Purpose of the Role

The Administrator / Finance Officer plays a key role in the smooth running of One Newham. The postholder will provide reliable financial administration, maintain accurate records, support budgeting and reporting cycles, and ensure effective office and administrative systems are in place, with a strong emphasis on finance.

Key Responsibilities

Finance (priority area)

• Maintain accurate financial records on QuickBooks.

• Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with cashflow forecasts.

• Process invoices, expenses and reimbursements.

• Prepare draft management accounts.

• Support annual budget preparation and monitoring.

• Administer SafeHR (online payroll system) and manage pension returns.

• Maintain grant and project financial trackers.

• Ensure compliance with financial policies.

Administration & Office Management

• Maintain administrative systems and filing structures.

• Oversee supplies, equipment and IT procurement.

• Support onboarding of staff and volunteers.

• Act as first point of contact for routine enquiries.

• Arrange meetings, take minutes and support diary coordination.

• Assist the Network Coordinator in the organisation of network events and conferences as required, including the annual conference and Green Fair.

• Prepare board papers and governance documentation.

• Maintain databases and contact lists.

IT & Systems Support

• Coordinate basic IT troubleshooting and liaise with external providers.

• Maintain equipment records, licences and renewals.

• Support development of internal processes and digital tools.

Community Hire Scheme

• Coordinate the Community Hire Scheme, set up booking procedures, payments and deposits, and coordinate collections and returns.

• Organise regular maintenance of the equipment for hire.

• Liaise with and support the Hire Scheme volunteers and ensure that their expenses are paid on time.

• Promote the scheme widely and ensure that it is taken up by local residents and community groups.

Member and Network Communications

• Maintain up-to-date contact lists and mailing groups for One Newham members and partners.

• Support the production and circulation of member communications, including e-bulletins, newsletters and event invitations.

• Upload and update content on the One Newham website and/or member portals (where applicable).

• Assist with communications for forums, training sessions and network events (e.g. creating simple flyers, booking links, reminders).

• Help ensure a consistent, timely flow of information to members about opportunities, funding, training and key local developments.

Essential Experience and Knowledge

• Experience in a finance-focused administrative role, ideally in a charity or small organisation.

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.

• Experience maintaining financial records, processing invoices and preparing reconciliations.

• Good understanding of office administration systems and general office management.

• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint/OneDrive) and Google apps.

Family Support Worker: Targeted Support and Community Programmes

Oasis Hub Lord’s Hill, Southampton

PART TIME, 20 HOURS PER WEEK

FIXED TERM CONTRACT  12 months (with a view to extend – subject to funding)

SALARY: £15,250 per annum (£30,501 for 1 FTE)

We have a unique opportunity to join Oasis Hub Lord’s Hill as part of our work with students and families. This role will create real impact in the Lord’s Hill Community by working alongside our Academy colleagues to support families of Oasis students and the wider community. Helping more families to engage with support and provision, including the therapeutic space of our city farm.

You’ll need to be an effective communicator and ready to work with some of our hardest to reach families with drive and initiative. The Purpose of the Role

Scope and Authority 
 

Authority:
As the Program Advocacy and Engagement Director, you serve as a strategic leader shaping IRC’s global influence across crisis response contexts, guiding advocacy efforts that are integral to advancing IRC’s mission. You are responsible for strengthening our advocacy strategies and practice, providing strategic oversight, coordination and strategy building across national, regional and multilateral advocacy efforts. You will work with regionally based teams and collaborate with senior regional and country leaders, technical experts, and global counterparts to optimize IRC’s advocacy reach, advocate for systems change policies and impacts and ensure coherence. Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
•  Graduate degree or equivalent experience in relevant field such as Public Policy, International Development, Politics, Economics, Law or International Relations **

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

We’re looking for an organised, people‑focused Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, support and coordinate volunteers across our community projects.

At Oasis Community Hub Blakenhale we provide a range of community activities including stay and play, food club, warm welcome space and adult education, community events and school holiday activities. The Role

This charity is a small but complex organisation. The role

Operating within the Finance and Performance Directorate, as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will lead the Finance Business Partner and Senior Management Accounts team. You will develop the financial planning and analysis capabilities of the team that will better support financial decision making across the organisation and effective risk management.  You will lead on The National Archives' financial planning through Spending Reviews and Fiscal Events; ensuring these are reflected and managed internally through budgets, efficiencies and multi-year business planning.

Other responsibilities include:

• Leading the Finance Business Partner and Senior Management Accounts team, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure high-quality professional finance support and advice is provided to the organisation and development of team members.
• Deputising for the Finance Director as required and help lead the Finance and Performance team through periods of change.

About the role:

You will provide trauma informed support to service users impacted by terrorism. Service users are at the heart of the work we do; working with the family, you will undertake a comprehensive needs assessment to agree a bespoke Support Plan that will include exploring the needs of children and young people within the family.

You will manage a caseload, completing actions agreed on Support Plans and reviewing needs with service users on a regular basis. You will advocate for service users with external stakeholders, agencies and aspects of the criminal justice system. What the job involves 

We’re looking for a Healthcare Improvement Officer to join our Improvement Programmes Team and help us deliver exciting initiatives that support healthcare professionals to improve prostate cancer services across the UK. Examples of projects supported include work around establishing better Active Surveillance so that more men can avoid unnecessary radical treatment; work to restructure and make faster the diagnostic pathway; work to coordinate with primary care and support earlier diagnosis; new surgical procedures that spare men the burden of incontinence. You can read more about our work on our website. 

As Healthcare Improvement Officer, you’ll play a central role in making sure our programmes run smoothly and have maximum impact. You’ll oversee on the logistics and delivery of events across the UK and online, from our Clinical Champions Programme and Clinical Advisory Group meetings to our annual healthcare professional conference. You’ll also oversee recruitment for programmes, manage databases and monitoring systems, and handle financial processes such as invoices and purchase orders, ensuring everything is delivered on time and to a high standard. 

Your work will range from planning and scheduling programmes, to procuring resources, preparing materials and helping to facilitate sessions so that participants are fully supported in their learning. You’ll also contribute to quality improvement project development and coordination, working with teams across Prostate Cancer UK to share good practice and expand the reach of our initiatives. 

Engagement will be a key part of your role, from maintaining webpages and digital channels to supporting our alumni network through newsletters, communications and opportunities for continued involvement. You’ll help manage our online Clinical Champions learning hub and, with training provided, will also have the chance to coach and mentor clinicians using Insights Discovery (a psychometric tool helping people understand their own and others' behavioural preferences and communication styles).  

What we want from you 

We’re looking for someone who’s highly organised, comfortable working with people and able to keep several projects moving at once. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences, from clinicians to colleagues across the organisation. 

You’ll bring experience in event planning and support, along with project coordination, and you’ll be comfortable managing webpages and creating online content. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, colleagues and senior leaders, so collaboration will be second nature to you. 

An understanding of the healthcare and/or charity sectors will be valuable, as will experience in presenting and facilitating discussions. You’ll also need excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively when things get busy.
