About the role

We’re seeking a senior media and PR officer – policy, campaigns and public health to join our talented and ambitious media and PR team for six months. Supporting the delivery of annual media plans for these areas of work, you’ll leverage our position as leading experts on breast cancer to secure media profile that increases our influence, engagement and support among target audiences, championing the needs of people affected by breast cancer, engaging key policy decision-makers and the NHS through our change-making campaigns and calls to action, and communicating our vital breast health awareness and health information and messaging to key stakeholders and the public to help make change happen now.

This role is a fixed term contract until end of February 2027.
 
About you 

You’ll be great at building trusted and influential relationships across internal and external contacts up to a senior level including colleagues, journalists, contacts at stakeholder organisations (such as NHS and NICE), people affected by breast cancer who support our work, and celebrities and influencers who support Breast Cancer Now. 

With an understanding and passion for policy, campaigns, and public health you’ll draw on your experience of working across health communications and/or media/PR environments to digest and distil complex and sensitive information into compelling media copy, with an eye for spotting proactive and reactive media opportunities to secure impactful profile.

Used to working in a fast-moving environment, you’ll work at pace without compromising quality of work and working closely with the senior media and PR manager – policy, campaigns and public health to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines to amplify the charity’s share of voice as a determined leader, driving progress and changing the future for anyone affected by breast cancer.

Effective at working independently, you’ll also be a team player who works closely with and contributes to the wider success of the media and PR team.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Mercy Ships UK's legacy fundraising strategy.
• Grow legacy income and increase the number of confirmed legacy pledges.
• Manage a portfolio of legacy cases, acting as the key contact for solicitors, executors, beneficiaries and family members.
• Deliver engaging legacy marketing campaigns across online and offline channels.
• Develop meaningful stewardship journeys for legacy supporters and enquirers.
• Provide accurate forecasting, reporting and performance analysis.
• Ensure all legacy administration is managed sensitively, efficiently and in line with best practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with excellent relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for supporter care.

You will ideally have:

• Experience working within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• Experience managing legacy giving programmes and stewardship activities.
• Knowledge of legacy fundraising principles and best practice.
• Experience developing and delivering fundraising or legacy marketing campaigns.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy.
• Experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
• An analytical approach with experience of reporting and forecasting.

About the role

The engagement directorate is responsible for growing awareness, trust and engagement with Breast Cancer Now - so more people get support and give support. It leads the £47m we raise annually today and our ambition to grow this to £69m by 2029/30, alongside a new £60m Campaign.

Harris Hill is working with an education based organisation, supporting their search for an interim Events Manager, working remotely, 4 days per week, for 3- 6 months. 

The pro rota salary would be £36-40k, on the basis that you work 4dpw, but could spread the 4 across 5. You would however be responsible for attending the various events.

We are looking for a seasoned Events Manager, who is adept at the whole life cycle of events, with a emphasis on planning, and the marketing of the events themselves, so someone with both events and marketing experience is essential.

The team does have some events, admin, and communications support, but you would need to steer the a little, be very hands on, and flexible to the needs of the role.

Specifically, the role of the Events Manager involves:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and working closely with the staff team, to develop and deliver ALT’s programme of events.

Organising the logistics for in-person and online events and conferences, managing associated budgets and revenue generation, and negotiating with exhibitors and sponsors.

Leading on events-related stakeholder management, including working in partnership with volunteers to create conference programmes and managing event-related collaborations with partner organisations, nationally, and internationally.  This also includes leading on logistics for the Annual Awards.

Leading on events marketing and communications and social media, including promoting opportunities for members and partners across sectors.

Overseeing delegate and exhibitor liaison and carrying out event evaluations, including acting as the person responsible for feedback and complaints.

Evaluating and reporting on events to committees including the Board of Trustees.

Business and project management

Devise and manage project plans, risk registers and budgets for events and associated areas of operations.

Negotiate with potential and selected suppliers of products and services to secure best value, and manage and develop long term relationships with its suppliers.

Recruit, train, and line manage casual staff employed by the organisation in the run-up to and during conferences. 

General

Represent the organisation at events, promote the organisation and establish new and develop existing relationships with partners and stakeholders. Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

-Plan and deliver multi-channel marketing for Mind's physical activity & mental health work, creating impact across the sector - from grassroots to elite sport They will also look after media and PR activity as well as the development of programme materials. The role will also be expected to maximise athlete and celebrity involvement.

-Plan and deliver multi-channel marketing for Mind's trauma-informed young people programme. They will create compelling content that drives awareness, engagement and action. They will deliver against clear KPIs. This includes reaching 100,000 young people (11-24) with trauma information.

-Across both programmes, this role will manage campaign delivery (timelines, budgets, KPIs and risk), track performance and use insight to improve results,

-Our trauma informed support programme is funded by Mind corporate partners. Our physical activity programme is funded by corporate partners and Sport England. Working collaboratively with partners will be an essential part of the role.

As our Website Manager, you’ll help accelerate our work by championing the use of our website as a key channel in The Charity. A skilled communicator, with strong project management skills, you’ll be the trusted voice of the website across the Charity. Your in-depth experience of developing and optimising a website using evidence from multiple sources, including Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, server side tracking and audience/UX research will enable you to thrive in this role. You’ll feel at home working with our wonderful team of marketers, fundraisers and other content owners to define development requirements, and enjoy working with technical experts (in and out of house) to implement those requirements. With a creative mind and the ability to think outside the box, you’ll understand what it takes to deliver success and be passionate about doing so. Your natural curiosity will inspire you to develop your skills, enabling you to keep us at the forefront of new technologies, and ways to improve UX and SEO.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Strategic development of our websites to fulfil The Charity’s needs and objectives

• Use a range of tools and platforms to perform regular analysis of website performance, producing reports and using key insights to improve user experience, conversion rates, and influence wider activity

• Own the website KPIs, reporting regularly against them and providing insight on what success looks like and how we achieve it

• Work across The Charity to develop website elements of multichannel user journeys and campaigns to convert and retain users from key priority audiences

• Develop, manage and oversee an SEO and link building strategy that improves website health and attracts relevant traffic in order to support user acquisition targets

• Use website personalisation and multivariant testing plans to improve conversion rates

• Work with our marketing, social media and journey/automation teams to ensure an integrated channel approach

• Work collaboratively with other teams to train on content delivery best practice – including the use of WordPress

• Lead on management of external partners and agencies – translating internal requirements into actionable briefs

• Be the day-to-day contact for all agency liaison, overseeing scheduled retainer time or projects and prioritising work as required to meet organisational needs

• Work with the Development team to ensure our websites and microsites are fully integrated with Salesforce CRM

• Review new technologies and keep The Charity at the forefront of developments in digital support

Location: Office based in Central Southampton. Hybrid working may be possible on completion of the probation period.

The Role

The Marketing and Communications Officer will lead on promoting the work, services and impact of Citizens Advice Southampton. You will help ensure that local people know how to access advice, that stakeholders understand our impact, and that our voice is heard in local conversations about poverty, inequality and social justice.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will deliver clear, accessible and inclusive communications that reflect Citizens Advice values and strengthen our profile across Southampton.

The main tasks for the role include, but are not limited to: 

Marketing and Promotion

• Plan and deliver marketing activity to increase awareness of Citizens Advice Southampton services among local communities.
• Promote key services, campaigns and projects using a mix of digital and offline channels.
• Support targeted outreach to under‑represented or vulnerable groups in Southampton.

 Communications and Content

• Manage and regularly update our website content.
• Create engaging content for social media (e.g. posts, graphics, short videos).
• Draft clear and accessible written communications, including newsletters, leaflets, posters and email updates.
• Ensure all communications are consistent with Citizens Advice branding, tone of voice and accessibility standards.

Campaigns and Impact

• Support local and national Citizens Advice campaigns by communicating key messages locally.
• Help translate research, data and case studies into accessible content for the public and stakeholders.
• Work with colleagues to showcase impact stories and outcomes.

 Stakeholder and Media Engagement

• Support relationships with local partners, community organisations and funders through effective communications.
• Assist with media relations, including drafting press releases and responding to local media enquiries where appropriate.

Monitoring and Improvement

• Monitor engagement and reach across communications channels (e.g. website analytics, social media insights).
• Use data and feedback to improve marketing and communications activity over time

 Other duties and responsibilities

• Any other reasonable tasks in keeping with the role
• Promote the aims and objectives of Citizens Advice Southampton
• Abide by and assist in the implementation of organisational policies and procedures including Health and Safety, IT, information and equality and diversity policies.

You will share our passion for community wellbeing and social justice. You’ll be just as comfortable working independently as you will collaboratively alongside our dedicated teams, using your skills to promote awareness of the amazing work done by Citizens Advice Southampton.

The role will involve leading the charity through key challenges including funding pressures, local government reorganisation, and evolving service delivery needs.

This fixed-term position focuses on In Memory fundraising, legacy marketing and the Free Wills programme, owning supporter journeys and delivering multi-channel campaigns end to end to help grow income.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the In Memory fundraising programme, supporting supporter acquisition and stewardship activity
• Develop supporter journeys that improve engagement, care and retention across relevant channels
• Plan and deliver end-to-end campaigns (briefing, data selections, creative development, production management and evaluation)
• Manage campaign logistics across print and digital, collaborating with agencies and suppliers
• Use campaign performance data and insight to refine future planning and audience targeting
• Lead and develop the Free Wills programme with participating legal firms, supporting marketing activity through direct mail, telemarketing and digital channels
• Contribute to shaping a legacy events programme, supporting ongoing development and rollout

Person Specification

• Proven experience in legacy and/or In Memory fundraising or closely related supporter fundraising activity
• Strong direct marketing experience, including managing campaigns from planning through to evaluation
• Confidence delivering campaigns across multiple channels (e.g., mail, digital, telephony)
• Strong data and insight capability, using results to improve performance and future plans
• Skilled stakeholder manager with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners
• Understanding of supporter stewardship and supporter care, with a respectful and compassionate approach
• Experience coordinating print/digital production and working with agencies and suppliers

 

What’s on Offer
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until February 2027

Salary: £29,000 - £37,000 pro rata

The Senior Legacy Officer will lead the delivery and development of St Luke’s legacy fundraising programme, taking ownership of one of the hospice’s most critical income streams. Reporting to the Head of Public Fundraising, the role will focus exclusively on growing legacy income through strategic marketing, supporter engagement and stewardship, pipeline development and internal advocacy. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the legacy programme, using insight and best practice to maximise long-term income while delivering an outstanding supporter experience.

• Sensitivity and empathy when working with donors and bereaved families
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations and data protection requirements
• A relevant fundraising or marketing qualification is desirable but not essential.
