Use the Carers Star™ framework to support carers in creating personal plans and achieving positive change.
Empower: Enable carers to communicate issues important to them, set their own priorities, and articulate their needs and wishes. Work in co-production with carers to ensure services are person-centred, engaging, and make a real difference.
Community Presence: Work as part of the team to maintain a presence in the community, delivering support through various channels and formats.
Partnerships: Collaborate with health, social care, and voluntary sector partners, seeking opportunities to enhance support for carers. Refer and signpost carers for targeted and specialist support, develop local relationships, and attend partnership meetings as required.
Carer Identification: Promote carers as expert partners in care. Promote the service and the importance of identifying and supporting carers and deliver “Think Carer” sessions.
Involvement: Proactively identify opportunities to involve carers and volunteers in service design and delivery. Provide mentoring and support to volunteers within the team.
Data Recording: Accurately record all interventions on the Client Record Management System to enable timely and informative reports, ensuring decisions are evidenced and all actions recorded.
Demonstrate Impact: Showcase the difference the service makes in carers’ lives through Carers Star™ reviews, surveys, case studies, and feedback.

About the role
We are looking for someone to lead an exciting project commissioned by Central North West London (CNWL) to improve health outcomes for people with autism in Brent.
The Autism Care Navigator project will improve access to pre and post diagnostic support for Brent residents on the Adult Autism Assessment waiting list. The Project will work closely with the Brent LD community team, other healthcare providers including primary care, and Brent residents.
The post holder will offer care navigation support to individuals, helping people to access health and social care services and improving understanding of what services are available. They will collect people’s stories and experiences, run consultations and focus groups and feed into wider consultation, working to address system issues. The role will also involve sitting on relevant strategic boards and groups to make sure that experiences and challenges of people with autism in Brent are included in decision making.
Using your experience of working with autistic people, you may also support other staff and services to improve how they work with and support autistic people.

About the role
Reporting directly to the Sanctuary Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our accommodation pathways, ensuring the best possible outcomes for destitute migrants and newly granted refugees.
This is a dynamic, frontline casework role that spans three core areas of our housing provision:

You will have a strong working knowledge of the housing system, the UK welfare system (including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit), and how to support people to access their entitlements. Because this role requires managing complex casework and navigating cultural nuances, you must possess strong interpersonal skills, particularly when working with vulnerable people or those with English as a second language.

About the role
Imperial College Union is seeking a Building Co-ordinator to play a central role in the day-to-day operation of the Beit Building, one of the Union’s most active and diverse spaces. This is a hands‑on operational role that sits at the heart of student life, ensuring that the building is safe, welcoming and ready to support a wide range of student, staff and commercial activity.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial Services, Duty Managers and a wide network of internal and external stakeholders, the Building Co-ordinator will ensure that building activity runs smoothly from first enquiry through to delivery. This role also leads the Welcome Desk function, providing a consistently high standard of service and information to all building users.
The post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working a 35-hour week across any five days out of seven, including some evenings and weekends in line with operational needs.
What you would be doing
You will coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Beit Building, ensuring all spaces are safe, well presented and available to support student, staff and commercial activity. As the first point of contact through the Welcome Desk, you will provide clear information and high‑quality customer service, while maintaining oversight of access systems, key control and building security. You will carry out regular building checks and ensure that any issues are promptly reported and followed up.
You will manage and coordinate bookings across the building, using the digital room booking system to ensure effective use of space. This will involve liaising with internal and external clients to confirm booking details, coordinating room set‑ups and pack‑downs, and supporting Duty Managers with smooth event handovers when required.
You will lead and support the student Welcome Desk team, including recruitment, training and day‑to‑day coordination, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. You will also work closely with the Health, Safety and Facilities Manager and College Estates to support compliance, report maintenance issues and contribute to improvements in building operations and user guidance.

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual with experience coordinating building or operational services in a customer-focused environment. You will have experience supervising staff or volunteers and be confident managing multiple priorities in a busy setting.
You will bring a strong understanding of building operations, space management and health and safety expectations within a large, multi-use environment. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as the role works across a wide range of teams and stakeholders.
You will be comfortable using digital booking and reporting systems, have a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and be motivated by supporting a positive experience for students and visitors. Experience of working in a Students’ Union or higher education environment, or familiarity with room booking systems, would be an advantage.

You will:

- Political engagement: Developing and providing regular written or oral briefings to MPs, Peers, government officials, and other decision makers on key policies and campaigns. Producing specific asks to parliamentarians on a regular basis – parliamentary questions, debate contributions etc.
- Communications: Provide market and audience expertise to communications team to craft public advocacy in the UK. Support team in developing communications strategy and develop materials for advocacy targets, including digital/social content and take actions.
- Teamwork: Support a positive team culture by acting openly and collaboratively, supporting colleagues in their work and sharing credit with others where appropriate.

Job Requirements:
Work experience:
- Experience in delivering advocacy strategies in the UK. 2 years + of experience working on development and humanitarian issues.
Demonstrated skills and competencies:
- Proven success in delivering successful strategies that influence/impact on legislative and executive policy.
- Good understanding of relevant the UK’s political structures and processes, and familiar with leverage points within these institutions that can be targeted to achieve policy change objectives.
- Ability to innovatively and creatively apply influencing techniques and tactics to consistently make IRC stand out from the crowd in Westminster, Whitehall and with other key international stakeholders.
- Knowledge of development and humanitarian issues in the UK.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with parliamentarians and colleagues in the humanitarian and development fields.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to translate sophisticated material and data into coherent narratives that resonate with policymakers.
- Experience of developing effective working relationships with colleagues, and working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Ability to work quickly against deadlines.
- Initiative and ability to work independently on fast-paced issues, and balance competing demands.
