We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support. Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model.
Our vision is to have “A society where NO male survivor is left behind”
We are looking for an Executive Assistant who can work closely with our CEO and help them make the best use of their time, relationships and influence.
At the heart of this role is our ambition that no male survivor is left behind. You will support the CEO to keep that ambition visible in their day-to-day work, helping them stay focused on the conversations and opportunities that can create meaningful change for male survivors.
This is more than an administrative role. You will help the CEO manage their priorities and prepare for important meetings. You will keep track of commitments, follow up on agreed actions, and ensure the right information is available when needed. There will be times when plans change quickly, so you will need to be comfortable using your judgement and adapting your approach.
You will also help We Are Survivors engage and influence at the local, regional, and national levels. This could involve supporting contact with commissioners or government departments, preparing briefings for meetings, coordinating events and helping the CEO maintain strong relationships across the sector. Your work will help ensure that the experiences of male survivors are heard in the places where decisions are made.
As someone working closely with the CEO, you will often be a first point of contact for people inside and outside the organisation. You will need to be approachable while understanding the importance of confidentiality. You should feel confident managing sensitive information and recognising when something needs the CEO’s immediate attention.
We are looking for someone who is organised and able to take initiative. You will share our commitment to male survivors and understand the difference that thoughtful executive support can make. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you should be curious about our work and motivated by the opportunity to help We Are Survivors extend its reach and impact.
Apply by sending your CV and a short supporting statement.
In your supporting statement, we want you to answer these two questions:
How can your experience support male survivors to thrive?
How do you meet the role profile? Ensure you answer ALL elements in your CV or supporting statement.
For informal queries, contact Jamie Legge, Operations Director.
By applying for any of the above roles, you confirm that you have read and agree to our Privacy Notice.

CARE International is a global humanitarian organisation leading the fight to end poverty in the world’s most challenging situations. Women and girls are at the centre of our work, because we cannot overcome poverty and inequality until all people have equal rights and opportunities. We’re recruiting a Data Compliance Officer! You’ll be joining our Data & Insights team and be our data compliance subject matter expert (SME) in support of the successful delivery of the Blue Cross Data Strategy. In this position you will help us continue cultivating a data-driven culture across our organisation, building a charity-wide community focused on data. This is a hybrid role and you must be able to work from our Burford office in Oxfordshire twice a week.
More about the role
We are looking for a Data Compliance Officer to join our Data & Insights team within Information Services, working in close collaboration with our Head of Legal and Data Protection (DPO). If you want to use your regulatory knowledge in a supportive, purpose-driven environment, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.
This role focuses on delivering clear, practical compliance guidance across the charity rather than taking a theoretical or box-ticking approach. You will act as the go to contact for advice on the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) code, PECR, and HMRC Gift Aid compliance, while supporting the DPO to maintain alignment with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. Your day to day work will range from assisting with Subject Access Requests and data incident responses to reviewing targeted communications, ensuring valid permission statements are in place, and auditing third-party supplier standards.
You will collaborate closely with marketing, fundraising, and digital project teams to understand their goals and help them design compliant, effective processes from the start. Working alongside colleagues in Information Services, you will help develop data quality KPIs, establish standard operating procedures, and identify areas for automation and process improvement. You will also have the opportunity to advise on emerging challenges, including the responsible and transparent use of data in Artificial Intelligence, and deliver straightforward training and guidance that helps colleagues handle data with confidence.
This is a hybrid role and you must be able to work from our Burford office in Oxfordshire twice a week.
About you
You have a solid foundation in data protection and direct marketing regulations, with a knack for translating complex legal rules into simple, practical advice that colleagues can readily apply. You take an analytical, considered approach to your work and feel comfortable balancing multiple projects, queries, and statutory deadlines without losing sight of detail.
Collaboration is key to how you work. Rather than simply highlighting obstacles, you enjoy working alongside different teams to find workable solutions that achieve their objectives while keeping the organisation fully compliant. You bring sound judgment, the confidence to escalate risks when necessary, and strong communication skills that allow you to build positive working relationships across all levels of the charity.
